This is a high quality adapter that works seamlessly with my X100F. It obviously shows up when you use the OVF as folks have noted, but that just comes with the territory and is something your eye ignores at some point. I have not found the focusing significantly slower or less accurate, as others have reported. Quite snappy, really. And, while it clearly makes the camera bigger and more imposing, I actually like the extra real estate -- it makes it much easier to cradle the camera and to diddle the aperture and focus rings, which I do quite a bit.My only caution is that this lens feels so good on the camera and its 50mm equivalent field of view is so refreshing that I find myself getting sucked away from the wonderful enforced 35 mm experience that I bought the ... I guess having two different experiences, both of which are terribly seductive, is a good kind of problem to have.

This lens is a fantastic addition to a X100F camera and doesn't degrade image quality one bit, but there are two caveats: 1) it kinda makes it a little unbalanced. The whole reason I bought the X100F is it's compact nature and how portable it is. The lens, when screwed on, doesn't make it so much heavier, just bulkier and a bit less fun to shoot with. But that for me is in no way a deal breaker, but number two very well could be and that is 2) it's not very durable at all, and if something does go wrong Fuji up in NJ isn't going work on it. In my case, I was attempting to mount the screw on lens flange, dropped it on to a low pile carpeted floor at an event I was shooting, and caused the lens to go ever so slightly out of round on the mounting flange. Game over. No ... MoreThis lens is a fantastic addition to a X100F camera and doesn't degrade image quality one bit, but there are two caveats: 1) it kinda makes it a little unbalanced. Game over. No more TCL as there isn't a way to have it fixed. So, if you don't have butter fingers like me or don't plan to attach it mid-event, it's all good. Otherwise, maybe you should pass.

Does exactly what it is intended for and does this very well. I was a little skeptical due to the size and weight of the conversion lens. But in actual use so far it has proved not to be an issue.I now carry the camera and both conversion lens (WCL and TCL) in a very compact shoulder bag. The full outfit seems to handle a variety of scenes competently. The time required to install or remove one of these conversion lenses is only slightly longer than changing a lens on an interchangeable lens camera.

I've had a little time to work with the TCL x100ll and am impressed with what it brings to the little f100x. Image quality with it attached is very good, once it's attached the camera knows it is there and responds seamlessly. It doesn't add a huge amount of focal length but enough to shoot fairly tight portraits without the bit of distortion you get with just the basic lens. I have mine on quite a bit and haven't had a problem with it coming lose. I have a 67mm Hoya filter on it and I do need to check it periodically. For hiking and the like I usually have the WLC on which I also have. On the negative side, it's a big chunk of glass compared to the camera itself. With a 67mm filter on it adds right at 2 inches to the width of the camera and of course the front ... With a 67mm filter on it adds right at 2 inches to the width of the camera and of course the front element is almost 2 3/4 inch across. It will of course make the camera front heavy. As they say, there is no free lunch. In closing, if you never do portrait work with the camera, I'd think twice about spending the money, however if you want that option then I think the TCL really expands the capability of the camera
I shot with a 50mm f/2 lens back in the film days, so I've always been comfortable with the framing of that focal length. I just recently picked up the TCL-X100II, and I shot some images at the OPTIC West conference in Monterey. If you like a 50mm focal length, don't hesitate. It is sharp, and fast. With the TCL attached, the size of the camera/lens combination changes, and for some, it may be too big. For me, the X100V with both the WCL and the TCL lenses is a very small system to carry around, and the image quality is great.
Believe all the rave reviews. I am a lover of the 50mm focal length, and I was on the fence about buying this but I took the plunge and I don't regret it. Just screw this onto your X100s' already incredible fixed lens and you will be blessed with no less than the best 50mm experience Fujifilm can offer. The lens produces clear, sharp images from corner to corner, no worse than images taken without the lens. Autofocus speed and performance for me is unaffected by having the lens equipped, no matter the lighting conditions. The X100s' maximum aperture of f/2 absolutely shines with this lens equipped, creating an even shallower depth of field for you to play with. Even at close focusing distances, subjects in focus are tack sharp, popping out at you against the softest, most pleasing bokeh'ed backgrounds ever afforded only by similar lenses hundreds or thousands of dollars more expensive. Low light performance is phenomenal, producing sharp images even with tricky lighting, WITHOUT a tripod (see my photo below). The lens' build quality is solid, made of metal, and matches the finish and classiness of your X100s. It is big and heavy, and when equipped you will feel the weight of the lens, but it does not make your camera feel unweildly. The lens is not as big as the static images you see on the internet makes it seem. For street photographers concerned with stealth due to its size, it is really not an issue. Try it on and see for yourself. If you want to add 50mm capability to your X100s, I say go for this lens. You won't regret it.
After using this lens for several months, I'm very happy with it. Some say it is too big for the X100 Series cameras, but I am OK with that for a little extra reach. The images are sharp, and the focus is fast enough to use in a dark theater (see attached photo). It adds versatility to the X100V.
I bought this converter expecting the same experience with the x100v: small, light, and a modern rangefinder camera. However, this converter has none of these above. It's relatively heavy, feels off-balance in hand. It's huge for the x100v body. And the it blocks almost half of the Optical Viewfinder, which is the whole point of using a rangefinder in the first place. If you are a EVF person, it might be a good choice for you.If you shoots with Ovf or hybrid viewfinder most of the time, avoid this.
I owned this when I had the X100F, and just repurchased for my pre-ordered X100V (I sold my old one). This is a great lens. It doesn't degrade the image quality or lens speed of the X100 series built-in lens (I'll report back on how it works with the new lens on the X100V), but unlikely using the "digital zoom", it does provide the perspective, depth of field and bokeh improvements you expect with a longer lens. In all ways, this lens converts the standard 23mm f/2 into a 33mm f/2, which is equivalent to a 50mm lens on full-frame.Two-years-ago I took my X100F and TCL lens to Japan and while I did occasionally remove the TCL for the wider view (standard is 35mm full-frame equivalent) I actually used my camera with the TCL attached for about 85% of the pictures I ... Usually I take my Leica and a bag full of high quality primes when I travel overseas, but for this trip it was just the X100F and the TCL.The resulting 11X14" coffee table book from this trip came out every bit as good as the similar books from previous trips shot on my Leica. No, it's not as good a Leica 50mm lens on a Leica camera, but in the format of 11X14" and smaller prints the difference is just not significant.Highly recommended for X100F, and while I've yet to try it on X100V (my camera won't ship until late March), I have no doubt it won't disappoint.
I wish I could do a good review.I can't get around to testing and using this product since B&H still owes me the delivery of the Fuji camera.A petty for me, my work, my patient and also for a person that love photography.Still waiting...
