The camera allows for many custom settings and the most important ones (ISO, Shutter Speed, Focus Area and Mode, ...) are well placed as buttons and dials for an intuitive use on-the-go. The competition does a better job with night photography but even with the Fuji you can easily go up to ISO1600-2000 without compromising the quality of the image much.For more technical jargon - like what it means that it is not a full-frame camera but APS-C etc. I recommend reading/watching a technical review.Regarding the "Camera Remote" companion app (iOS and Android) connecting via Wifi: usually it works good and is of great use but the connection can be a bit unreliable at times and the initial set-up may require you to search for guides and help to get it to work - especially when pairing with an Android device. But been there and done that - so it is fine.In that sense, great value for money.PS: This was the last Fujifilm X-T model with a "Made in Japan" print.

There was no manual supplied, and I downloaded a Pdf version from Fujifilm. I found this quite confusing and unhelpful in places and have since bought two books written about the camera. It has so many operating controls , some of which can be re-programmed, and a menu system which will take quite some time for me to study. I thought I knew cameras, having had Canons for many years, but this is a good deal different. I am looking forward to getting to grips with it and being comfortable with its operation. The fujifilm X-T2 is an absolute pleasure to use. This is my first fuji camera and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I have been a canon user since I went to digital from my medium format hasselblad. I haven't had so much fun with a camera system since the hasselblad. I love the dials and the mechanics of the camera. I really loathe scrolling through menus to make setting changes. This X-T1 peaked my interest when it was released. A perfect knock around lens that is light enough to take backpacking without ever worrying about it, but still sharp enough to never really feel disappointed with the quality of the photos it produces. The 18-55 focal length on the crop sensor is a great package for my use and I'm pleased with the image stabilization. The fujinon lenses appear every bit as sharp as my Canon L glass. The low light performance is better than I ever hoped for on a crop sensor. The focus system is quick and accurate. I wouldn't use this camera if I was only shooting fast moving wildlife or sports but I'm very content with the focussing performance. The options available for focus settings and jpeg film simulations are impressive and I look forward to playing with these features more. I would suggest this camera to anyone that is looking for a relatively compact rig that is incredibly capable. This is a camera for people that like to fiddle with settings in manual mode and not for people who just run auto.

I bought this X-T2 kit as a smaller, more portable solution for travel than my full-frame Canon set-up that doesn't compromise on image quality. I waited 3 weeks for stock to arrive, but it was definitely worth it. The glowing reviews and ratings on B&H and other websites are well justified based on my first 2 weeks of use. The size is great - compact but substantial enough to hold comfortably with larger hands. The knobs and dials are simply wonderful - easy to operate and click solidly in place. Although I'm new to Fuji I was happily shooting in Av and manual mode within a few minutes. A big part of that is the large, informative EVF which is better than than OVF on my Canon 6D. Between the real-time exposure feedback and clear display of key settings there's no mystery about how you're capturing the scene. Turning on a electronic grid and enabling the live histogram was a real revelation. No more chimping! The only learning curve has been controlling aperture using a mechanical ring instead of a dial, which I haven't done since the 1980's, but it's quickly becoming second nature. The zoom ring on the 18-55 also operates in the opposite direction to my Canon lenses (like Nikon) which I'm still adapting to. As for image quality, I'm very happy with high ISO images up to 3200, and find the X-T2 within 0.5 stop of my Canon 6D and I can definitely lift shadows with better results. Very impressive noise performance for an APS-C, as reflected in reviews. I'm also very pleased with the 18-55 OIS lens which is sharp and contrasty with a very effective image stabilizer. The only drawback is depth of field control at 55mm, which is expected for APS-C at f4. I'm already saving up for additional lenses, and can see moving more of my photography to the Fuji system over time.

Lightroom's demosaicing is not great for Fuji RAF files, so I use Iridient X-Transformer to convert to DNG, then I process in Lightroom. The extra step is worth it though, as these files have amazing sharpness, color, and dynamic range.Frequent firmware updates are a huge bonus, because Fuji adds whatever they can to make the photography/videography experience more enjoyable and productive. They don't withhold features in order to sell future models. These updates are so monumental in the abilities they add, they can actually make your camera feel completely new.Overall, I wouldn't recommend anything else to a friend looking in this price range as Fuji really has put together something quite amazing here. For it's weight, size and price point, I don't believe there is a better camera out there.

While I enjoyed my time with the X-Pro 1 considerably it lagged in a few areas, namely autofocus and the EVF just wasn't up to snuff when it came to moving subjects or critical focus.I've only had a few days to explore the X-T2 but it appears that Fuji has resolved any issues with autofocus and EVF. The usability features have been significantly improved making the camera a joy to work with. Previously my 60mm lens was largely unusable due to issues with autofocus but with the new camera its quick to focus, accurate, and with the new view options for the EVF I can do critical focus easily.The downside is that this thing ... Its annoying to get it to connect and then it drops the connection after I complete an operation meaning I have to reconnect. This is a software fix, not a hardware one so I'm not too concerned about it.Overall, if you're already a Fuji shooter and looking at an upgrade, yeah, totally do it. I'd strongly recommend getting the battery grip to increase the number of frames you can snap off before needing to slap in a new battery. I shoot landscapes and portraits so I'm not too concerned about the increased size that the grip provides, street shooters or people who want a very compact camera should just carry around a bunch of spares (depending on how long you're going out).

I have been merrily shooting basketball and portraits since! The X-T2 has very good low light capability, even for the dimly lit gyms the basketball games have been in. I was worried about having to shoot an APS-C sensor at high ISO in order to keep the high shutter speed in the low light, however I have had no issues with the X-T2 and a little post processing. My first new camera since my Pentax d100. It is just as easy to use though it has a lot more features, which I am still learning. The kit lens (18-55) is a big step up from the previous pentax zoom , especially in controlling chromatic aberration. I don't anticipate ever needing anything capable of sharper images, especially since I don't do much cropping, preferring to compose the frame at the time of capturing the image. The camera and lens appear to be nearly mint, and everything was shipped and delivered on time. Happy customer.

After turning on and switching into the manual mode I started using this camera right away without meandering through menus. All parameters I was able to set like on an old rangefinder - with dials. I love it and started enjoying photography again. About XT-2 there is a lot of reviews online but what I like is that Fujifilm created the perfect tool for photography enthusiasts. Do you like landscape photography - pair it with a wonderful XF Fujinon lens and you have focus bracketing, live histogram, virtual horizon, and great comfortable EVF just to mention a few of great features. Do you want to try Infrared Photography - you just need an Infrared filter. Do you want to try macro photography - pair it with extension tube at the beginning and macro lens if this is what do you want to do. With this camera possibilities are endless, limited only by your creativity. What is important everything is in a small package so your spine will be very happy.

The fuji is kind of pricy but using the camera comparison tool I was impressed by its size. It is quite close to the larger panasonic M4/3 bodies. Whe it went on sale I could afford one. The camera is very well made and fit and finish are excellent. The image quality is superb, low noise, great color and lots of fun options with the film simulations. I am somewhat competent with pp but have found the baked in settings and jpegs very good. I wanted a small setup so got the 28 pancake and it is a really small package. The menu system is good and the ergonomics are especially good for my large hands My panny GX8 is prone to me pushing buttons unintentionally but so far the fuji is better. I thought I would be sorry for not getting the XH1 for its larger viewfinder and inbody stabilization but it is all working out with the stabilized 18-55 and 50-200. I did buy an lens adaptor and tryed my Micro Nikkor G 60mm and while this lens seems small on my D700 it is a tank on the XT2. The focus peaking and magnifiyed view work well and image quality was great but I would just get the Fuji macro for its OIS and AF. All the items that I needed were on substantial rebates so I was able to set up a system at less cost than anticipated. I thought the joystick for moving the focus point would not be useful bit it is a joy to use. The dials for iso, SS, Exp Comp are really a joy to use and I seem to be able to make quick changes while looking through the viewfinder. Batter life is somewhat short but that is a drawback of most mirroless cameras. I walked 2 miles on the beach then climbed to the top of Big Sable point lighthouse hands and knees out the hatch to the catwalk and my NX300 had a deadbattery. I have carried extras since that adventure. So I am quite happy with my XT2 and the Fuji experience. The camera comes with a tiny hotshoe flash that works very well in a dining room with 9 foot ceiling and for tripping an Youngnou flash optically. Of course I have lost the PC cord dust cover, it was loose an I was to busy to tighten it and then it was gone. I will probably never use the PC. I let a friend take some photos with the cam he shoots oly and pentax and he said soon as he held it he knew it was a quality product. He was able to pick the cam up and just start shooting and did pretty good so I would take that as a plus for the ergonomics and ease of use.
