I have been using Sony for a long time but was looking for something smaller and more affordable that would give me that analog feel. This is a great compromise if you cant get your hands on the x100v, with the added bonus that you arent limited to a single focal length. I feel like working with a Fuji camera has forced me to become more picky about the settings Im using and how I was the final picture to look artistically, which is totally different than how Im used to thinking. Im really enjoying playing with this awesome camera.

This is an absolutely amazing camera! I generally shoot with a DSLR and was skeptical of switching over to a mirror less system. But the DSLRs were lacking in some video features that I was really wanting, so I took a change on the Fuji X-T30 and I am so glad I did! It shoot FHD in 120 fps which is something that I have been wanting for a long time in a video setup to get more of a cinematic look to my footage. I was also looking for a good auto focus to work while filming from a gimbal system. This little camera can do it all! And it is so light that I am not worn out from lugging heavy camera setups around. The auto focus works extremely well for video. It does take a little getting use to as I am more familiar in manual focus, but once you get used to it, it is ... MoreThis is an absolutely amazing camera! I wont go into the specs, since you can read all that online, but I will say that the specs are really great for this little camera.Ok, now the parts I dislike about the camera. The battery compartment!!!! You CANNOT access it if you have a tripod plate attached to the camera. You will need to remove the plate to change the battery. It is a slight annoyance, but it would have been better if the plate mounted another inch over to the right. In addition, the mounting plate hole does not line up with the lens. So you cannot center the lens on your mount. Not a big deal for tripods or even a gimbal system, but it IS a BIG deal when you are mounting your camera to a rig with pull focuses and matte boxes. Also, the Q button is in a weird spot and my finger keeps pushing it when I am shooting and goes into the menu when I dont want to. again, a slight annoyance.Overall, I would recommend this camera as a gimbal / run and gun camera. I pulls focus well and films in many different frame rates and bit rates. You can use it as a main camera that is rigged out, but you will need to overcome the annoyances. I have decided to keep it as my run and gun as that is why I went with it in the first place. You really cant go wrong with this camera!

I replaced my XT100 with this XT30 because I thought the XT100 was too difficult to use. After using the XT30 for awhile I’ve become more comfortable with it. I still think it is the most difficult camera I own to use but when I get all the settings right it does an adequate job. Fujifilm still needs to add a comparable macro lens like their competitors. If they do then I will have a complete Fujifilm kit. Their 70-300 mm lens is good. Even though I would recommend this to a friend I Fujifilm’s competition are easier to use!

I have been a photographer for almost 20 years. The XT30 has been in my hand every day since I got it about a week ago. Like any new product I receive I put it through the test to make sure it performs well. First and foremost, this is an excellent camera, especially for the price. This camera can do everything my Nikon can do for stills and is far superior on focusing. This camera is not for everyone, but like any tool, you need to know its purpose. This camera is small but packs a big punch. I find myself grabbing this camera over my D810 to scout location or shooting videos. I am still learning how to best use this camera. I had this camera scheduled for return, but started to use it more and more and I decided not to return it.I am loving this camera. There are some things about it I would like to see changed, but there are issues with all cameras. There are only two things I would like to see changed so far. I would like to see the SD card on the side, create a long press to activate the Q Button which is always pressed because its so close to the thumb when holding the camera. This seems to be the biggest complaint among users. If i would add one more thing, I would like a better battery life when using video.Overall, this is an excellent camera. I will be ordering additional lenses. I am currently using this camera primarily for video, but I can easily see myself using this for outdoor headshots, fast moving candid or situations which would require fast focusing.I would recommend this to anyone starting in video, traveling, also requiring fast focusing and portability. Its light, fast, easy, portable and creative. You can be as creative as you want with this camera. You cant beat the price for its capability.
I was mulling over what camera to get after years of using a Nikon V1, I wanted something a bit more adaptable and, as my usage is changing, something able to handle interior photography a bit better. After messing around with a mates X-t1 for an hour I thought I would give Fuji a try. I couldn't stretch the budget to a X-T3 so it ws between the X-T30 and X-T2. I when with the 30 simply because is a newer camera so I figured it would be supported by fujis firmware updates longer than the 2 which is now 2 generations old. I've had the camera a week or so at this point, and haven't put it down since! I takes lovely quality images, the learning curve coming from the fairly basic Nikon isn't actually too steep, and because fujis are so popular, there's many articles and YouTube videos on set up etc. I bought just the body only and when for a 18-55 kit lens, which for 200 is brilliant! It's not the tiniest lens, but is very sharp, has image stabilisation and is quick too. I will be adding a 27mm pancake lens too in the future, which will make a great travel lens. If you're considering a step to fuji or adding another one, the X-T30 is worth a look, it's powerful, light and great quality! If only it was weather sealed
Got this for my wife. She loves using. Although a bit intimidating at first, you can use full auto to point and shoot. Tremendous amount of features for this price point. This camera looks great, gets complimented and is built very well. Battery life is about as good as you'd expect and USBC charging is quick. We like that you get so many options to play around with as you learn. Only minor downfall is no 60fps and a rather short time limit on video. After all, this isn't geared towards video. Highly recommend.
Coming from a cheapo Canon EOS T3, this thing feels fantastic! It's pretty heavy, as soon as you pick it up you can tell it's really densely packed. Weight could be an issue I guess but I think it makes it feel really high quality, so I don't mind it personally.Takes great pictures, the dynamic range isn't too bad. I love that there are so many dials for almost any setting I could ever need to change. I love shooting fully manual, even manual focus, and everything is right at my fingertips. I never need to open a menu.Super quiet, super sharp, it cost a pretty penny but I'm glad to have it and I think it's worth the price!

It has a retro design that's sure to catch the eye of your clients and your heart. Though I will say, the brushed aluminum design is quick to scratch so I'd recommend being extra careful where you place/store it. I'd recommend purchasing an individual case just for the camera itself. The photos - whether you choose to shoot in JPEG or RAW (or both), the quality of the photos will never disappoint you. Every image (using both the kit lens and a 7artisan 24mm 1.8 prime lens) comes out wonderfully sharp and with true to life colors. The autofocus on the lens is fantastic, capturing your subject in focus even if they're moving around all over the place. I prefer to take pictures using manual settings, but even using the auto setting I'm never disappointed. Color reproduction and details are great.Fujifilm also comes with an extensive menu that allows complete control and customization of almost anything you can and can't think of. As a matter of fact, there are so many settings that it can definitely feel overwhelming. I primarily take pictures using a prime lens, however, in order to take pictures with a prime you have to search through a mountain of setting and find "shoot photos without a lens." I had to go to Youtube in order to find this setting, it was pretty hard to find.Videos - I haven't shot videos using this cam yet, however it does shoot in 4k and if it's anything like the photos it takes, you won't be disappointed. One note, however, this camera LCD screen flips down but does not flip up, which may be a deterrent if you're a vlogger.Overall - If you're looking for a lightweight, stylish, and capable camera that gives you full control of your photographic experience at a great price, look no further.
Although I have a Canon full-frame camera, I wanted a smaller camera for street photography and family photos. I heard a lot about Fuji colors and their sharp lenses, but never seriously looked into their products before. I bought a Fuji X100f a couple months ago and absolutely fell in love with it. I loved the logical placement of the dials and the intuitive controls. It's reminded me of the film camera days except much better - easier and more fun. Well that led to a "need" to get another, small Fuji camera with similar controls as the X100f, but with interchangeable lenses. So, I bought the Fuji X-T30 with the 18-55mm kit lens. Love this camera even more than the X100f. It's small and light compared to a Canon DSLR, and I've adapted my old Leica lenses to the X-T30. The Fuji and Novoflex adapters work great resulting in very sharp images. I've added photos to show the relative size of the Fuji X-T30 next to a Canon 5D Mk III DSLR and the sharpness of an image using an adapted old, Leica 50mm M-mount lens. The Fuji X-T30 brought back my love of photography.
I've had this camera with the 18-55mm lens for about two weeks and it's definitely my go-to camera now. I really wish I would've had this on a recent trip to Iceland but it wasn't shipping quite yet. I've owned the X-T20 and this is definitely a step up. I really like the slightly lower native ISO (now 160 instead of 200), the greatly improved auto-focusing system and the wireless connectivity between the camera and my smart devices. Using the Fuji app, I'm able to control the camera from my iPad, which is great for composing and shooting still life scenes when the camera is mounted to a tripod -- so it truly does function as a wireless tethered system with my ipad OR iphone. Image quality and tones are beautiful. I do NOT find the menu system confusing as some online reviews claim. You simply need to take the time to learn it, and there are numerous videos on youtube that walk you through the settings if you're new to the system. If you can swing it, I highly recommend the 18-55mm kit lens because it's razor sharp at all focal lengths. So far, I have not seen any evidence of chromatic abberation that I typically get with Nikon kit lenses (sorry Nikon, but it's true). I will now reach for this camera for most shooting situations!
