Pros: I love the classic aesthetic. It was a big reason why I got it. But considering it has the same sensor as its bigger brother and at nearly half the price is a big plus. Very compact, great photos. A camera for life.Cons: The screen only goes up & down, it would've been perfect if it came out and swivelled like the S-10.

Pros: Excellent build quality, great images and looks very cool.Cons: Personally I’d have liked the choice to have a different “kit” lens as I upgraded straight away! The 14-55 that came with the camera is okay if you’re starting out but I purchased this camera as an upgrade so felt like I needed to upgrade the lens too!

Love this camera! I’m a new Fuji-x user, and after getting used to the menu and shooting modes (which have now become easy and intuitive), I find myself taking this camera everywhere. The small size, solid build, and wonderful Fuji prime lenses make this a good fit for me. Also, all the budget third-party lenses available for Fuji x-mount cameras make this a good choice for budget-minded photographers. Importantly, I’m impressed with the images from this camera. I shoot RAF in manual mode and love the results. I admire Fuji for packing their budget cameras with the same sensors, etc., as their flagship models. My two minor complaints are the small grip (I bought an aftermarket grip/plate) and the Q button, which I occasionally accidentally bump while shooting.

I was mulling over what camera to get after years of using a Nikon V1, I wanted something a bit more adaptable and, as my usage is changing, something able to handle interior photography a bit better. After messing around with a mates X-t1 for an hour I thought I would give Fuji a try. I couldn't stretch the budget to a X-T3 so it ws between the X-T30 and X-T2. I when with the 30 simply because is a newer camera so I figured it would be supported by fujis firmware updates longer than the 2 which is now 2 generations old. I've had the camera a week or so at this point, and haven't put it down since! It's not the tiniest lens, but is very sharp, has image stabilisation and is quick too. I will be adding a 27mm pancake lens too in the future, which will make a great travel lens. If you're considering a step to fuji or adding another one, the X-T30 is worth a look, it's powerful, light and great quality! If only it was weather sealed

Great all round camera. Couple of niggles for live streamers and vloggers.

Great product generally. Feature rich. Takes great pictures and video. Nice, fast autofcous. Love the retro styling. If you're planning to use this camera for live streaming, vlogging or long video shoots, there are three annoying problems I've found: 1. Fuji have not left enough space between the micro HDMI and USB-C ports to have both a USB-C and micro HDMI cable plugged in at the same time. You have to cut away the connector casing of one of your cables (in my case, the USB-C cable) to fit both in. 2. You can't charge the camera via USB when it's turned on, only when it's turned off. To work around this you have to buy a dummy battery which allows you to power the camera from an external source (the CP-W126 battery coupler for NP-W126) does the trick. I bought a cheap one off ebay. 3. The flip up screen doesn't flip through 180 degrees. So If you're trying to shoot a selfie, you can't see what you're shooting. Or in a home studio context, where the camera is on a boom arm, you can't the menus easily without disturbing the position of the camera.

Pros: -Nice looking camera-Lighter than my DSLR Canon SL1-Compact sizeCons: -feels plasticky -terrible grip (developed finger pain after 20min light use)-camera struggles with focusing; got one out of 10 sharp pictures (likely due to the kit lens provided)-very complicated menu-as one of the main selling points they say it has a large number of compatible lenses; I tend to agree with this, but it has a very small number of third party lenses and they are extremely expensive especially compared to other leading camera brands-face detection is a joke; not even close to that delivered by Sony; -heats up very quickly-the LCD screen is not touch screen; I don't understand why it is touch screen for selecting a focus but not for going through the menu...-picture quality ... MorePros: -Nice looking camera-Lighter than my DSLR Canon SL1-Compact sizeCons: -feels plasticky -terrible grip (developed finger pain after 20min light use)-camera struggles with focusing; got one out of 10 sharp pictures (likely due to the kit lens provided)-very complicated menu-as one of the main selling points they say it has a large number of compatible lenses; I tend to agree with this, but it has a very small number of third party lenses and they are extremely expensive especially compared to other leading camera brands-face detection is a joke; not even close to that delivered by Sony; -heats up very quickly-the LCD screen is not touch screen; I don't understand why it is touch screen for selecting a focus but not for going through the menu...-picture quality in auto-mode was worse than from my old Canon SL1 camera -overall I am surprised how this camera could be so highly rated by independent photography reviews; I guess, as they say the camera needs to be in the right hands. So I can blame myself for the above experience; however, my old DSLRs could deliver much better results in the same hands.

Not just another camera
15 June 2020

You can read elsewhere about camera functions etc. This is about using the X-T30. Fujifilm cameras are different, with a dial specifically for shutter speed and lenses (some) with dedicated exposure rings can look complicated to use, but surprisingly they're not. It all soon becomes second nature. To me this is the perfect camera to buy if you want to learn photography. As you use the camera it is intuitive to go from auto, to apperture priority, then you realise you've been shooting in manual thanks to the seperate dials and it wasn't scary. In twelve months time, you won't be wishing the X-T30 could do this....you'll be saying oh! I didn't realise it done this.... Lost 1 star for poor wifi interface it does work but is frustrating.

Pros: The sensor is amazing, with incredible detail and noise control. Compared to my Nikon D3300, the noise at similar ISO's is much more acceptable, and when combined with the film simulation (which is available in both Lightroom and Capture One (of which a free version is downloadable for you)) the results are superb! The lens is also surprising for a kit lens! Mostly because of the Q button which is a well documented placement issue on internet reviews. It is far too easy to accidentally trigger the Q menu. BUT, a recent firmware update has given the ability to reassign or even disable the button. The shutter button is softer than expected and taking some time to adjust. So, stealth photography can be hit and miss with shooting from the hip. The lens adjustment rings for focus and zoom are rather stiff and close together. Not too much of an issue for if you like to choose a setting and stay there, but for quick manual changes, not so good. Some kind of seperator or texture difference would have been handy, but it shouldn't be too much of an issue. The battery cover is a manual locking flap, rather than spring loaded auto locking flap. While only being a minor issue, I do miss being able to just push the flap closed with a "click" as the locking switch isn't all that great for folk with short finger nails.

Tracey's review of Fujifilm X-T30 XC 15-45mm F3.5-5.6 OIS PZ Kit - Dark Grey
26 July 2019

Pros: It's a Fuji X Camera, it's awesome. Perfectly sized to fit in a handbag/manbag. Great for Street photography and as a holiday camera. Takes great photos. It may only have one card slot but as a holiday/street camera or just there as a back-up it's perfect. Much better design than the former X-T10 with the little joystick which is great and less fiddley.Cons: My only criticism presently on using the camera for the first time, is the focus point moves even when you've set it to where you want to go. Which when you're taking a shot at speed it's losing the moment. Something to look at in more detail as it could just be operator error as only used the camera once.

Very happy with my new camera
17 August 2021

Bought it 2 weeks ago and since then was inseparable. I keep experimenting and getting used to this small beast, but I am already very satisfied with the results it produces. It trully is an artsy camera which I was looking for, and it somehow feels what I want to say. Gorgeous! And thanks to Quentin Rademaker for helping me out with the purchase and tipping with the nice advice =)
