I suppose I will just use it as a beater get what I can out of it and move on. No more Fuji for me. Product support is non existent so be careful about this purchase. I’ve been a canon shooter since I started photography and recently after watching videos about this little camera decided to give it a try with the intention of it being a camera that I’ll take with me everywhere, do street photography and travel with it more often.PROS:The image quality is really awesome, much more impressive than I expected from a cropped sensor and to be honest for most purposes it doesn’t fall behind my full frame cameras at all. I love the film simulations and the customization you can do on top of it. The size and weight makes it so easy to just grab and go and take with you anywhere. Built quality is overall good for what it is. The lens is very capable and sharp with no major optical flaws.CONS:Coming from bigger cameras I can’t help ... MoreI’ve been a canon shooter since I started photography and recently after watching videos about this little camera decided to give it a try with the intention of it being a camera that I’ll take with me everywhere, do street photography and travel with it more often.PROS:The image quality is really awesome, much more impressive than I expected from a cropped sensor and to be honest for most purposes it doesn’t fall behind my full frame cameras at all. Built quality is overall good for what it is. The lens is very capable and sharp with no major optical flaws.CONS:Coming from bigger cameras I can’t help but feel this camera a bit like a toy. I’ve seen people praise the LCD screen quality and the EVF, and to be honest that wasn’t my experience. Coming from the canon R and R5, this camera’s LCD screen feels outdated. The colors and resolution aren’t really great and the refresh rate sometimes feels a bit weird to my eye.The worse thing for me might be actually something that other people might like, and it is the shutter. Both the button and the actual shutter. The button feels flimsy and imprecise. The distance between the half press and full press is minimal and hard to tell a lot of times when you’re in a shooting situation. So many times I’ve taken unwanted photos trying to half press the shutter button. On top of the inconvenience the overall feeling of firing the shutter is just not very good or satisfying. The leaf shutter only adds to the “problem” for me because it’s so silent that a lot of times you can’t even hear it and it makes you feel like you didnt take the photo at all. I miss hearing a proper mechanical shutter sound as I take the photo. It might be weird to some but to me these things are part of the experience of photography. These things together to me make it feel a bit like a toy camera. Even though it’s a very convenient camera and it makes me wanna grab it and take it with me, it doesn’t make me shoot with it because to me it doesn’t feel great.I’m probably gonna return it and get the x-pro3. I’ve tested one briefly and it feels a bit more substantial. The shutter is not loud but it sounds good. The shutter button is improved. The overall feeling of the camera is just more like a “real” camera and less of a toy point and shoot.

Amazing camera! My main camera is the Nikon d500 which I also got from B&H is also amazing, but it's huge. I wanted a camera that I can have with me all the time, the fujifilm x100v is that camera. The photos are spectacular right out of the camera. No need to spend hours on photoshop. The film simulation options are incredible. Not one local camera store had one,all I heard was that they were impossible to find and they had no idea when they could get one,and the price was ridiculous if they could get one.I was told to forget about it and buy something else.Well I called B&H and of course they were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I had the camera at my doorstep within 3 weeks from when I ordered it. No price gouging at all. I will be saving time in the future ... MoreAmazing camera! B&H and other stores are unable to get this highly sought camera. I bought an open box used on eBay and paid $450 over the B&H price. No regrets! I like this camera very much.Usually I shoot with a Sony a7iv and an a7Riv. I have an RX10iv. Over the past decade I've owned the Sony a7Riii, a7iii, a6500, 3 Nex-7 bodies, and a slew of Canon Powershot models. I use only manual exposure mode. Often I am using manual focus primes.I need good manual controls, aperture, shutter speed, ISO at my fingertips. I want instant access to focus magnification and focus peaking. I want instant access to the histogram while shooting. And I want weather sealing. Often I am using manual focus primes.I need good manual controls, aperture, shutter speed, ISO at my fingertips. I want instant access to focus magnification and focus peaking. I want instant access to the histogram while shooting. And I want weather sealing. I get all this in my FF Sony bodies, but for walk about and social get togethers, the FF bodies + lenses are too cumbersome. The similar size Sony a6500 lacked a front control wheel. Using it in manual mode required delicate fingernail control of the multifunction rear dial. Eventually I wore that dial out, the ISO switch failing. It was repaired. The old Nex-7 were not weather sealed and that weakness did one in.My Fuji x100v checks the boxes. I can preset the aperture, SS, and ISO as I lift the camera while planning my shot. Or I can control all 3 functions with fingertips without lifting my eye from the EVF. With a tap of a finger tip on a front button I can call up a large 3-color histogram while shooting. With a tap on the rear control wheel, set to SS, I can access focus mag, and with a tap on the control stick I can access peaking. There is also a small function button on the top plate to which I've assigned delayed shutter release. To complete the weather sealing and convenience, on the filter adapter I have a collapsible rubber hood, and in the front of the hood a K&F magnetic adapter ring with a weather sealing UV filter. On this I have a K&F magnetic CPL, and on the CPL I keep a pinch style lens cap with a lanyard. When I wish to use the CPL I remove the cap by pinching so the CPL remains on the lens. When I do not want the CPL I peel the cap off and the magnetic CPL remains on the cap, dangling from its lanyard sparing a need to find a secure pocket for temporary storage. The entire rig weighs 500g, so half what a FF mirrorless w/ a nice small prime lens weighs. It is innocuous to have on a neck strap or in a bag.Generally I shoot it at the base ISO of 160, but when my subjects are in motion I jump to ISO 500 which is its second base, the ISO at which the 2nd stage of the analog amplifier kicks in. I do not hesitate to push the ISO higher. The attached photo of our wall-walking Westie was at ISO 3200 (w/ CPL) while I was walking behind (1/1600).By having the magnetic CPL on the lens cap and the internal ND4 filter deployable with a finger stroke on the front lever, I do not need to tote separate filters. The camera is limited by its lens. When I pixel peep It's not quite my Zeiss Loxia 35 on a FF Sony. To produce a pancake style lens there is compromise. To have a longer lens with higher resolution, such as the Sony-Zeiss 1.8/24 Sonnar I loved on my a6500, would have made the x100v less compact, detracting from its purpose. As is, the lens produces excellent color, a fairly flat focus plane, and gives me the results I need. Manual focus is easy, even though by wire.I added a soft touch shutter release button, a rear thumb grip, and an Arca plate with a deeper grip. I 've found all these so nice I wouldn't be without any of them. Many have praised the optical viewfinder but I do not use it. It does not support manual focus, nor a large histogram, and my lens hood blocks about of its view. The EVF is fine. The menu system is easy to navigate, especially with the 4-way toggle control. This is the camera which is with me the most.

Great all around camera after 10+ years with a Canon

Quite the amazing little thing. I had ordered this back in Nov 2022 knowing it was backordered with no exact timetable. Around mid-March 2023, the camera had shipped and my card was charged. I wasn't exactly expecting it, but glad it did.Once I got it, it looked great in hand. The weight and build were much better than what I could tell by images and videos. Though it had some plastic parts, I still feel the quality was great for what I planned to do with it. Beautiful clear LCD and EVP? images came out great out the box with the Fujifilm recipes.Knobs and dials felt solid to use to adjust camera settings, though you could also change it in the settings to just use one or two digital dials to change the settings digitally. It's really whatever your preference ... MoreQuite the amazing little thing. I had ordered this back in Nov 2022 knowing it was backordered with no exact timetable. It's really whatever your preference is.I feel the biggest hurdle for me though was the the menu and camera settings. It's pretty daunting because there's sooo many options and many I haven't heard of before as I've come over to this system from Canon.

Happy Camper!!!

After my X100S went swimming in a glacier melt. I started looking into a replacement. There was few X100 series cameras to be found, new or used and most wanted a big premium. So I signed up on a waiting list, fully expecting to have to wait 2-3 months. Luckily, a month and a half later, I got the good news. One new X100V was on the way. Of coarse I scoured the reviews looking for the differences in the new and previous camera. I must say the hype was really building this newest camera in the series, to be quite the ticket. One week after receiving the new camera, I have to say, I am really liking this V. Things are just snappier, the button lay out is cleaner and easier to get used to, in my opinion. The new viewfinder is really nice. I am not sure why so many ... MoreAfter my X100S went swimming in a glacier melt. I started looking into a replacement. I am not sure why so many folks like the older disk over the new joy stick, to each their own. Kind of like photo images, very subjective. Over all, couldn?t been happier, well unless it was free. Ya, then I could be happier. :)

My everyday camera!!

Yes, I waited MONTHS to receive this since it was on backorder but it was worth the wait. I get so many compliments on my jpegs straight from the camera and on the camera itself. I love how you can add film simulations, it's easy to charge on the go, and you can quickly send photos to your phone. This might not be the right camera for everyone, but I would highly recommend it if you want to feel like you have an endless roll of film and love a 35mm lense. This camera can fit in certain pants and jacket pockets which makes it so easy to carry. I took it on my trip to Peru for 2 weeks and had to pack light for a hiking trip. The weight and space it took was never an issue and I had no regrets bringing it vs a larger heavier camera.TLDR: if you can afford it, this is ... MoreYes, I waited MONTHS to receive this since it was on backorder but it was worth the wait. The FujiFilm X100V Scratches An Itch You Didn't Know Was There
7 September 2022

Over a 7 year long running career in professional photography, the X100V delivers a completely new & unique approach to capturing a moment in time. The remarkably small footprint, along with its unparalleled sharpness and image quality is a testament to FujiFilm's 88 year long history within the photography space.Ive been shooting Sony's mirrorless line since inception and was very pleased with the evolvements made over the years but never felt fully fulfilled. I was in search of a smaller body, with a sharp and low profile lens that could fit into a day bag or slung around my neck without turning to0 many heads. The a6500 was a great option for the last few years but it never felt natural like the X100V.I can confidently say, if you are looking for a camera to ... MoreOver a 7 year long running career in professional photography, the X100V delivers a completely new & unique approach to capturing a moment in time. The most beautiful camera ever!
25 August 2022

I’m not a photographer and I don’t know how to use this camera yet, so I can’t really say anything about it’s performance. In fact, this is my very first digital camera. But after reading a lot of positive reviews and seeing videos praising its many useful features, I’ve decided I wanted this to be the tool for my introduction into photography. I’ve also read this camera is a good start to learn the basics of photography because it forces you to be creative, and as a beginner, I think that’s important. However, I have to confess that the main reason I got this camera was because of its beauty. This camera is not a mere tool, it’s a masterpiece. It’s solid and stylish; and vintage and modern at the same time. It feels like it will last forever. And I think that kind of excitement is promising.
