Fujifilm XF 200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR Lens With XF 1.4x TC F2 WR Teleconve
Distinguished by its long reach and bright design, the FUJIFILM XF 200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR is a 305mm-equivalent lens further characterized by its sophisticated optical layout, fast performance, and apt image stabilization. Well-suited for sports, events, and wildlife photography, the impressive f/2 maximum aperture suits working in a variety of lighting conditions and also promotes working with shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques. The optical design features three extra-low dispersion elements, including one Super ED element, which help to achieve greater clarity and color accuracy by controlling fringing and chromatic aberrations. A Super EBC coating is also used to suppress flare for improved contrast and color rendering. Complementing the optics is a linear motor-based autofocus system, which offers fast, near-silent performance for both stills and video use. Additionally, a five stop-effective optical image stabilization system minimizes the appearance of camera shake for sharper results. Suiting the lens's use in inclement conditions, it is also weather-sealed to resist and dust and moisture and a fluorine coating has been applied to the front element. In addition to the lens itself, the dedicated XF 1.4x TC F2 WR Teleconverter is also included in this kit, and extends the focal length by 1.4x to result in an equivalent 427mm focal length. This teleconverter maintains all automated functions and image stabilization, and its optical design incorporates one aspherical element to control distortion and spherical aberrations.

When Fuji announced this lens I never figured I would buy one, already having as I do the 100-400. But I rented one for a week and went to Bosque del Apache in New Mexico and found it to be an outstanding piece of glass for birds. It comes with a 1.4TC but also works with the Fuji 2X TC; in all combinations the focusing is quick (on the X-T3) and hopefully the images speak for themselves.I hesitate to hope that Fuji may some day come out with a longer super-fast lens, like a 400MM f4 or something - though I shudder to think what it would cost (just look at the Nikon and Canon similar offerings - 5 figures is a bit too much).

I just got this lens after the price cut and it is an absolutely amazing lens - both for photos and videos. The autofocus is fast and IQ is amazing. The teleconverter does not degrade the image significantly. It is heavy although I could use it hand held. The image stabilization was impressive. The Bokeh was good with good separation from the background. I noticed very little vignetting. I did not shoot in low light so cannot comment about it. It is a silent lens. One caution I have is the teleconverter connection to the lens is a very short circle - it untwists accidentally fairly easily. The black ring in front chips easily and I wish they kept everything pearly white. I am an amateur photographer with minimal technical expertise. B and H service was outstanding ... MoreI just got this lens after the price cut and it is an absolutely amazing lens - both for photos and videos. The autofocus is fast and IQ is amazing. Background melts away in perfect style. This 200mm lens will definitely fit the bill for all sports/wildlife and even portrait shooters.Just like the canon super teles need a 1d body or similar, to benefit from all the tech of the lens, so too does the Fuji 200mm lens need a decent body to benefit from the tracking and focus of the lens.Best combination would be xt3 or xt2 or xh1.The lens balances very well in the hand. Not as heavy as the canon 300mm 2.8.Definitely handholdable! Which is a big advantage. It comes in the best most practical lens case I have ever recieved. Canon is currently trying to sell their super white lens case for US$700!!!!The Fuji is almost identical, and holds the extender and isn’t an additional cost!I believe we will soon start seeing Fuji whites in televised events amongst the see of canons whites.

The Fujifilm XF 200mm is a magnificent instrument in terms of its build and its optics. It is sharp and built like a tank. Even the lens case is perfect. The total package is a throwback to another era in terms of build and attention to detail--a marriage of engineering and craftsmanship.I always considered this lens an eloquent solution for the x system in terms of speed and focal length. The teleconverter adds flexibility--280mm at F/2.8 with very little impact on the image. The regular retail price of $6k was high, but not out of the ballpark when compared to 300mm f/2.8 lenses offered by other brands. A deal on sale at $3999.My only complaint relates to the X system. The lens is one part of the system. Fuji needs to build a camera body worthy of this lens. ... MoreThe Fujifilm XF 200mm is a magnificent instrument in terms of its build and its optics. It is sharp and built like a tank. I absolutely love my Fuji xf 200mm f2 lens and the. 1.4x Teleconverter . This is a great Investment into my future as a Professional Photographer,I am in this for life so price is not an issue for me ,I don't follow anyone out there I know Photography is my lifetime calling and passion so obtaining the best tools the planet has to offer at any age is my goal so I can have that edge over my competitors .Way to go Fuji !
I started using Fujifilm X-gear in 2017. I live in Bishop, California, and take photographs while walking in the Owens Valley, Death Valley, and the Sierra Nevada. I wanted light-weight gear that could produce excellent landscape images. My first Fuji zoom was the XF50-140, bought in 2018. Using the 1.4x teleconverter, I found I could capture bird images. In May of 2020 I bought the XF100-400mm zoom. Initially I used this only with a tripod. In September 2020 I tried photographing birds with the XF100-400, but I found it hard to handle without a tripod. Eventually I learned to hold it properly and by January 2021 I was getting photos of birds in flight, using the XF100-400 with my XT4. Eventually I learned to hold it properly and by January 2021 I was getting photos of birds in flight, using the XF100-400 with my XT4. I carry this rig upside-down with the lens foot attached to a clamp and strap made by Really Right Stuff. I soon had an image collection of eagles, hawks, herons, and egrets in flight. But I was missing shots in early morning, the best time to find birds here, because of the slow aperture. In Feb of 2021 I bought the expensive XF200mmf2. In my first 2 days with this lens I found it hard to hold. For example, I missed shots of a flying Northern Harrier because I bumped the aperture ring off of the auto setting. But on days 3 and 4, I used a better grip on the lens and starting capturing flying birds. The lens makes bird photos easier thanks to 1) fast auto-focus, 2) great light gathering ability, so the ISO stays low, and 3) sharp images even when wide open. I use it with the 1.4 teleconverter, giving me a 280mm focal length, equivalent to 426mm full-frame. My previous experience with the XF100-400mm lens was valuable; it helped me get up to speed quickly with the heavier XF200mm. In addition, I read a lot of about bird photography techniques, so my learning curve with the XF200mm was short and painless. If fast auto-focus and big aperture are a useful combo for you, then this lens is worth the price. If you don’t need to shoot quickly in low light, the XF100-400 does a fine job for less money.
This is the most beautiful piece of glass I've ever owned. Even on a 26mp APS-C sensor camera it's resolving more detail than a 36mp full frame Nikon with 300mm f/2.8 lens attached. This lens is something special. Very fast focus, superb stabilization, and almost no change in image quality with the dedicated Fuji teleconverter attached. I was stalking a baby bunny around my yard with it, with TC attached and an X-T3 non-stabilized body. As far as large aperture telephotos go, it's also very light. I used to carry around an old 400mm f/2.8 AIS manual focus lens, because it was all I could afford at the time, and this is like a pocket lens in comparison, lol. This lens is a razor, with great bokeh, great autofocus, great stabilization, and it's dead sexy to boot. The ... MoreThis is the most beautiful piece of glass I've ever owned. I just got the X-H2 and can't wait to see what it's capable of with 40 megapixels.
This lens is outstanding I hesitated on purchasing waiting for the $1,000 sale that happened within the first few months when it was first available but the sale never came fortunately Adorama Camera and added a really nice carbon tripod and a head that made it worth purchasing. The lens is exceptionally sharp, the 1.4 converter is outstanding I’ve been a Canon shooter for years and never liked the photos that I got it with a converter but this lens has totally surprised me. The image quality is great it seems that the lens is so good that even when I crop substantially the image still holds up and the photos are outstanding I highly recommend this lens.
Pros: Sharp, fast focus. Very smooth manual focus. Precise 1/3 stop clicks on the aperture ring. I love the white and green aesthetic.Cons: Rotating collar could be a smidge tighter.
This is a great lens, but tops out at 425mm F2.8 with the 1.4X teleconverter. Where is a 2x teleconverter for the Fuji 200mm? It’s Fuji’s only long, fast tele, and at F2 it’s made for a 2X teleconverter. What’s taking so long? A great start in the Fuji line-up but it’s not long enough for some wildlife. Really needs a 2X to complete the package.
