Fujifilm XF 23mm F2 R WR Lens (Black)
The Fuji X Lens XF23mm F2 R is a wide-angle lens with advanced image resolution and is capable of drawing out the full performance of Fujifilm’s proprietary X-Trans CMOS sensor. Features 10 elements from 6 groups Metal exterior gives a sense of premium quality and robustness Inner-focus AF system uses a stepping motor Weather and dust resistant and can operate in temperatures as low as -10°C The Fuji X Lens XF23mm F2 R is sealed to make it weather and dust resistant and it is capable of operating at temperatures as low as 10degC. When mounted on the weather and dust-resistant mirrorless digital cameras, it allows you to shoot in light rain or a dusty environment with peace of mind. Advanced image quality The lens consists of 10 elements from 6 groups, including 2 aspherical elements. The optimum positioning of the aspherical elements ensures flatness of the image plane for edge-to-edge sharpness. The aspherical elements are used as part of the focussing group to minimise performance fluctuations between different focal distances. Compact, lightweight and stylish design The compact and stylish form factor almost eliminates mechanical vignetting when using the optical viewfinder on the cameras. The aperture ring and focus ring have just the right amount of clicking and torque for great operability. Fast and silent autofocus The inner-focus AF system uses a stepping motor to drive lightweight focusing elements for silent and fast autofocus. When combined with the phase-detection AF system, the lens can focus in an astonishing 0.05 seconds.

Bought this lens to use as single lens travel kit with my x-t4.I have 16-55mm f2.8 zoom which is excellent but heavy for travel use. Many times I have to leave the camera because of weight. The 23mm is right focal length to use for general purpose. I tried 35mm f2 before, which is good lens but too tight in many situation to be used as general purpose. 16mm is too wide as general purpose. My expectation from this lens is, whether it will match the image quality at f2.8 at same minimum focus distance of 16-55mm f2.8 at 23mm. Yes, image quality is pretty close in this comparison. At f2.8 and above I could not see any difference. Coming toclose focus distance 23mm f2 focus much closer than 16-55mm at 23mm which I take it as bonus feature. When focusing close I have ... For half portrait at f2 also it is very sharp, for head shots I use f3.6 or more to get sharper image.Overall I am very happy with this light weight, weather sealed and versatile focal length.

I purchased this lens together with the Fujifilm X-S10, but was debating between this combination and the Fujifilm X100V until the very end. Reviewers and forum-goers would have you believe that this lens is flawed and far inferior when compared with the 23mm attached to the X100V.I have been very pleased with this lens, to say the least! It is very sharp and distortion free and the build quality is excellent. It focuses closer than I thought that it would and is very sharp. In those cases I rarely feel the inclination to shoot at f2, as so little of the image would be in focus, so the supposed softness up close at f2 is not a real-world problem for me. I have used it up close from f2.8 to f4.0 to photograph my newborn daughter and some flowers and a pine cone ... I have used it up close from f2.8 to f4.0 to photograph my newborn daughter and some flowers and a pine cone outside and the results have been plenty sharp. One of the reasons that I can get really good results with this lens and camera combination is because the X-S10 has image stabilisation. I don't care what anyone else says, when photographing anything close up without (and even with) flash, it makes a massive difference. The lens and camera combination delivers perfect ergonomics and very nice image quality. The only downside to this lens that I can see is that there is some crazy flaring when pointing at the sun, which I like to do on occasion. This can be mitigated by changing the angle, though, and I am a fan of the sunstars that it produces, but it takes some experimentation. All in all, I am really satisfied with my purchase. Perhaps the IQ isn't as good as its 1.4 brethren, but if you can't get top notch photographs out of this lens, the fault lies with you. And for the same price and weight. you can acquire two of these f2.0 lenses! Highly recommended!

Probably one of my favorite primes in the Fuji line-up. Great street photography lens. It is a big larger and is made of full metal (so it can be cold when used outdoors in cold temperatures) but very nice bokeh and I like the aperture ring. The included lens hood also helps from accidental bumps and contact with the front lens element and does help give images some nice contrast (which is it's primary purpose). It is a bit pricey and I wish Fuji would make a cheaper plastic version like they did for their 35mm f/2 lens. But if you're into street photography this is a good choice if you want a prime (23mm for Fuji is equivalent to 35mm in full frame terms due to the 1.52x crop factor).Being that you can buy other 35mm 1.8 lenses from other brands for APS-C (like ... This is a quality lens, but for $450 (at the time of this writing) is a little high. $350 might be more appropriate.

This is a great lens. Especially to buy used, if you get the Made In Philippines one it's from 2019 and later, and the quality is excellent. I do not have the 1.4 version and I've read several reviews -during my research- that this lens performs better in many cases. Worth researching and spending twice the money on the 1.4 version. Very sharp, and smooth. All metal construction, Weather Sealed, light, and even though it looks a little weird (the front element is 43mm while the mount is 50, so narrower on front than back) it performs beautifully. It's my walkaround lens for life. For lens hood, I recommend the HAOGE LH-X35, it's a square all metal lens hood, hooks via bayonet. Looks beautiful.
I cannot praise this camera enough. It will claim all your love and attention from the moment you hold it in your hands. Hands down this is the most esthetically beautiful camera in the fuji x line up.the built is strong and elegant and feel like a snug fit glove in your hands. I have used this with the xf 23 mm and the xf 55 to 200 in rain, sun and snow and the camera never dissapointed me. The xf lenses and the camera are weather sealed amd compliment each other in all scenarios. The images produces are crisp and the film simulations give a new life to your photography. The camera captures simultaneous raw and jpeg files and the jpeg fines can be programmed for upto three film simulation effects in the film simulation bracket function. Having all the qualities a photographer would desire this is still a high end luxury camera.
I love this lens. Use it on my X-T5 as a general walk around/travel lens.I bought the silver so I always know which one it is when retrieving quickly from my camera bag.Autofocus is fast. I use back button autofocus. The 35mm equivalent is perfect for travel. With the 40 megapixel sensor of the X-T5 you can always crop if need be.F2 is plenty fast enough. You can use it indoors as well by bumping up the ISO a bit. Not a problem anymore using the new Lightroom Denoise AI, DxO PureRaw, Topaz, etc.I am loving these Fuji primes.Just sold my XF 18-135. It's a great lens for events. I'll just rent one if I need to.As usual, super fast shipping from B & H.
On a road trip from home in Durango, CO to Denver, I decided to take only one lens with my Fujifilm X-Pro2. From my kit, I chose the 23mm f2. I left the other primes and a zoom at home, opting to apply some discipline to my shooting. As a retired pro photographer, and nearly 80, I still take my photography seriously and full of the joy of it.The weather coming home was dark and moody and this lens took full advantage of the dramatic landscapes. This lens is more versatile than I ever imagined. It is now my go-to travel lens.
I Love this lens! I've always loved shooting 35mm (FFE) and this is perfect for me. This lens gives my X-S10 a small footprint and the images are outstanding. My travel bag includes this, the 18-55 and the 70-300...but THIS lens never leaves my camera. Almost permanetly attached. BTW: I bought this used. Never be afraid to buy used from B&H. The condition was even better than they stated. Perfect!
Great lens! A perfect focal length for walking around and travel. Wide enough for context but you can get a little compression to bring some details in as well. On a crop sensor you get a 35mm full frame equivalent with this lens which turns out, I love. F2 isn’t the best lens available for low light and portrait bokeh but the size is CONSIDERABLY smaller and makes me throw this in the bag all the time. It takes up about the same amount of space as my air blaster. Even cranking up the ISO to compensate for the smaller aperture produced great results mounted on my X-T5. Build quality is all metal, except the hood. Aperture ring has positive detents and the perfect amount of effort required to turn it. Too small to use a step up ring without defeating the purpose of the small size. At least small filters are relatively cheap. Overall, an overall great lens that I’ll be using for many years to come.
This lens is honestly more than you think you will get. I came from the kit lens 18-55 F2.8-4, and this was so much sharper and crisper the moment I looked through the view finder. When I looked at my pictures after the fact I was more than pleased with them by comparison. It’s also very lite, and super tank like. It fits and looks really nicely on my x-t3. The Wheather sealing has worked well so far and i can’t say enough how reassuring that feels when your out shooting. Took a couple close ish photos of my wife as a portrait test. Cropped in and the results were very pleasing. The talk of a soft close focus up close are real, but stop down a bit and that vanishes so I don’t really see what all the fuss is about to be honest. Especially as you can zoom in a tiny bit on a head and shoulders portrait, and loose no crispness or sharpness. Does markedly better inside and in lower light than the kit lens as well. Honestly, I think everyone should own this for their Fuji. Especially at this price, which is very reasonable and doesn’t show in terms of image or build quality. Simply put, it’s a reasonably priced, robust, Wheather sealed, and stylish little lens with great image quality.
