If you aren’t proficient at driving screws straight with a drill, this will be a mess for you. The plywood is not wide enough for much error with centering the screw. I’ve got a few skills, and two screws from three sets of these are now visible from screwing slightly askew. The ID stickers will never come off. Best of luck. Also, if you set something wet on it, the cardboard ply immediately raises and it leaves a lifted mark. I paid next to nothing for these, so I’m using them as disposable plant stands and bookcases and will toss them out when I move.

I understand it’s a cheap bookshelf and if this is all you can afford, it’ll do to hold some books. Putting it together was ok, but a corner clamp would make it easier and more precise. I recommend not putting the back on because I busted nails through the side as it’s hard to tell where to nail. Glue would have been a better idea. All in all, it’s worth $18 but I sort of wish I would have paid more for nicer. I hope it lasts a little while!

I really like these shelves. they are fully reversible, so you can choose which pieces you'd like to face in, out, or up. they are nice and sturdy, and I found them to be very roomy.Note that the individual pueces are all blue on one side and white on the other. for the top and bottom pieces and rhe sides, you can choose which color goes where, but you will be stuck with that choice. For the shelves, if you change your mind you can just flip the entire thing over to change the color with no disassembly required. cool design.

I was looking for non plastic shelves to put shoes and umbrellas in for a closet. I am a DIYer for 50 years, so when I say this is recommended, I’m saying for furniture that is rigid, but also economical this works. Now, I put 2 of these together and one included a nail holding tool for precise placement. Neither one came out without blemishes the outer surface caused by screws or nails coming to close to the melamine finish due to not piercing the mating board and remaining straight till tightening. All boards receiving screws have holes in the correct location, so maybe you should deepen these holes with drill if you have one, or be very careful. Maybe have someone look at your screw as it is going in to see if it starts to drift off center.
This shelf is ok- the item was received damaged inside of the box. There wasn’t outside box damage so unsure musta been packed like that. Several chips and gauges in the partial board, this isn’t made of real wood, just particle board. . So makes it look used and ugly. I was going to return, but too big of a process just not going to use in bedroom like I wanted going to give to our kid to use for toys. Also screws are gold and clash on the white. They give you circle white paper stickers, what look kinda like reinforcers for paper, that you stick on the screws to cover them, looks tacky. I picked this one because in the picture it looked like no screws showing, which isn’t the case. Makes it look cheap. Overall this should be like 10$. Is it worth $18? Yes. I wouldn’t imagine a bookshelf could sell for this cheap in today’s economy. It’s definitely cheap; it’s made of saw dust, the paint is thin, the screws don’t sit flush, the shelves don’t fit larger books. However, the bookshelf costs $18 so the value for the money is 5 out of 5 stars. Worth the purchase; the holes are pre drilled and accurate, comes with only 7 pieces to assemble, screws and nails etc are provided, and nothing came apart during assembly. I use it to store extra books in the closet for my kid.

Maybe a staple gun (small staples) could do it better? I didn't have one.7. The screws (16 of them) are not flat-head-screws. Those are meant to be screwed in and the head is then flush with the board you put it in. These screws don't seat themself and by default you stop so that you don't split the wood, or you strip the screw out of the composite wood structure. Remember, this type of wood if you get it wet, it will swell.8. I would suggest not buying this online, you can't really notice about the 7 things I mentioned above by simply looking at a catalog picture.9. Get the swear word piggy bank down and get ready to 'put yo money in it.' You may not use swear words, congrats, but you will make them up as you put this together. i.e. - "Well flip my flapjacks dagnabbit to thunder." Put a quarter in.
Seems furniture keeps getting smaller for more expensive pricing. Compressed wood and came out a bit imperfect. I’ll probably have to buy 2 more to fit the rest of my books which means it’ll cost me $66 for 3 of these cheap and small units…my son is 36” tall so the unit goes up to his neck. It’s very small like for a child’s room.
Received this shelf in packaging that looked good, but two of the corners were smushed. Given the price, I decided to build it anyway….. but after putting it together I noticed the smell. It smells so bad! I aired it outside for 24 hours, but it still smells. I was planning to use this as temporary storage next to my bed for when my baby is born- to hold her diapers, wipes, extra change of clothes…. But I honestly don’t want to put any baby items on it because of the chemical smell. I’m not sure it’s safe to use next to a bed as well.
this bookcase is exactly what i wanted. the descriptions are accurate. instructions to assemble included. i am actually using it in the bathroom as i have no counter space or cabinets. just a sink. it fits perfectly in between the toilet and sink. sturdy. easy to clean. i am very pleased with my purchase
