It's a clever little analogue/digital watch with good looks. The sunburst dial comes to life in the sun - which surprised me! Brilliant yellow resin is refreshing but the material is not as supple as the usual Casio black resin bands - I guess it's the nature of the coloured material that is used. A little larger on the wrist than say, the 5600/5000 resin or 'full-metal squares', but its lightness makes up for this.Usual casio functionality, which is just great fun especially when watching the hands spin. The yellow colour wasnt my first choice for a watch but I soon realised that this one had the perfect easy to read dials, the other four variants in this range were really hard to read so I decied to give this a go.Arrived the next following day after placing my order with G-Shock, I tried it on and wow it fits perfectly on the wrist. Its nice and light for everyday wear and tear having 200m water resistance. This has tough solar power and you dont have to rely on changing the batteries on this watch. Also you can connect this with your phone and adjust the settings of the watch, also this can be used to find your phone! The design is classic and this is one of G shocks god tier watches that everyone should own. I would love it if they could keep the design but ... I had my eye on this popular version of the “Casioak” for some time but it was always out of stock. Good fortune prevails and I was able to acquire this piece, I already have GA-2100-1ER but wanted the flash of colour, solar and Bluetooth.This is a great little G-Shock, the hands and dial are easy to read and unlike the 1ER so is the LCD. The bright colour and flashes of red and blue make the overall appearance distinctive. I love the convenience of solar power, not having to bother about batteries and the Bluetooth is a hand feature but I don’t understand why I need to have 2 G-Shock/Casio apps one for my GMW-B5000 and one for this watch?Overall this a lovely addition to my watch collection and is a go to watch if I’m out on my motorbike, overall I’m very happy ... Nice looking watch, fact. However, the bluetooth functionality is largely pointless. For anything other than settings the time. The find my phone functionality is purely a gimmick. As the Bluetooth tunes itself off and even with the phone only a few feet away it failed to activate.As for the solar and battery life, to soon to tell if it’ll live up to the 10 years you’d expect form a G-Shock branded product. In theory should last much longer with the solar panel and no real reason to activate the Bluetooth more than once or twice a year. Connectivity in short sucks.Colour is great, went with the green looking good.

On the whole I like this watch, Its comfortable and smart.Setting up and connecting the bluetooth however was very difficult. The app is also not very reliable. I have already had to uninstall and the reinstall.The buttons also are far too recessed and difficult to access making it frustrating to use at times.I also miss not having a second hand, though I understand this is to save power.Despite these complaints I am still reasonably satisfied with this watch. Would I buy again?? If the issues I mentioned above yes. If not, no.

Surprisingly light (I have a couple of other all metal watches so comparing to them it feels light)Strap is comfortable but personally I feel it looks a bit cheap but that is an easy fix with a new strap (and a couple of 16 to 22mm adapters!). I also found the quick release strap pins quite fiddly to put the strap back on. The strap sits at around 45 degrees the watch so getting my big sausage fingers into the quick release part was tricky. Might not be an issue for most people as you won't often be taking the strap on and off.Visibility of the hands is fine in daylight and also in complet darkness as the hands glow enough to see them. The light feature looks cool as it lights up the face but I've noticed already that it lights up the edges of the led screen which can look a little like the hands making seeing the time confusing. The LED screen itself I find too small to see what is there (maybe because the inverted led hasn't enough contrast or my eyesight ain't what it used to be). That said I don't think I would ever use the features on the screen so it doesn't bother me too much.Set up with the app is cool and it was great to see the time adjusting automatically, but again a lot of features I most likely wont use.I sound like I am being negative but for what I bought this watch I am more than happy with its looks. And can put up with the foibles. I wanted a reasonably priced tough watch for everyday knocking around the garden and holidays when I can sweat, swim,get caught in rain etc and not worry about it, without it looking like a throwback from the 80s. Only had a it a few hours so can't comment on its solar charging and battery life but it was in the "low" range out of box and I put it straight on around 6h ago and have been inside that whole time and not even a bright day here? It's now saying "high" charge.All in all I would say if you plan on wearing this as your main watch and will be wearing in low light situations or the features that are displayed on the small screen are important (and your eyesight isn't the best!) Then I would recommend one of the other colour options.For my usage I think it looks pretty awesome and it's cheap enough that I may still buy one or !ore in different colours.

It's been worn everyday from dawn to dusk for work and play (very dusty workshop and sea water for play !!!).I can only report that this is an extraordinary watch. Very light and comfortable to wear, clear face readings with great personalisation abilities. I have had no irritation from the strap. I've an 8inch wrist and this watch sits on very neatly and because of its slim line it presents no problem when you want to wear less casual cloathing.Reliability; its only been 1 month but time keeping appears excellent. I've deliberately not made allowances for the tough solar charging but charge has remained high with only very slight levels of movement.It would be appropriate to mention ...
