Awesome watch, except for one thing…

Husband loves this watch! The only thing we wish was different - not having the ability to change settings for different countries. Once it’s set up, you can’t change when going to another country. We were in the States when I gave him this, but we were moving to another country. So he had to wait 5 weeks to set it up in our new country. But, now when we go back to the States, he’s stuck with the other settings.

Managed to get one of this colour from another retailer as not in stock here. However it is a cracking watch - not least the battery life which is phenomenal. It links well with the Android app where allows changing of nearly all the setttings and then ping them over to the watch. You also get a tonne of data for general fitness (steps/ calories/ distance) plus specific workouts- VO2 Max etc. As well as running you can also track other activities in the same way (Strava will usually convert them to the correct sport automatically). Also full control over switching on and off the heart rate monitor and GPS to off/ normal /extended means there is loads of capacity to extend the battery even further. Notifications come through without fail (though you may need to ... MoreManaged to get one of this colour from another retailer as not in stock here. Not only that but it looks like great and tells the time too! I have owned Garmin and Polar watches but this is definitely my favourite.

Pleased with delivery time of watch.Already a big fan of G-Shock watches anyway so no biggy that I like it.Specifically though, I very much appreciate the combination of a watch I like and the ease of use in particular of this version along with the ability of step recording and all the other things we enjoy while linked to a mobile phone we use daily. The Pro Trek version I used for several years prior to this version of a similar internal module is a particularly good watch for every day use and walking trips especially. This version does all of that and an awful lot more, all of which makes it a more useable version of the Pro Trek if you view it from that perspective.Something I noticed immediately on starting to wear it was that for whatever reason the GPS ... MorePleased with delivery time of watch.Already a big fan of G-Shock watches anyway so no biggy that I like it.Specifically though, I very much appreciate the combination of a watch I like and the ease of use in particular of this version along with the ability of step recording and all the other things we enjoy while linked to a mobile phone we use daily. The Pro Trek version I used for several years prior to this version of a similar internal module is a particularly good watch for every day use and walking trips especially. This version does all of that and an awful lot more, all of which makes it a more useable version of the Pro Trek if you view it from that perspective.Something I noticed immediately on starting to wear it was that for whatever reason the GPS on this is very quick to get/triangulate a signal. All in all very pleased with the watch and everything it does as it does it all very well, I'm sure some individuals will be able to pick through the minutiae of specific functions - I am not that person.

Great upgrade on an old casio watch!
22 August 2022

Wow I got this watch for my son since he wanted one which I had (Protrek 2500). For his birthday I went back to REI and tried to get one like the one I had and it was no longer being made so I got the newer one which was this model. Now I need to get this one, It has most of the same options as my Protrek 2500 and so much more. Looks sharp he loves it and it's a great fit, best of all they anaged to maintain the solar charging option which is what i like the most. Definitely recommend this one.

Great watch but very bulky
12 October 2021

I got the watch to monitor my heart rate. I had a fitbit but I found they were hard to operate with swiping here and there. I got into places where I needed to study the manual to get out of. This watch is easier to program and I can get my heart rate to constantly stay on the screen so I can look at it with just a glance. The only problem with the watch is that it is bulky. It is a little over an inch sitting on your wrist but you can't have everything.

Latest update made this thing golden!!
2 July 2021

Bought this for hiking and backpacking. Even though the button says “Run” on the side I feel like this does pretty well at tracking hiking and walking.Initially there were issues with my pulse dropping when I started to climb as well as accuracy issues with distance and elevation which basically made the watch useless. Today the watch had an update and after returning from the hike that caused the last problems I can say it is fixed. Compares very closely to my gps enabled Apple Watch. Difference is the exceptional battery life in this Casio. It’s great!! I can wear it for very long periods of time without charging.

Nice watch but flawed app
1 August 2023

The watch itself is very nice, good build quality and very easy to read screen. It has a decent set of features but as a running watch it lags behind the likes of Garmin etc. it is somewhat clunky to use with a slow response to pick up GPS & when saving data. The biggest flaw for me is the Move app that you must use with it for running isn’t good. If it’s the only app you will use with it you may find it ok but as it was advertised as being able to link & save data to Strava that’s what I wanted it for.As the saving of a run to Strava is automatic you cannot manually do this and so when Move repeatedly fails to sync the data to Strava there is nothing you can do.I have contacted Casio regarding this and was initially told the Move app wasn’t compatible with Strava ... MoreThe watch itself is very nice, good build quality and very easy to read screen. You're lucky Bestbuy. I love the gbd-h1000
3 September 2021

Watch shipped slightly used. A little dirty and set on HR screen (battery DOA), Missing watch bag, information tag and watch box was ripped and crushed. I charged and cleaned the watch, had it over a month now and havent had an issie or had to charge it since! The G squad watch is awesome. If i didnt like the watch so much i would've sent it back and ordered one through a jewelry store like i wanted to. All in all? bestbuy did good here. They obviously used a returned watch and shipped it to me as new in box but, the watch was only dirty and had finger prints. Otherwise its flawless and does as advertised. We're good to go Bestbuy
