G-Shock GX-56BB-1ER Watch

Bought this watch when on sale, what a bargain! Always loved a combat Casio this one is tough as the rest and have had no problems so far; highly recommend the watch and the watch shop!

Absolute beast of a watch. Very stealthy looking. I love the fact the face lights up at a flick of the wrist (like a smart watch). I am an engineer by trade, so need something that’s not going to fall apart after half an hour. This watch is bomb proof. I would wholeheartedly recommend this watch. I was worried about the 54mm wide face looking silly on my 8” wrist, but it doesn’t. I ummed and ahhhhed about buying this, but I am so glad I pulled the trigger and brought it.

Brilliant watch.Great for those who like larger watches.Solar powered is a must these days and so it gets an additional thumbs up for that.Flick of the wrist option illuminates the display at night. (Handy.)

Another quality G Shock

Large easy to read display, very stealthy looking in all black with a brushed aluminium buckle. Although it is a large watch it is very comfortable to wear and able to take a knock or two due to chunky construction.Overall very happy with my purchase.

GET THE LOOK

After a year or so of wearing my first Casio since an A150 in the early 80s, a GW-B5600HR-1, I felt it was a bit on the small side but was put off getting a GX56 because I thought it would be too big for my wrist. However, seeing a good deal for £96 I decided to take the plunge and have not regretted it.Looks smaller and more subtle than in the photos and YouTube vids. I can't speak for the gold highlights GX-56SLG-1DR or the red highlights import GXW-56-1AJF versions but the blacked out GX-56BB doesn't look absurdly large on my 55 mm wide by 40 mm deep 160 mm wrist and while it would be a bit big for someone in a client facing sales or installation role at work it's fine for leisure/days out/holiday use. If you are looking at G-Shocks because you are bored with smart watches this would make a great firstG-Shock. If I had my time again I would skip the 5600 altogether and get one of these first and then an MTG-B1000 for formal/evening wear later on.Looks more high quality than in photos. Crisp well fitting charcoal black resin mouldings with a nicely pliable chunky comfortable strap which integrates perfectly with the case. Nice backlight in a mid green that lights up just the digits not the blue light over the whole screen you get on a 5600 so looks very stealthy. Backlight comes on instantaneously when you tip the watch in the dark with none of the time lag you get on a 5600. Small wristed will find the strap does not fit snug at the sides; mine has a 4 mm gap on each side, but as it's a chunky crinkle cut chip style of strap it's hardly noticeable in everyday use and certainly does not look silly. It's very light so tends to stay put in one position on your wrist in the way a heavy stainless steel watch sometimes doesn't do.Yes there is a more functional new breed of semi-smart watch out there such as the Garmin Instinct or Casio's own G-Squad GBD-H1000-1ER but for nine out of ten people the GX-56 does everything they need it to do and nothing they don't and if you want that iconic look you know where to go!

GX-56BB-1ER Classic Multifunction LCD Wristwatch

Fantastic watch; however, the display is a major complaint of mine. The negative display is hard to read. At the darker hours of the day, you will require to use the backlight function, whilst with a positive display watch, you’d have no problem to tell the time. There is a positive display version of this watch only available in Japan. I recommend to get that one, even though it’s a bit more pricey.

Great service again. This is my 5th G-Shock and always impressed by the service and speed of delivery I have personally received. The watch came extremely well packaged too.The watch looks fabulous and is, as I like them, nice and chunky with a tough reliable strap which, being in the military, I rely on. The last thing I need to be worrying about is my watch falling off and losing it.Cheers G-Shock I will be buying a Rangeman off of you soon too.

received the watch in 3 weeks from netherlands to canada. watch was as described, nice, new gshock. no issues, no problems. used aftership app to track the shipment. it can be slow to update ,at times. good purchase, i'm happy.

Perfect watch for me

The perfect watch! Has all the features I could need plus look and feel of the watch and strap are very comfortable.I wanted something that suits my larger wrists, was hesitant that the negative display would hinder compared to the 5600 I was used to. However it is not a problem at all, if it is too dark then the (auto) illumination function has you covered. I love it more than my expensive dress watches, even.
