Great watch. Take the already great 6900 and add solar and atomic clock syncing. Looks great with any outfit, except for maybe anything with a suit jacket. Yeah, leave it at home on your wedding day. Otherwise, good to go everywhere else. Highly readable display, with a blue-ish green tint. I seem to acquire the radio sync updates every other day from Virginia.

I hate the current trend of hubcap-sized wrist watches. I'm not into flashy jewelry, and when it comes to watches, function is more important to me than razzle-dazzle. I also want a watch that will stand up to my workday.This watch is great. It's subdued, fairly flat to the wrist (not too thick) and the face is the perfect diameter for my wrist.This watch is the same size as my Mudman GW9000A-1.

I bought this watch online new from Best Buy. It arrived and I noticed the atomic time sync was a future month (it does not show the year) so that made me curious on manufacture date. I reached out to Casio which directed me to TimeCentral (Canada) and when I sent them the serial number stamped on the back which ended in the letter B they told me it was made in 2009.I am sure it would have worked for years to come but I would rather a new watch with new solar battery then something that has been sitting in a warehouse for over 14 yearsI returned that watch to Best Buy for full refund and will keep looking.

Excellent quality. Atomic timekeeping updates the time automatically every night so your watch stays 100% accurate. The solar charging works great. It’s comfortable feels great on the wrist. Highly recommended.
Ha Ha Ha for the simply reason that the watch never reached High Charge. Or did it? Bought a second one to see if had same problem. It did! Several nice responses from other buyers about how to charge. But started to think about the little circle with the charging info. Seemed with the lighted area only going to medium that it was not charging. So called Casio and got tech support. They looked at everything and said, no, it's the dark area that indicates the level. So the watch actually was fully charged and never went down. It just looked like it was only to medium because that part was the lighter color. Makes sense when realizing this particular face is also available black with white numerals. And the instructions have to cover both faces. Researched for a watch that would work for 24 hour time down to seconds for recording ARRL emergency communications. Solar so it's charged and not having to worry about batteries for quite awhile. Atomic time so it's accurate. Alarms, down and up timing. Not looking for a big macho watch which at 41mm it's low key for a watch like this. Dull black. Name and function nomenclature in grey. Sturdy. Waterproof. Tough. G-Shock having a history with military and law enforcement. Not a huge price tag as it might get lost or given away in an emergency situation. And rather handsome. And the size can work for male or female personnel. It's a cop watch. Or deployment watch. Could be issued. Low key, it still says someone with a mission. Some may want to put a Nato band on it. That works too. Think the issue band is just fine. Everything it needs to be. With just a tiny bit of swagger to it. I'm ex-fire and vet. Rotary. This is a perfect watch for getting things done time.
Perfection. If you're looking for a simple G-Shock that's easy to read day or night and doesn't have a lot of features you'll never use, this is the watch. The illumination feature actually works at night. The face is incredibly easy to read at all times. The size is perfect. I find many G-Shocks to be overly large and gaudy, but this watch is understated and will not draw attention. I gave up on models that have both analog and digital displays because the watch hands inevitably block the digital display throughout the day. If simplicity is your primary concern, do yourself a favor and switch to a strictly digital watch instead of compromising. I added a green nylon band from JaysAndKays which makes a world of difference in the appearance.
This is a fantastic G-Shock. Packed with Tough Solar and Multi Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping. Always accurate and the battery will last longer than the watch probably will! The best version on the 6900 family, comfortable and great looking. This is a perfect every day watch, it's not "in your face" due to the colour being black with grey writing. The solar panels on the watch face look awesome, a bit like Tron light cycles trails! Well recommended for any G-Shock fan or even if you're not. Perfect all round watch. You will not be disappointed if you choose this one.
Excellent watch, light weight, and durable. The automatic illumination is not working but I can use the button, not a deal breaker for the price. The auto sync, radio reception is being received every day in s. Cal. excellent value! Two things I would change: 1) while in stop watch or timer current time is not displayed. 2) have to scroll through all modes to return to time keeping mode while other Gs you can press bottom left button and hold,and from any mode will return to time.

hey everyone. just checking in here. it's April of 2021. I purchased my watch in 2013! 8 years and still running as good as new. it has been a daily wear item and has held up to mountain bike crashes, swimming in the ocean and daily baths. I have never had an issue with it. it is beat up, scared and scratched. it's been my trustworthy adventure buddy for so long I had forgot when I purchased it. if I lost this watch, I would replace it with the same model without hesitation.
