XMP/EXPO sub/secondary timing on this kit are pretty loose. you can tighten them up a lot. tRAS can easily go down from 96 to 28, for example, even with the new AM5 lower voltage limits. attached a picture of my settings and voltages. i can probably tighten the up some more but at this point the benefits aren't worth the possible stability issues.i've installed a few of these kits in the various systems i built. you don't need 1.4V that these are configured with from the factory. it should run fine at 1.35V even when OCed. 1.3V is doable depending on your luck with the silicon lottery

I've been using this memory in a ROG STRIX Z690-E Gaming WIFI motherboard for several months now. If I try using any XMP profile, the computer will crash after a while. If I turn off overclocking, it runs fine, but that defeats the purpose of even using this memory. Without OC, I shouldve just bought DDR4. For helpful information, I have: - Ran a mem test for 8hrs without any errors. - Updated the BIOS 3 times now (basically every new update that comes out in the hopes that it will solve the problem).

If I was building this system with cosmetics as a priority or was building it for someone else and to their spec.... I'd be annoyed. As it stands, the 'wrong' color I received isn't an impact, but caveat emptor if you NEED black ram spreaders. Like myself and others reviewing this product, you may not get them. I'm keeping the silvers (even if the product wasn't out of stock as I write this), your priorities may differ. I chose 3 eggs over 4 as I did not receive the actual product ordered, merely the functional equivalent... and if computers built for looks weren't a common influence in the market, RGB wouldn't exist, let alone increase price points.
This kit works great with my Asus Strix Z690-F board and 12900k. No complaints. I was able to fire XMP right on up and I didn't have to touch any of the IMC voltages. Be warned.... DDR5 memory can get hot but I'm not having any issues with this kit. Thanks to a voltage regulator being located on the stick, the RAM temps can jump up while the system is running a program that uses lots of RAM. In the past I never had to worry about what the temps of DDR4 memory were doing, but with DDR5 I have to keep my eyes on the RAM temps. I see RGB memory fan kits in the future. No.... despite what some Youtubers have said.... DDR5 and DDR4 RAM are not compatible with eachother. That guy should have known better. DDR2 and DDR3 have the same pin count as well but they're not ... MoreThis kit works great with my Asus Strix Z690-F board and 12900k. No complaints. DDR2 and DDR3 have the same pin count as well but they're not compatible.... because the notch on DDR3 RAM is in a completely different location. Some of these Youtubers need a hardware history lesson.... and it shows when some of them don't even know what an 8800gt is.
Purchased the G Skill Trident Z5 DDR5 memory to mount in my new MEG Z690 Godlike MOBO. This was the only DDR5 RAM at 6600 that was ready for the MOBO. From the get go I was having problems with the RGB lighting using the MSI center and was unable to get the RGB lighting to work without having to reset the software to maintain the lighting as desired. Have been unable to achieve a successful stress test on the new PC. After running a test on the RAM it was discovered that the RAM had 4 errors. There are many reason why the stress test could have failed. The RAM runs at 1.4V out of the box with XMP enabled. I believe the RAM needs a little more proving or for other parts to catch up. The CPU being used for the PC is a I9 12900KS which runs very hot by its self. The ... MorePurchased the G Skill Trident Z5 DDR5 memory to mount in my new MEG Z690 Godlike MOBO. 5 eggs for this particular set of DDR5 G.skill 6000mhz CL36. This is my second set of this exact ram from G.skill. I purchased my first set in December at higher prices and regret that decision as the ram wasn't stable. It ran XMP profile fine but would crash while gaming or would throw memory errors above 50C. A lot of people complaining about early adoption of DDR5 blaming it on the motherboard or its bios but I would find certain people who had no problems whatsoever with this ram. So it got me thinking. IT'S PROBABLY THE RAM and not my bios! So I purchased the exact same G.skill ram right here on Newegg and it's running perfect! I haven't had to adjust any voltages in Bios, it just runs XMP auto settings. No errors on memory tests or benchmarks and I've had it ... More5 eggs for this particular set of DDR5 G.skill 6000mhz CL36. This is my second set of this exact ram from G.skill. Now if you want to overclock your (already overclocked memory) above 6000mhz then you are absolutely going to need an aftermarket cooling solution to achieve stability above 6000mhz. I am perfectly happy finally getting the advertised XMP Profile of 6000mhz 36-36-36-76 at 1.3v. This review is for 2x16gb. For users with 4x16gb, you have other problems as running 4 sticks (64GB) has its own issues entirely.
Assuming that your board can run it with XMP II (vendor timings), incredibly solid ram for most workloads if you want to set it to XMP II and forget it. Paired with a 4090/13900K, hit 70fps in CP2077 w/ OD (Path tracing).I didn't have much luck overclocking it on an Asus ProArt z790 board - even to 6400mz.I recently upgraded to 7600mhz RAM which required custom voltages, isn't as stable, and only benefits a specific workload. Unless you want bragging rights or are doing some non-gaming memory intensive work, stick with this.
I have the Asus X670E RoG Crosshair Hero motherboard and a 7950XAs we know, 6000Mhz memory speed is the "sweet-spot" for clock rates, so with this memory rated as CL34 at 6600, that means it should allow for tight timings at 6000.In the end I was able to get it stable at 30-34-34-95-130 at 6000Mhz and 1.40vNo problems with the RGB.I never tried at 6600Mhz. Not much point really with AM5.
bought this ram. Hard to get. XMP settings worked. Got a few more fps. Sadly it died on me. motherboard showed bad ram. Had a bad luck with a bunch of my stuff lately. Meh replaced them. ohh well.
