Great for Ryzen 3000 builds

I upgraded to this RAM on my ASUS ROG Strix X570-E gaming motherboard. My old Gskill FlareX Memory was not on the Motherboard QVL list so I was having issues at POST. The system would want to start retraining the Memory "Q code 14, 15, 14" on every boot after about 30 reboots when enabling DOCP. When it did that, it took the system a good 30 seconds longer to post. If I ran the memory at 2133 mhz, I had no issues. This RAM is on the QVL list, and I'm hoping that the post issue is resolved. I've done lots of testing, and this RAM is very stable, and my games no longer freeze while in game. The RGB is a nice touch as well. I will update in the coming weeks on stability and longevity.

So I decided I wanted a little more RGB in my originally 'Stealth Black' build. Had recently upgraded to the Ryzen 3 3600, so figured I'd take advantage of some extra speed (3600 vs 3200) in exchange for raw capacity (2x8 vs 2x16). These things kick all kinds of booty. Installed, booted and right away they were working, set to the correct speeds, advertised timings, all that jazz. Perfect RAM for AMD Systems
6 July 2020

Bought Ram, installed RAM, selected XMP profile, booted PC, works perfect! This RAM is supposed to be optimized for x570 boards and Ryzen 3000 chips. Each stick has been selected and tested for this type of system. I have not had any issues. It has the new Hynix d-die memory, which is 17nm compared to samsung b-die which is 20nm. This is the only memory out there that is "new".The memory looks great, the RGB works perfectly. The light bar on this RAM looks much better than any other brand.I have run a few benchmarks, and this RAM is definitely running fast. Charts showing I am getting performance comparable to a 3700x when I am running a 3600.I highly recommend this RAM if you are running an AMD chip.

Prefect for Ryzen
7 November 2021

16GB is more than enough for general gaming. Compared to other retailers Micro Center has the best prices hands down. This ram kit is perfect for ram hungry Ryzen. Make sure to boost your clock speed in your bios to get the full 3600mhz otherwise your stuck at 2666mhz but hey this ram is fast enough to game and either or. I would definitely consider getting a second set. If all that doesn't sell you, the rgb will!

Pretty good kit of RAM, albeit with some gripes
20 February 2022

Pros: This is a really good looking kit; the two tone silvery and black brushed aluminum make for a spectacular appearance. Timings are pretty tight and even though I didn't do any concrete testing there's bound to be an improvement from 3000mhz to 3600mhz.Cons: The LEDs are quite noticeably dimmer in comparison to Corsair's Veangeance RGB Pro modules, and sometimes you can see hotspots through the diffuser. Not really sure if this is the RAM's fault but games such as Forza 5 and Crossout have been crashing intermittently ever since I got the kit.

Purchased to expand my RAM from 16GB to 32GB
6 September 2022

I was wanting to upgrade my setup for playing games like Valorant, Ark Survival Evolved, etc. as well as be able to handle streaming and daily work tasks I have to handle without any hiccups. Upgrading to 32GB has been a great help to provide the additional room for multitasking and making sure games don't seize up while streaming. I previously had the same 16GB duo stick setup but with an 18CL and accidentally bought 16CL, but I have not run into any issues and if I do, I can just update the 16CL to 18CL within the BIOS.

Stable FPS with R9 3900X

These RAM has done an amazing job for me. Quick run down of what I was running into and didn't ever think these ram would solve my issue. My setup is a 3900x on a Asus X570 mobo with a RTX 2080 and 32GB 2x16 G. Skill Ripjaws V 3200 cl16 and 1 TB NVMe SSD. While playing COD Warzone, my fps would start off around 100 - 120 fps. After 3 or 4 rounds my fps would steadily dip to low 40s on occasion and never go above 80 fps anymore with bad stutters. I would occasionally have to restart WZ just to get it back above 100 fps. Changing the graphic quality to lowest wouldn't do anything.I Decided to get these Trident Z neo since they were optimized for AMD and it's also faster. Heck even having the graphic setting to max with ray tracing on and my fps was still stable above 100 fps depending where I was in the map for hours of gameplay.Again not sure if these were the fix but using these has done me right. Would definitely recommend if you are on a Ryzen setup.

Try twice
3 October 2021

Bought from an open box: rams seemed fine at the beginning. However, once I turned on XMP/DOCP it would give me tons of different blue screen errors. No wonder why they returned it… however, microcenter tested it (maybe at stock?) and put it back to be sold… they need to test the rams at advertised speeds so this is bad on microcenter.Returned and bought a new pack: worked like a charm. Fast and reliable… so just beware some rams from g skill may be faulty.

Wouldn't Run at Advertised Speeds on one MB but did on another

Quick reply: I like the look of the Trident Zs and use them in a few PCs. These sticks had issues in an ASUS TUF Gaming B550 Pro motherboard but worked fine in an ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero MB. I feel they can be picky about the machine they are installed in and this is why I only gave them 3 stars. Long reply: I've used G.Skill Trident Z's in 3 builds to date. The first set (DDR4 3200) would never run with 4 sticks at the advertised speeds so I run them at the stock MB settings. That was with a Ryzen 2700x on an ASUS TUF Gaming x470 motherboard. I had read this is a common issue with this MB and chipset. The second set (DDR4 3600) works perfectly on an ASUS ROG Crosshair Hero VIII with a Ryzen 3900x using DOCP settings and Im very happy with them. The second set (DDR4 3600) works perfectly on an ASUS ROG Crosshair Hero VIII with a Ryzen 3900x using DOCP settings and Im very happy with them. The system these sticks were intended for has a Ryzen 5800x in a TUF Gaming B550 Pro motherboard. Setting the timings using DOCP, the PC would not boot. The MB would reset to base timings. I did try a little tweaking and was able to get the sticks to work at the advertised speeds with a slight underclock (1.30v). However, Im always wary doing something like this despite it passing the tests I performed. I had another PC on my workbench with an ASUS Crosshair VIII Dark Hero and Crucial Ballistix RAM sticks with similar specs. I decided to swap the sticks. The Ballistix worked perfectly in the TUF B550 MB using DOCP. The G. Skills also worked perfectly in the ROG Black MB so I left them there. In the end I have 2 PCs that are working but I was lucky to have extra parts to do some testing and swapping with this time. Based on my experiences, my recommendation is to be careful with the Trident Zs. They seem to work fine in higher end ASUS motherboards but not so great in the mid-lower-level ones. Unfortunately, I havent tried other brands so I cant comment beyond the ASUS boards Ive mentioned.
