QVL RAM for my ASUS Prime X470-Pro. Its like its meant to be. With both the MB and RAM being the same RGB, it just looks natural. Same brightness and hue etc. Can tighten timings to 18-20-20 @3666 @1.35v easily, 52,600MB/s 67ns latency. For some odd reason, I can change 18 to 17 in the BIOS, but in reality it stays at 18, very odd indeed. With so many options out there its hard to say what to buy, but in my case with an ASUS RBG X470 board, this ram is a very good choice. In case anyone is wondering its Hynix single rank A-Die. From my understanding you will not get these sort of speeds with the original Zen or X370 motherboards, but its rocks on Zen+ and X470. C'mon Zen 2 and get released, looking forward to see if I can squeeze a little more speed out of these ... MoreQVL RAM for my ASUS Prime X470-Pro. Its like its meant to be. Not all motherboards can run 3600mhz and most folks don't research their MB's Quality Vendor List before buying what exactly they need. PS: timing is probably more important than your MHZ speed. also some games are not optimized to handle high speed ram, ive had issues with Games SCUM, and DAYZ with my ram and had to dial back the in game settings. and yes i checked with both programs to make sure it was the ram causing me issues. This is no fault of the ram working as it should. games that play exceptionally well with great use is ARMA 3 which is CPU intensive. and it eats it up. NOW my graphics card is a gtx 780 but it still walks arma 3. ultra settings at 3km view distance rendering. this means the game can process information at that distance some people have it ... MoreNot all motherboards can run 3600mhz and most folks don't research their MB's Quality Vendor List before buying what exactly they need. Okay, there are folks giving poor reviews because the RAM "Doesn't work at it's rated speed." Allow me to explain something: DDR3600 is not a standard. This is an OC, Ryzen supports, officially, 2933Mhz. For RAM going faster than 3200mhz you NEED to consult the QVL of your motherboard and confirm that, yes, this memory of on the list. If it's not, it will not work and will default to 2133/2400/2933mhz (Whichever is supported by the board). The Mainboard that works perfectly with this is the Asus Prime X470-Pro alongside my 2700X the memory worked the first time and hums happily along at my all core 4.2Ghz OC. So if you're buying this memory, please... PLEASE consult your mainboard's QVL prior to purchase to confirm that the model number is on here. Great Memory, Stylish RGB modes
25 January 2020

New build, Installed in a MSI Tomahawk B540 Max using Ryzen 7 3700k. After first boot, it defaults to the 2100mhz speed for compatibility assurance. But, after turning on XMP, it automatically pops it to 3600mhz with the rated timings on sticks. Amazing! It doesn't get any easier! Did not have to manually set anything. The XMP set the correct voltage, mhz speed, and rated timings automatically. I was worried after seeing some reviews that i would have to manually dig through the bios to get this done correctly. I will be buying 2 more sticks in the very near future to boost to 32gb of ram, just for the hell of it. I wasn't worried about the RGB part of the ram, but I must say, it looks so nice along with everything else. Good job guys!

It’s different, but it works.

Overall my personal experience with this ram is 50/50. I purchased one kit that was plug and play in a crosshair viii board, another kit was put into a x570-e strix board and was a nightmare. I couldn’t get the advertised clock speeds no matter what I tried. So many boot loops, black screens, and crashing. Asus and gskill are hit or miss together. After spending hours upon hours researching and trying to get the kit to work with my strix x570-e.... its 100% a bios problem on asus side. Anyone who has this kit on any asus board, if you cannot get the advertised speeds it’s 100% the bios. Do some reading and find out what other asus x570 users are using as a bios and update or downgrade to that. It will save you the headaches.

I recently built a new ryzen based pc. I needed something now, but my intent is to upgrade to ryzen 3000, so I spent good $$$ on the parts that’ll carry over, but went more value oriented on what I plan to replace. That being said, it’s a 2600x on an MSI B450 Pro Carbon, with 4x 8GB (32GB) of this ram, and an MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z. I didn’t do any QVL checks or anything before purchasing, but rather went with this 3600 ram for it’s looks, price, and “X” model name indicating ryzen support. I initially only purchased a single kit (2x 8GB), and a few weeks afterward purchased the second kit. I’ve never had a problem with the XMP 1 profile (3333, CL18-22-22-22-42), however I’ve never got system to post with XMP profile 2 (3600, CL18-22-22-22-42). With this ram, my PC currently is the third fastest 2600x + RTX 2060 system in 3d Mark Timespy with a score of 8248 during a tweak and benchmark session on May 25th. In everyday stable closed case and noiseless operation it scores ~8020. I don’t think the $$$ for b-die ram would have justified the extra cost. I’m very interested to see how ryzen 3000 with my B450 board will perform. I might chose to upgrade to an X570 platform however, in which case I’m super interested to see what I can really get this ram to do.

This kit requires 1.380 volts minimum to run. It takes 1.40 volts on cold boot just to post without the bios erroring out. Luckily the asus C7Hero that I have can separate out those two voltages. There is another issue. No mobo manufacturer has this kit on their QVL. Which means XMP will only work for the primary timings. You have to enter the second half of the timings(subtimings) manually. This isn't gskill's fault per say. But it is a big issue. It's definitely not plug and play, unless you are running at 2133. And lastly, I don't give a flying F about rgb. I'm not 12. I was just looking for a ddr4 kit that would work without issue on the fastest cpu/motherboard amd has to offer. With this kit, you can get there, but only running out of spec and manually. That is not what was advertised. 1.4v on ddr4 needs more attention than an afterthought, a wink, and rgb lighting.

Stopped working months later
6 July 2021

Worked fine at first, or maybe never at all because I hadn't pushed my PC to do much. But lately many of my games have been crashing in the middle of playing, sometimes even blue screening. I didn't think it was a memory issue because my computer recognized the sticks, but eventually I did more research. I decided to test the sticks by doing windows diagnostic, reseating them, changing the slots, and testing them one by one vs my working sticks that I had previously (same brand, size, everything). The windows memory diagnostic only detected a "hardware issue" with these sticks I bought during Black Friday and that wasn't even a year ago.

Syncing issue
24 October 2020

Running 2 sticks on Aorus Elite board. Apparently the pattern syncing is a known issue. Why they don't fix it, I can't comprehend. Doesn't appear to matter which mode the RAM are in, they don't stay synced. One runs faster than the other. Even in the default rainbow mode. I tried some of the alternate effects using RGB Fusion and they all appear to have the same problem. Very dissappointing. If the sticks didn't look so good I would have given it even less stars since the RGB effects are why these types of RAM are purchased.

I mistakenly bought the wrong kit I built a ryzen system originally with 2x8 f43600c18d-16gtzr marketed specifically for ryzen systems when I bought the second kit it was not the ryzen version sku slightly differs f43600c18d-16gtz fortunately the second kit registers. I was unable to use default xmp profiles however the system will not accept xmp settings or manually clocking the kits to 3600. The first kit gtzr is listed as supported with my board but unfortunately it is not stable at 3600mhz. I have manually clocked the ram to multiplier 32(3200mhz) 1.36v and have had no issues since. Overall I am happy with the ram and how the kits look in the build, I can also be happy with 3200 speed. What I've learned it's based on your silicon luck great value though for both ... MoreI mistakenly bought the wrong kit I built a ryzen system originally with 2x8 f43600c18d-16gtzr marketed specifically for ryzen systems when I bought the second kit it was not the ryzen version sku slightly differs f43600c18d-16gtz fortunately the second kit registers.
