Good deal on open box for a new build, unfortunately XMP setting would not work with AM5. EXPO for AM5 usually boosts the voltage for the SOC and so with a small bump to voltage (well within AMD's own recommendations for EXPO) and a small bump to the memory voltage (also well within manufacturers tolerances) it boot up at the XMP settings after a small delay, approx 30secs. Ran MEMTEST for long duration and came back with ZERO errors. Been working perfectly since. Had to remove one star for the messing about but in its defense the memory wasn't specifically advertised as EXPO, though it might have caused a headache for someone else.

XMP/EXPO sub/secondary timing on this kit are pretty loose. you can tighten them up a lot. tRAS can easily go down from 96 to 28, for example, even with the new AM5 lower voltage limits. attached a picture of my settings and voltages. i can probably tighten the up some more but at this point the benefits aren't worth the possible stability issues.i've installed a few of these kits in the various systems i built. you don't need 1.4V that these are configured with from the factory. it should run fine at 1.35V even when OCed. 1.3V is doable depending on your luck with the silicon lottery

I got this kit and one of the LEDs on one of the sticks didn't work. So I returned it and got a replacement. But heads up!! I noticed on forums people are complaining about this exact RAM kit dying after 3 - 4 months. So I decided to get a 2 years warranty just in case. My kit happens to be Samsung so we'll see what happens in the future. So far I've had it for about a month.Other than that RAM works just fine and I even managed to get tighter timings. Both XMP profiles work as well on Asus Prime Z790-A. I would advise getting a different DDR5 6000mhz kit if you don't plan on getting warranty from Microcenter.I've tried TeamGroup T-Force 32GB DDR5 CL32 6000mhz but it would not work on my setup no matter what. Kit looks and feels solid, heatsink is slick and the RGB is great. The specs on this kit is excellent since this is Hynix-m die which can be easily overclocked. The default EXPO profile seemed to be unstable for me until I raised the voltage from 1.25 to 1.3The real winning play is using the EXPO 1 profile on your motherboard, then raising the speed to 6000 and raising the voltage to 1.35 and you have yourself a stable and absolutely stellar kit of DDR5.NOTE: I was using a Strix B650E-I for my testing and have had zero issues after making the voltage change, followed by equally rock solid performance with the OC profile at 6k 1.35v. I highly recommend at least a little bit of airflow over the dimm's since high temps can make a stable kit or overclock unstable. ... I built a new pc and when I first got it running I did a memtest86 on the ram. It came back with over 4700 errors. I've just had to send gpu for rma and now this. A lot of times there is no display. If I unplug gpu and run from motherboard I/o it usually works but forget about gaming with an igu. Im not sure if the ram corrupted the gpu update or what. I just bought new ram so if my problem still persists, I'll change my review. I've bout g skill 6 times now and while I needed to rma one set I put it off. But gonna send both in. Current system is asus z690 rog strip-e, this ram, evga 1080 ftw hybrid, wd black, Samsung 970 pro and and brand new Samsung 980 pro, evga 850 g3 and intel 12900k. This kit works great with my Asus Strix Z690-F board and 12900k. No complaints. I was able to fire XMP right on up and I didn't have to touch any of the IMC voltages. Be warned.... DDR5 memory can get hot but I'm not having any issues with this kit. Thanks to a voltage regulator being located on the stick, the RAM temps can jump up while the system is running a program that uses lots of RAM. In the past I never had to worry about what the temps of DDR4 memory were doing, but with DDR5 I have to keep my eyes on the RAM temps. I see RGB memory fan kits in the future. No.... despite what some Youtubers have said.... DDR5 and DDR4 RAM are not compatible with eachother. That guy should have known better. From the get go I was having problems with the RGB lighting using the MSI center and was unable to get the RGB lighting to work without having to reset the software to maintain the lighting as desired. Have been unable to achieve a successful stress test on the new PC. After running a test on the RAM it was discovered that the RAM had 4 errors. There are many reason why the stress test could have failed. The RAM runs at 1.4V out of the box with XMP enabled. I believe the RAM needs a little more proving or for other parts to catch up. For users with 4x16gb, you have other problems as running 4 sticks (64GB) has its own issues entirely.
Assuming that your board can run it with XMP II (vendor timings), incredibly solid ram for most workloads if you want to set it to XMP II and forget it. Paired with a 4090/13900K, hit 70fps in CP2077 w/ OD (Path tracing).I didn't have much luck overclocking it on an Asus ProArt z790 board - even to 6400mz.I recently upgraded to 7600mhz RAM which required custom voltages, isn't as stable, and only benefits a specific workload. Unless you want bragging rights or are doing some non-gaming memory intensive work, stick with this.
