I bought this as a second mat to use on holidays. It’s lighter than my main mat (a big consideration) and therefore easy with to walk to yoga classes. I always use a mat towel so I can’t comment on the stickiness. It’s got good cushioning and has no lingering smell. The Velcro strap is a snug fit so I am using another strap to carry it so I can carry my towel too. Overall, fits my needs.

Love the size and convenience of the mat, also that it comes with an easy to add carry strap. Good weight and thickness. Only issue/thing of note I've personally found is that it's not as sticky as I would have liked. Im not a big sweater (light to medium during heavy cardio), but even during an intermediate yoga session, i find myself consistently wiping my hands on myself to try and stick to the mat better. My hands and feet slide against the mat. Again, could just be me. Great otherwise.

This mat is very cushiony and good for all sort of training if you need that extra cushiom and comfort like myself as i have bad knees. Now if you use it for Yoga be aware that as soon as your hands and/or feet get sweaty the mat becomes very sleepery, not sticky at all. Forget about hot yoga. The mat is very heavy though it comes with a rope for easy transport and the quality is really good. It is pricy in my oppinion.

This mat had a description of being ‘ultra sticky’ so I thought it would be a good fit for me as I am a heavy sweater. As soon as I received this mat I gave it a quick try and it was incredibly slippery. The discription also says it has a premium textured side(the blue ‘top’ side of the mat.) that was even more slippery than the other side. This was disappointing and misleading. This mat would be semi manageable for someone that barely sweats or maybe someone doing entry level low impact poses. Would not recommend.
Good quality and easy to clean. I bought my first one in early 2020 when we need to bring own yoga mat. Gym used to provide yoga mat, but stopped because of covid. I used my first mat from Gaiam for nearly two years and it is still in good condition. So I bought exactly the same mat as I leave one at gym and use one at home. I am very happy with the quality and comfort. I would recommend to everyone if you like the comfort with 6mm thick, easy to clean and carry. Nice dark blue color
I bought one of these a year ago. It's not my first yoga mat but it is the most expensive one I've bought and it also has the dubious honour of being the worst. I found it super slippery. Not super sticky at all. I've followed all the manufacturer instructions for making it "stickier" to no avail. It's a struggle to maintain essential poses like downward facing dog. The only upside is that it's thicker and more comfortable for people with slightly dodgy knees.
The Gaiam Ultra Sticky Yoga Mat 6mm has just the right thickness. It is comfortable especially when you are doing yoga poses lying on your back. It's sticky feature prevents slipping and grips your feet and hands into place. It is easy to wipe clean after every session as well.
I bought this mat specifically because it was promoted as being 'ultra sticky'. I was extremely disappointed. Gaiam has a good reputation but this mat does not deliver. Both sides of the mat (top and bottom) has a slick residue on them which meant I was slipping quite easily and with no perspiration on my hands. I tried cleaning both sides repeatedly - there was some little improvement but not enough to make it acceptable. I've now gone back to my original $8 K-mart yoga mat, while it's not as thick as this one it has better anti-slip characteristics. This mat doesn't work. The reason I gave it 1-star is the 6mm thinckness is good.
I don't like it. The mat has patterns/intented lines in it that push in your hands, so the texture is bad, that doesnt actually help grip but just isnt well suited to yoga where your hands push into the mat as they hold your body. It wasnt extra grippy as the ultra sticky suggests. I got it because I wanted to be sustainable and get a durable, good quality mat (instead of cheap junk to landfill soon). It seemed like the best option. It doesn't have any recycled content or not made out of any sustainable materials, but Rebel had NO option with such credentials.
I was really disappointed with this yoga mat. I read the reviews before purchasing, and as the majority were positive, I decided to buy it. I am a beginner at yoga, so this is the first time I've bought a yoga mat. I was hesitant to buy it because of the price, but thought as it was a reputable brand, and from a specialty sports store, I decided to go for it.The mat looks quite nice, is soft and well padded. However, it is far too slippery on my hands. I guess when I read that it was "ultra sticky" I wrongly assumed it meant to your hands, but I guess it means to the ground surface? I can't even maintain beginner poses such as downwards dog without my hands slipping. I thought it might be because I was too sweaty, but I tried again, completely dry, and my hands ... Or maybe my hands and feet are exceptionally slippery...
