This is suitably cushy if your wrists or knees are a little sensitive (although I also use a blanket for my knees). I love the vibrant, two sided color. The painted design and foam does tend to flake a little bit. I haven't noticed this in past yoga mats, but it might be the color that sets it off. I see little turquoise specks on my floor every few times that I'm wiping down the mat at home. Good for the price.

Although there is a glue/acetone smell initially, just air it out outside and add some essential oils. Smell goes away. Great quality, beautiful design, very spongy. Happy purchase! Highly recommend.

I bought 2 of these mats recently. They both have a horrible toxic smell. I have tried airing them out in my garage, but all that did was make my garage smell. I will be returning them as I do not believe they are safe to use.

This mat a good length and width and thickness. I only gave it 4 stars because there is a very intense mustard smell to the mat when the package was opened and it was unrolled. So I had to air it outside in the sun for the entire day, turning it over to expose both surfaces. Now that it's been aired, it's fine.
I have this mat in two colors now, one I’ve been using for almost 5 years. When I ordered the most recent one I was concerned about the smell given others’ reviews and its barely noticeable. I am very sensitive to smells, especially chemical ones, and I literally can barely detect it. Not sure if there are certain colors that smell stronger than others? Or packaging/shipping differences, but I didn’t experience the overwhelming smell others note. The mat came secured with a small paper wrap, in a cardboard box, but it wasn’t wrapped in plastic, like many mats are at first. Maybe that’s the difference? For the price, this is one of the most durable mats I’ve ever owned. And I love the dual designs on each side. It’s a great everyday mat.
I liked the Teal Mandala design and the option for reversing it to the overall swirly design on the other side. However I found the texture dry and less grippy than the mat I eventually selected, the Bronze Medallion.
Don’t bother wasting time on color selection, because you’ll be sent a random color anyway. I ordered teal and received gray - which isn’t even shown as an option. Also this mat smells SO strongly of plastic. I unrolled it to air out and stuck it in a spare room and the whole house smells. Disappointed on both fronts...
The mat is beautiful. Unfortunately it's almost completely unusable. I've been fighting the smell for almost a week now - I've tried vinegar and water, I've tried soap and water, I've let it air out outside all day and in the bathroom all night for days, and I wipe it down daily. Nothing works, the stink always comes back. I don't feel safe using it.
Vibrant color and excellent thickness for hard floors. I use the Lotus flower side because it helps me position myself correctly during poses. I sweat a ton during yoga and find myself sliding around 20 minutes into a session. I have another Gaiam mat that is 7 years old and I don't have this issue. My only conclusion is they must have changed the material. I will keep trying it but will probably have to wear yoga socks to mitigate this issue.
So i bought this yoga mat for my home workouts, i do not actually do yoga. we have hardwood floors and its so much more comfortable to do workouts on my hands/knees with some cushion. have brought the mat outside for a workout and really love this mat for what i needed it for. the design is pretty and it does not slide on our hardwood.
