I purchased this ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce GTX 1650 for an AMD Ryzen Linux Mint system I was building. The 2D performance was decent though never breathtaking. When playing simple 3D game titles like Minecraft, the card would work fine for about thirty minutes, then would hit some wall and it was stutter-city after that (maybe five FPS or less). Because I don't run Windows at home, I got tired of the unreliable Linux support and sold it.

I have made many friends online in the gaming community since the beginning of the pandemic, but my PC just wouldn’t play any of the bigger games. I had enough after two years and decided to upgrade and I’m so glad I did. I found this graphics card on sale. It was a breeze to install. I did need to upgrade my PSU on my PC but it was definitely worth it.

The 1650 Super is a passable card for gaming. Obviously, as of 2021, if you're looking for a GPU on eBay, God help you son. Desperation is a stinky cologne, but the 1650Su is probably about as low as you want to go for a new card, depending on the kind of system you're building. The only downside, it can't do 10-bit, but I think that's an NVENC limitation in general. So bottom line, this is a okay budget/low end gaming card, but an absolute unit for Plex servers.

Nice graphics card, and plenty powerful for what little gaming and graphics I do. This replaced the original AMD card in my older Dell XPS 8700 (i7-4790 w/ 24GB ram) that had developed a very noisy fan. This GTX 1650S is very quiet and getting good FPS (around 75 fps) in the games I play, even at the max quality settings. The only problem I had was getting the card seated into the PCIe slot. The end of the card is a tight fit with the end of the memory slots in the Dell XPS 8700 motherboard. One of my memory cards wasn't clicked in all the way, so the memory slot release lever was sticking out a little further than normal. Once I figured that out and got the memory card clicked in, it made just enough room to get the graphics card in the slot. Create a custom fan curve that matches my tolerances for noise level and acceptable GPU temperatures. My problem is this card is advertised as being overclocked and should be done for me. Also I am not comfortable personally deciding what are acceptable temperature limits for this specific card which I did not design. Now if the manufacturer provided specific information or guidelines on acceptable settings and temperature limits I would feel differently. In short, if you want to unlock the true potential be prepared to do so yourself. This little guy will help bridge that gap when I build my new rig later this year and I can upgrade to a 300/400 series GPU.It's quiet, runs everything my 970 could and even more, easy to install, and it doesn't take up as much space as the larger cards.This is the perfect card if you want to get into gaming and want to build a budget machine, you won't regret purchasing it and I had no problem doing so myself.It features two Displayport connections and one HDMI and it will support three monitors. Even when I overclock the GPU with a moderate overclock, I begin to notice a slight stutter. This is happening because my CPU begins to bottleneck the card. Anything over about +25 clock from afterburner, and I begin to see a bottleneck. Right out of the box, this card is an exact fit for anyone else running a similar situation. (Keep in mind my CPU is also overclocked). I went from a gtx 770 AMP, to this 1650 super. There is a huge upgrade on the ram as the 770 I was running only 2 gigs. And overall, I went from high settings to ultra settings by changing the card for the games I play, and now having a card much more capable of playing any newer titles I get into. Simply been a fantastic upgrade for my system, so it can gets its last kicks in style!
Used in an Ubuntu Server with a compiled version of FFMPEG with the Nvidia encoding headers. Can handle upscaling an incoming RTMP 1080p60 to 2160p60. Be sure to install the Nvidia CUDA toolkit which will simultaneously install the latest Nvidia driver before attempting to compile FFmpeg. An important flag to run is “-extra_hw_frames 8” or else ffmpeg may fail to function.
only play world of warcraft classic/retail and wanted the 1660 super but it was out of stock and needed a card today. had 30$ in discounts to use so applied them and got a good deal on this 1650 that was already on sale. Once installed have been playing wow lich king exp on full ultra settings at 60fps +/- avg. I'm happy as i usually buy more high dollar cards in the 300-400 range that were overkill just to play wow.
