Gamblin Gamsol Odourless Mineral Spirits is a petroleum distillate but all the harmful aromatic solvents have been removed and is regarded as a non-hazardous material. Ideal for use in classrooms and studios due to there being no solvent odours. Gamblin Gamsol Odourless Mineral Spirits is used to thin oil colours. Stiff oil colours immediately relax when a little Gamsol is added. If too much solvent is added to the oil colour it can compromise the ability of the paint and it forms a film. A little goes a long way. It is ideal for cleaning up your oil painting tools - brushes, palettes, palette knives etc. Gamblin Gamsol Odourless Mineral Spirits can also be used to modify and thin alkyd resin paint mediums. It should not be added to natural resin painting mediums (Dammar, copal, mastic). Solvents should be stored out of reach of children. It is reccommended to NOT pour solvents into mason jars, coffee cups or plastic cups. Instead use metal containers with clip on lids or wide glass jars with screw on lids for storage.
