"Stickerless" cube with stickers?

With regard to calling it stickerless, I think that is easily misinterpreted, but it is meant to refer to the colored blocks which are stickerless. With regard to (2) I do not think it is right. I think it is cheap to introduce a "special edition" cube that simply contains a set of stickers, and it weakens the collectability of the cube. I would have liked to have seen GAN manufacture the parts with the artwork printed on them.Furthermore, the stickers are very difficult to remove from the paper backing - many of them did not want to come off at all without peeling the paper up with it. There are no "tabs" attached to the stickers to put your fingers on so that your fingerprints are kept off of the stickers. Keep in mind that these stickers are transparent with red print. Think of a screen protector for your smartphone, if you've ever installed one. They come with alcohol pads to remove any grease and stains (this cube did not contain any alcohol pads and came with oil on the white surfaces), sticky paper to remove any fine lint from the surface, and then the adhesive protector itself has tabs to hold onto so that you can apply the screen/sticker without touching the transparent item that will be stuck to your phone (in this case cube). I do not think that any attention to detail was spent by GAN on applying transparent stickers to a white background and to making the stickers easily removable without pulling up paper.I bought this primarily for the artwork and collectability and I am very disappointed that GAN did not manufacture the parts with the artwork printed on them and did not market a quality sticker application system.

I've chosen this setting because the corner cutting isn't good at 0.6 and the cube lockups frequently due to this. But 0.8 setting is a bit too fast to control. So you need to put some heavy lube on the tracks to slow it down. Personally I set it up by putting some weight 5 lube at the tracks of edges and some weight 1 on the corners. After setting up well, this performs like a true flagship, but ONLY IF YOU KNOW HOW TO SET IT UP. If you're not atleast sub30 or sub20, don't spend so much money on this cube. If you're like just sub30 and you don't wanna spend good amount of time setting it up and want a good cube just out of the box, then go for rs3m2020 (Buy extra magnets for rs3m2020 since the magnets are very weak). This cube turns really really well and you get moyu spring compression system too. But the plastic feels cheap, although you can't expect more at 699/-. So buy this cube only if you want a GAN cube at a tight budget and you have prior experiences of setting up cubes. Hope this helps.

Great (but still not amazing) value!

I bought this cube off the premise that it was a GAN 356 X but with a different core, no interchangeable magnets, and for almost half the price. It did not disappoint. Turning is smooth and fast OOTB with a small tad of crunchiness. Compared with the X V1 and XS (both of which I do not own but have tried), the turning is lighter but has a similar feel to the X V1, and is not as light or smooth as the XS. The magnet strength is similar to the medium setting on the XS, giving it a subtle click when turning that gives a slight bubbly feel. It comes OOTB with the blue (second weakest) springs set to 0.6 (the tightest) tension, and in this state it is usable but to me it was slightly too unstable. I tried the green (second strongest) springs on 0.6 tension and it was still slightly too flexible. As a result, I have switched it to the yellow (strongest) springs and set the tension to 0.6, meaning this is the most stable setup possible on this cube. To me this makes the cube stable and controllable, with a rigid, snappy feel, but still fast. Though I feel like the blue (second weakest) and purple (weakest) springs are too flexible to use for two-handed solving, I think that they would be good for one-handed solving as they make the cube very fast and easy to turn. As for the frosted coating on the tiles, they are slippery at first, but you do get used to it and the coating apparently does rub off eventually. All in all, even though this is still a 32$ puzzle, it does still represent good value for money compared to GAN's other magnetic cubes.

Great! GAN 356M is one of the best cubes out there
17 September 2020

It’s matt plastic may be slippery, but turned entirely grossly after a few hundred solves (as shown in the picture). My main advice would be not to solve this cube without lube as it may slowly wear away the honeycomb design. Pros - Unique smooth feel caused by the honeycomb design - GES Spring system for even tensions on all sides. - Easy maintenance - quick to disassemble and put back; no screwdrivers required - Medium magnet strength would be comfortable for most cubers - Extremely light, yet it does not feel flimsy - Moderately silent - Feels and looks exactly like a GAN X V2 Cons - If you’re used to a MoYu cube you might experience some lock-ups. Chances to lock up increases with looser spring settings. - Corner cuts 45 degrees at looser tension (0.8), but not ... MoreIt’s matt plastic may be slippery, but turned entirely grossly after a few hundred solves (as shown in the picture). Chances to lock up increases with looser spring settings. - Corner cuts 45 degrees at looser tension (0.8), but not with ease. At the higher tension (0.6), it’s tougher to cut 45 Old Review (after 3 months of use): The tradeoff is a little too much coming at this price. If you want better corner cutting you need to deal with lock ups and if you need avoid that, you would need to forego the corner-cutting luxury. You can get cubes where this tradeoff is minimal at less than half the price of this cube. Coming from a MoYu GTS-2M, I expect the cube to be more “forgiving” in terms of this tradeoff, but was able to get good times nonetheless. I’ve been cubing with this for 3 months, but my recent purchase, the RS3M 2020, simply blew this cube away. Is it the best GAN cube for its price, absolutely! Is it the best performing puzzle for this prize, absolutely not! Buy this only if you would want a GAN cube; it is design is pleasing, the feel is pleasing, it sure is unique. Updated review (after 1 year of use): Amazing feel! This cube kind of grows on me. It’s simply fantastic and I find myself tough to put it down just because of its unique feel. After trying out all the springs, I ended up sticking to the default blue springs, it seems perfect for me. Since I rarely ever use the bag or the box, you can save even more if you buy the standard version of the cube.

Great... for some people.

This cube has a smooth and tactile, crunchy feel. And in a good way. The frosted plastic makes it looks really good, and isn't slippery at all. Though I would recommend the RS3M if your looking for a puzzle to start you off, because its as good(or even better)and costs much less. For beginners, this cube is great and comes with an easy adjusting system, but for more advanced solvers, I would recommend getting the Gan 13 or the Tornado V3.

ONE OF THE BEST CUBES I HAVE EVER SEEN......

See I can understand that the cube's price is wack but this cube is just worth it. I will try my best to describe the cube... It comes with a really smooth turning out of the box with a really fast and unique feel. It also possesses great corner-cutting. It has decently strong magnets and I feel you don't need to change the magnets in this for the customization. The magnet strength choice is already very good because of how smooth and light it feels. I would personally recommend the normal version because of the different GES nuts which you would need because as the cube gets older it requires stronger springs...I would recommend the green springs set on 0.8 but you can see what suits you better... The moment I unboxed the 356M and started turning it, it was something unlike anything I've ever felt. The only time I've ever felt a GAN cube was when I borrowed my friend's 11M Pro at a competition and the feeling of the 356M is quite similar, but keep in mind this is coming from someone who averages low 30s, so my opinion might be disagreed upon by perhaps better cubers who have been cubing for longer. It's a terrific cube for what it is. It is beautiful and streamlined. It's very light, and the magnets, are just right. It's got pretty decent corner cutting (though, it still locks up once in a while), and it's very fast. My son and I both cube and I bought this for my son (8 years old) as a gift for getting sub 30, and he managed to cut several seconds off his time with this cube.I gave this four stars because it's a little pricey for a cube that isn't maglev. (After using a maglev cube, I'm completely sold on that technology.) $35 is what a maglev cube should cost because it's new technology. But this is what my son chose and he loves it. (I enjoy using it too).
