I love these soaker hoses. They are good quality and so easy to connect and disconnect. Also the termination end can be removed, the hose cut shorter and reattached so you can customize the length to exactly what you need.

I don't know if we just don't know how to use this soaker hose. It cannot be closed on one side (pressure does not build up) and it cannot be attached to other soaker hoses (for me that is a must). It seems like it can only be used with other Gardena accessories.

I purchased 2 of these soaker hoses last season - used for 2 months at the most. Come winter, I rolled them up to store them away for the season. Just unrolled them a few days ago and the two hoses snapped and broke apart like cork. I obviously did not have the receipts (my fault) as this was definitely not expected. I would not buy this item or recommend this item. I was able to uncouple the connectors and reconnect the two longest part of the hoses that I could salvage. Their other line of outdoor irrigation is great which is why I was surprised that these were GARBAGE.

The Gardena Soaker Hose presumably does what it is said to do, except that for my use the water dispersion is much too little. It likely would be best for a flower bed whereas I wanted it for my front lawn. I may drill more little holes in it so that water can squirt out more and cover the lawn better. Would not buy it again.
This seems like a decent quality soaker hose 50-ft seems long but after routing its short for our garden luckily I bought a second one and they easily adapt. Water distribution is very good. After using this for a few weeks now I will not go back to a garden sprinkler again. The soaker distributes evenly and evaporation is minimal. I have only had them for about a month and can only hope they will last for a number of years to come.
Purchased this last year at a higher price point, it was wrapped around the base of my cedars, actually 2 sections. Saved the cedars during the heat that we had (50 of the 7' hedge cedars), problem with the quick couple was handled by disassembling quick coupler to clean out debree in them from rubber hose assembly. After a winter on the ground and being used for the last 4 months, found squirrels eating the hose for the water I think, can't be the rubber, I think they would get constipated. Anyway were can I purchase this tasty hose only, no where it seems, the fittings would last for 50 years, the hose is in 3' sections with teeth marks everywhere else, one suggestion I have is when it gets dry out to have a couple of buckets of water in place for the wildlife and ... MorePurchased this last year at a higher price point, it was wrapped around the base of my cedars, actually 2 sections. I bought this hose for a new garden being planted. The bed was prepared and the hose laid out for length on the soil and tested and worked great. The hose was then pulled out of the bed and coiled up on the grass for planting taking precaution not to kink the hose.Planting spanned 7 days due to rain and some drop in temperatures (drop to 1 degree celcius at night). During this time, the hose remained coiled up on the grass beside the garden. It was not touched or moved and we don't have any kids that could have caused damage to the hose unbeknownst to us.After the plants were planted, the hose was picked up to lay it amongst the new plants and it fell to the ground in 3 separate pieces and the hose was brittle and deteriorating. We don't use chemicals on our ... MoreI bought this hose for a new garden being planted. It was used once for a 5 minute test and was only purchased 15 days ago. I can't believe how quickly the hose deteriorated after being in the sun/elements for 7 days.
I am totally annoyed at these hoses, I purchased 2 of them placing a Y in the middle, to feed 40 cedars I purchased and installed, they seemed to work on a daily basis for about a month. At which time they closed the holes up, not allowing the water to weep out, I've since drilled holes and they plugged up, either the rubber is failing and plugging up the holes internally.Bottom line I lost 12 trees to these hoses, we had a hot spell for a week and watered but the hose has let me down
We've tried other soaker hoses, particularly those with only intermittent holes along a flat hose, but these are by far the best. The even distribution of water along the length of the hose is far preferable. Also, the round shape means that you can cut the hose into lengths and attach new ends if you don't want 50 feet all in one place or if you get a leak. They are fairly pricey if you need a bunch of them, but worth getting. I'm too lazy to take them up over the winter and they've lasted very well. The snap ends are very easy to use. These mean I can water my garden through the worst droughts without running afoul of municipal watering restrictions. There is far less wasted water, since it delivers the water directly to the roots of the plants, rather than into ... MoreWe've tried other soaker hoses, particularly those with only intermittent holes along a flat hose, but these are by far the best. My only complaint is that they did not have any at my local store, and I had to go to a larger centre to get some.
At first I was going to return the item. I had used it to supply water to newly planted cedar trees and the length was just right. It worked great for two days but then in the last 6 inches of the cord it sprung a huge leak which was spraying way too much water. I narrowed the issue to user error, I was running my tap at full capacity. I ended up cutting the last 6 or so inches and reattaching the end cap which was very easy. I then only did a quarter to half turn on the tap, that was enough to feed the soaker hose with enough supply so that water drips were coming out through the whole length. It has now been running on and off for a week or so and hasn't sprung any new leaks, as intended. So user beware, don't run the water supply at full, instead user a low ... MoreAt first I was going to return the item. So user beware, don't run the water supply at full, instead user a low pressure setting that the hose can handle. It would have gotten 5 stars if this was more clearly stated. Hopefully it survives the chilly winters we've lately been getting in the BC lower mainland.
