The GARDENA 2hr Manual Water Timer automatically switches off your garden irrigation. The unit is simply connected to the tap and can easily be operated using the large rotary dial. Once the pre-set time has expired, the water flow will stop automatically. It comes with a GARDENA Hose Connector (18215-20) offering a leak-free connection at the tap. The shutting-down of irrigation is automated and does not require batteries or other power sources giving you peace of mind. The watering duration can be set anytime between 5 and 120 minutes and can also be set to manual at any time. Engineered to last with high pressure - rated to 80,000 test cycles at 1600 KPa. The rotating swivel Tap Nut Adaptor, suitable for ¾” and 1” taps, allows the Water Control to be connected to a tap that is located very close to a wall. Bought this and already on day 1 the minimal amount of waterpressure blew the dial off and the thing stopped working. Bought them at Bunnings and trusted this brand but not any longer. Have not even asked for a receipt, so this one could go straight in the bin.Gardena never again

Don't buy this product. I thought it would be better than others I've used because it is claimed it is made in Germany. Within 2 weeks it failed, completely draining my tank and I'm in the middle of a drought and rely 100% on tank water. Don't risk it.

Have had this for a few months and so far it's been very unreliable. Half the time when I set the timer for 20 minutes... an hour later it's still going, or until I realise. Today it was 3 hours. When it does work, it works well but being so unreliable makes it basically useless and a huge water waster. I might as well put a timer on my phone and shut off the system myself. I unfortunately didn't keep my receipt.
Poor quality. The face popped off of it within a week of usage. It only appears to be glued on.Not sure why this one is more than double the price of the others when the quality appears to be just as poor.
Previously been buying cheaper tap timers (approx $20) but the only last about 2 years before failing. Bought two of these Gardena 2 hr timers from Mitre10. Both failed at first use. In one the complete face piece was ejected from the tap during first use. Luckily that stopped the water flow. Ther second tap at first would time down past 20mins so kept watering. When I tried this a second time, then the face part also partly separated from the base, but not enough to stop the timer. It is clear that the 4 clips holding the face plate are faulty. Never had any problems in the past 10 years with the cheaper timers.
I worry about plastic watering tap fittings however after two months its highly reliable. I would suggest like us to have it away from direct sun or if not have it covered from direct UV sun.
I bought this to replace a cheaper version which soon split. It's basic functionality is all I need to manually operate my sprinkler system. It's well built and performs reliably (so far). Being made in Germany, with a 2 year warranty, and UV stabilised, gives me confidence that it will last.
Very unreliable. If the whole front casing doesn't fall off when the timer is running, then the timer may just choose to run as long as it likes, overnight last night in my case! Spend an extra twenty dollars for a reliable brand.
I have used this product for many years. My current one, which I have had for three years, is exposed to the full western sun and in dry weather is used every day. It is totally reliable. Last week, I purchased a second one for another part of the garden.
