Brilliant and discreet dashcam and speed camera detector.

Superb dashcam and speed camera detector. The magnetic mount is the best I've seen and it's so easy to remove it. Much better than those rubber suckers that others use. It switches off when not needed, so there's no distraction and the screen only comes on when it's needed to warn you of cameras or traffic light cameras. It's so tiny and discreet and the image quality is superb. This was bought for my wife's new car but I like it so much that I've ordered another one for my car to replace my Blackvue dashcam that has no screen and no speed camera warning. I bought the parking lead and had it hard wired for 35 by a local auto electrician as I hate leads trailing over the dashboard. All in all I'm absolutely delighted with it.

I got this 2 weeks ago after lot of shopping around. 66W is a smart and compact dashcam and i have liked the features of lane departure alerts and forward collision alerts which also gets recorded. Impact detection feature is great and it records few more seconds after it detects a stlop. Incase of any incident you are covered. Connecting the Garmin through an android app is super cool as it helps you to see all the recordings in order to select any specific clip you want ro look at. The 66w is itself a wireless network which you would see on your phone's wireless network list. So anywhere anytime you can see what's in the 66W and it all is possible as you connect your phone to the 66w through your garmin app over wireless. Dashcam resolution is nice and sticking it ... MoreI got this 2 weeks ago after lot of shopping around. 66W is a smart and compact dashcam and i have liked the features of lane departure alerts and forward collision alerts which also gets recorded. Really good dash cam for the price. Benefits from the option to add up to 3 additional cameras so would be good if you need rear view or all round if used on a van etc.. Intuitive to use though small size can make the controls a bit fiddly when mounted. However, can be hidden behind rear view mirror to avoid distractions when driving. Comes with an additional shorter lead which means if you need to download footage via cable this can happen without demounting the camera. Well worth shopping around for deals.

Great Garmin!
21 May 2021

The cameras and the advice leading up to my purchase and subsequent installation were all to do with Matthew at The Dashcam Store. He took the time to run through all the different models of cameras and the pluses and minuses. I went away for a month and did my homework and after a month came back gladly to have helpful Matthew install two cameras - one front and one rear. I couldn’t be more pleased with the result! Thank you for going the extra mile Matthew and thank you for being patient with me, explaining everything and answering my questions. A great job skillfully executed and a great result. Thank you 🙏🏻

Not happy with the product. Customer service is pretty good
14 November 2021

I cannot say I’m completely satisfied with this product. I have had other Garmin dash cam before and they performed fine. We purchased two 66W , the first one we had to return it because it was designed for a different country. They did replaced it.The cam in question not recording consistently. The lane departure function doesn’t seem to work, had a few close call and nothing was captured. I spoke with someone from Garmin and did the rest. Next step is a replacement/ return. Hopefully this helps someone

Good Points: Tiny. The magnetic windscreen fastener is brilliant, much better than an large sucker that obstructs the sun blind.180 field of view.Improvement Points: It did not come with the kit to hard wire into a car. My garage adapted the longer of the 2 cables provided.

Control your dash cam with your voice. Just say "OK, Garmin" to save a video or still picture, start/stop audio recording or start/stop the Travelapse video capture feature. With a wide 180-degree field of view it captures the environment - including most cross traffic - and includes detailed time and GPS location data, pinpointing exactly where and when events occurred. It records nonstop in a continuous loop. Fits neatly behind the rear view mirror, magnetic holder, for windscreen, one of Garmins best, excepts up to a 64gb micro sd card, high Endurance 10 or above. Only down side, the dash cam gets quite warm after a while, but still works perfectly.

Very impressed.
12 October 2020

I had purchased two Garmin dash cams in store last year so when the same went on sale I purchased four more for my parent's car. Very easy to order and pay. They were sent as expected and the dash cams are great though the supplied cable was not long enough to conceal the rear cameras. Will contact Garmin for a hardwire kit or longer cable. Thanks JB. Very happy with my additional purchase.

Wide angle, great quality
1 November 2020

Upgraded from the Garmin Dash Cam 55, so new generation (currently 56, etc.), but decided to go to the wide-angle view. Initially, I thought the regular 140-degree view was better because has better resolution if the video needs zooming later. I realized that was inconsequential. It's not the same as if you were doing cinematic video and needed to zoom in, losing pixels. So I opted for the much wider view which now sees side streets and vehicles next to me. I like it. The newer Garmin app is a vast improvement in functionality and ease of use. I like that you can coordinate more cameras at a time (up to 4, I believe) and I like that I can view the camera in near-real time on the app. It lags about 1.5 seconds behind the actual view. Good form factor, simple controls (but the menus are a pain since you have to work through submenus and sub-submenus at times, but that's uncommon after setup). The video quality is excellent, especially in HDR, although you lose something in frame rate. I recommend you get a 128Gb card so you can go much farther back if you need to review later. Recommend the 56 and 66W. See photos. The moon is visible in the night shot.
