If you're ready to take your training to the next level, Forerunner 410 can get you there. This advanced sport watch is GPS-enabled and accurately records your time, pace, distance, heart rate¹, elevation and more. Your training plan may be difficult, your watch shouldn't be. Forerunner 410 sports an enhanced touch bezel that lets you quickly scroll and select features on the run, in all types of weather. When your workout's done, Forerunner 410 keeps working. It wirelessly uploads your data to Garmin Connect site when in range of your computer so you can go back and review your run on your own time. It works via ANT+ wireless technology and the USB stick that comes with your watch. No wires, no manual uploads, no sweat. Forerunner 410 features HotFix satellite prediction, which means it locks onto satellites quickly so you can be out the door and on with your run in no time. It also has a high-sensitivity GPS receiver to stay locked onto satellites, even near tall buildings or under tree cover. While the 410 can be worn as a watch even when you're not working out, you can also power it down completely in order to conserve battery life.

I was pleasantly surprised when my Forerunner 410 arrived. It was much smaller than my Timex Ironman Trainer and band is very comfortable. The bezel is clear and easy to read. Getting used to the touch bezel was difficult at first but it is easy enough after some practice. The GPS settles in pretty fast here in the North Ga. mountains which is why I got rid of my timex. This watch also tracks a ton of info that I really don't use just yet but I am intrigued by some of it and with time I will learn more about this watch and I do love the ant+ feature. I am very happy with it so far and at the refurb price it's a bargain!

I've owned the forerunner 205 and the 305 previously. They were very simple to learn. The 410 has many menu's to get into to set the watch up. At times it can be confusing. Called Garmin on a couple of questions. They were quick to respond. Heard comments from other runners to stay away from this model because of the touch bezel. I'm just now getting use to it and love it.

Frustrating touch bezel on otherwise awesome watch

The watch works well once it is all set up, it is accurate and so cool how it automatically uploads to the commuter with the ANT+ stick when you get back from a run. But the touch bezel can be pretty frustrating. It seems to be overly sensitive when you so much as bump it, but when you're touching it intentionally it takes 3-4 tries to register. If it weren't for the price, I wouldn't recommend, but it's hard to find a better value with HRM included. And that function works well - and for ALL workouts, even with GPS turned off for indoor cycling and treadmill workouts.

Great Watch
16 October 2012

I have the Garmin 405, and I recently bought this 410 for my wife. Like the 405, it picks up the GPS signal quickly, and works very well. You can turn the 410 off, which is an upgrade from the 405... nice. When I get really sweaty, my 405 sometimes randomly changes screens on its own. This is very annoying. They seemed to have fixed this as well with the 410. This watch is a great value, and I highly recommend.

Great so far...
17 January 2013

I bought this a few days prior to running a half marathon at Walt Disney World. I really liked the real time current pace. Prior to this I would us my iPhone to record my runs and would only get pacing at certain intervals during the run. When I got home and downloaded the recording of the half marathon I found the track to be very accurate. It even showed the short track off course to use the restroom, and the weaving through traffic to get around slower participants... which I never got using the iPhone.

Great value for several functions
2 April 2013

I had a Suunto X10 that cost $500. Did not have a heart rate monitor, but it did have an altimeter. The software crashed repeatedly and I sent it back to be fixed several times. The 410 is 1/3 the cost of the X10 and has been much more user friendly. It takes a while to get set up, but looking at workouts is really quick and easy once you get going. The wristband is either too tight or too loose and itches my skin.

Not optimal for multi sport
18 January 2013

I bought this item to replace a forerunner 305. My intended uses were running and cycling. Overall it is fairly similar in layout/logic to the 305. There are a few key differecnes. One clear advantage over the 305 is that it tracks up (finds satellites) really fast and in heavy cloud cover. However, it seems to be designed much more as a running device than a multisport device. With the 305, you could press and hold a button (cant recall which one) to toggle between sports. With the 410, changing sports requires a deep plunge several layers into the menu structure. The bigger problem is that the screens are not sport specific--i.e. unlike with the 305, you cannot configure one set of screens for running (ie. with pace, average pace, etc) and another set for biking ... MoreI bought this item to replace a forerunner 305. Reconfiguring the screens every time you change workouts would be incredibly tedious. You can configure up to 3 screens so you can put all the info you would probably want onto these screens but you are going to be living with screens you don't want/need at any given time (i.e. you will have a screen with cadence and mph when you are running and a screen with pace when you are cycling).I also find the touch bezel to be kind of hinky.Bottom line, I only paid $150 for this device, so I am reasonably satisfied; but if the price were much higher than I would recommend paying up for the 310xt if you are going to use this for multi sport. I do think it is excellent if you are using it mainly for one sport, esp. running.

Very pleased with my new Garmin watch!
20 June 2013

Pros: Love The Way It Works, Looks Great - RefurbishedCons: Short battery lifeOther thoughts: This watch showed up looking brand new, even though it's refurbished. It works perfectly, is easy to use, and is basically what I had hoped for. The batteries seem to need to be recharged more often than I anticipated, but no real big heartache there. Just remember to pack your charging clamp and AC adapter with you.

Waaay too small
21 January 2017

Pros: It's got cool features, but it did zero good to the user if you can't wear it...Cons: So small that I couldn't wear it. I'm very in shape, so it's not a matter of too much fat on my wrist or anything. This watch is genuinely for people with small wrists.Other thoughts: Maybe they should have stated something about the size. My regular watch that I wear is a Suunto, and it fits great. Guess I'm sticking with that company

Would have got the 610 had I known...
5 November 2012

Pros: Large User Base, Youtube Tutorials, Compact Design, Easy To Use, High Quality, Gives A Quick Reading, AccurateCons: Heart Rate Strap Bunches, Expensive, Touch Bezel ControlsOther thoughts: I love having detailed records of my runs/workouts - time, distance, HR, pace, map, etc. The bunching HR monitor strap and the quirky touch bezel are just small irks and do not affect the function and data results. Now that I know how good the Garmin Forerunners are, I would love to upgrade to a 610. The 410 was spendy enough but has turned out to be a winner and is paying off with every workout.
