This premium heart rate strap tracks runs, swims and more. It transmits real-time heart rate data over ANT+ connectivity and Bluetooth Low Energy technology, giving you more training options. Consistently receive accurate heart rate on your Garmin device, in online training apps such as Zwift or even the compatible fitness equipment at the gym. In addition to heart rate, HRM-Pro captures running dynamics that can help you improve your form. That includes metrics such as vertical oscillation, ground contact time, stride length, vertical ratio and more. The device stores heart rate data during swimming or other activities while your watch is out of range, then sends that data to your watch once the activity is finished. It will also store steps, calories and intensity minutes, then sync them to your watch as well. HRM-Pro features a small, lightweight heart rate monitoring module that is no wider than the width of the soft, comfortable strap. And don’t worry about running out of juice. The user-replaceable coin cell battery lasts for up to 1 year.

As a long time Garmin user, I tried using just my Forerunner with the optical HR data for several months after my previous Garmin Run HRM (red oval seal) died. The data HR was not accurate and many of the more complex data components are only available with the strap. I upgraded to the HRM Pro (lime green oval seal). I’m glad to have all the data again and also feel this version is going to hold up better to sweat.

I am pretty deeply embedded into the Garmin universe. I recently started some more aggressive training and decided to add a chest HR monitor to my gear list in addition to my wrist based monitor. The chest monitor is much more responsive to acute changes in my HR. I found it surprisingly comfortable to wear. It easily integrated into all of my favorite apps, etc. I definitely enjoy using it and quality seems top notch.

Purchased to replace a Garmin Tri heart rate strap which had begun to fail after a couple of years hard use. This strap has performed flawlessly so far. I've not used it swimming in the sea yet, but for cycling and particularly running it provides great additional data about your running stride; leg turnover; gait and balance. Essential to really help you understand how to run quickly.

The Garmin HRM Pro offers a lot of functionality, especially if you have a Garmin watch and/or use Garmin Connect. It holds swimming data on board for later download. All the fancy running dynamics. Dual ANT+ and Bluetooth for reliable connection. Sensor is encased in a cover so you don't appear to need to pull off the sensor for cleaning. And usefully it tells you on Garmin Connect it's battery level. I am mainly riding at the moment, which is pretty basic duty but I DO need a reliable connection for Zwifting. The Pro replaced an earlier / cheaper Garmin strap which was glitching... was it the battery, the connections, ...? Changing battery is fiddly and annoying and it didn't fix the problem so I went upmarket with the Pro as a replacement. Purchased the HRM pro because of the running dynamics and Bluetooth connectivity. Both features have been as-expected.Connection to my Garmin watch and computer have been easy, no need to moisten the connection pads. Seems to connect faster than my other Garmin and Wahoo HRMs. I have not used my other HRMs since purchasing HRM Pro.The only issue I had so far is the strap detached once during my treadmill run.Only been using it indoors for treadmill run and cycling trainer. Hesitant to use it in the pool due to the reviews I have read. When weather permits, looking forward to using it outdoors. This device is quite expensive, so far no regrets.
Easy to use and highly accurate heart rate monitor. Very comfortable to wear during all kinds of activities. If you are looking to access all the features of the device, be advised you need another Garmin device to connect it to. Without said Garmin device you will need another app configured to record workouts (e.g. Strava). It works well with Strava. I would have given 5 Stars if Garmin Connect app allowed you to record workouts and get the data without extra Garmin device.
My first one died within six months of buying it, after using it for running and cycling. The second one (warranty replacement, thank you Pushys team) has died nine months after I received it, again after only being used for running and cycling. Neither were used in heavy rain, so weren't drowned. It's a shame, as previous Garmin red and blue HRM straps have been excellent and lasted for years, but my experience with the Pro has been poor. When it works it's accurte, and being able to pair to Zwift via Bluetooth is partly why I bought this. I don't think I'll buy another one after this experience.
I have mixed feelings about this hrm and maybe I'm doing something wrong. It might come off as a b**ch review but it's just my experience so far. I have a garmin tactix charlie watch, free by the military, which is ANT+capable. I am on my second HRM Pro and neither have worked consistently. Here's the background.I'm doing HR runs now, MAF method, so a HRM is key to this bc hr on any watch is complete trash and not even close to being accurate. I bought my first hrm pro beginning of May and it worked everyday for three weeks then on a Monday it wasn't accurately reading my hr. Nothing changed as far as my warmup and my watch said "ext hr connected" as it did the previous three weeks. Nothing changed as far as my warmup and my watch said "ext hr connected" as it did the previous three weeks. I gave it a few days to do some troubleshooting but only worked maybe four times the following three weeks. Bought a second one a week and half ago, didn't work the first day until last 10 minutes of the run, worked the next two days and hasn't worked since, have done four more runs. My pace has increased while hr has remained the same at 143 but now it's showing my hr is between 110-120 at a 930 pace which I know in completely inaccurate.I've warmed up on the treadmill for 8 to 10 min before each run, increasing speed to see if that helps, soaked it in water, tried saliva, cleaned it properly, nothing worked. Not sure if those who have said it works actually track their hr and know what it is or can tell by feel what it's around. For $130, I'd expect this thing to work better than the Polar H10 and I don't want to switch bc their watches are outrageously priced.Thoughts, suggestions?
Bought the Garmin Pro after my previous Garmin HRM failed. After 18 months with a change of battery, the new battery only lasts 24 hours. I’ve tried different battery brands to make sure that it’s not the battery. Tried inverting the battery as per forums with no luck. It’s funny my daughter has a Polar HRM and has had it for over 5yesrs. Battery’s have been changed only twice and it work’s brilliantly.Sorry Garmin your product for the money is rubbish, and going by the forums there are a lot of other unhappy customers with the same problem. If you have a Garmin that accepts Bluetooth do not buy a Garmin HRM. I hope this helps your customers in the future make the right choice. Stick with a Wahoo or a Polar.
I use it for running with my Garmin watch and for a Peloton. It's connected seamlessly without issue so far, and I like the dual connectivity. The running dynamics have been useful as a beginning runner (tho overwhelming at first). I've been able to figure out that I've been favoring my left foot, and have been working out some other cadence and stride issues that I think had previously led me to injury. It fits ok and seems like it's built well, tho I do wonder what'll happen when the strap breaks down since the pod itself is permanently attached to it.
