My bottom line up front: With a true, one size fits all and user replaceable cuff, I would have given the Garmin Index BPM 5 stars and would definitely buy it again.Easy to setup and pretty intuitive to use once you get to know the three buttons and their functions. I bought this item thinking it would be nice to have my blood pressure measurement automatically upload to Garmin connect. In reality this item is a big disappointment. First off the the measurement cuff takes two hands to operate. Very difficult for one person to put on. The other problem is the tiny three buttons to operate the unit. There is a icon on each button but since there is no contrast like painted icons you can't see what each button is. I would guess that the primary market for this item is for older people that have less then perfect eye sight this does not work. I own several Garmin products that I love. This is definitely not one of them. This should have been better vetted before going to market.
I have been using my Garmin Index BP for about two weeks. I really enjoy the automatic updating on the Garmin connect app. More and more I have been using Garmin products to measure stuff. I am 54 and somethings become much more important to overall health (before this age actually). I can no longer ignore elevated blood pressure or weight measurements. I really don’t want to start on medication and so have chosen to spend some money on a blood pressure monitor that automatically sends measurements to an app that I’ve been using for some time. The price is competitive as well. It may be a little bit more expensive than other blood pressure monitors but I feel it was worth it. It is simple to use to get a 3 measurement average in the morning.
If I could give "0" stars, I would. The device read 20-25 mmHg systolic and 10-15 diastolic higher than a calibrated OMRON 7-Series Upper Arm Cuff and a 7-Series Wrist Monitor. Brought GARMIN Index BPM to my HCP, and the readings were consistently higher than the manual readings. My BP fluctuates throughout the day, based upon, but not limited to, the morning surge. 104-64 to 128-78 is my typical daily range. Garmin Index BMP recorded readings in Stage 1 and Stage 2 hypertension ranges consistently. My Garmin Connect app is connected to my Apple Health app, which is connected to other apps. Inaccurate recording and reporting of BP in health databases could result in the rejection of life-insurance or the designation of a preexisting medical condition to payers and ... MoreIf I could give "0" stars, I would. Love my Venu 2 Plus fitness tracker and the Index S2 scale. But will not repurchase the Index BPM until they fix the design flaws resulting in inaccurate readings.

I think of set up should be super simple for non technical people, this was not. Should have been a simplified set up cheat sheet/card right at the top of the box to walk a user through.The band has three harder areas that for me make it hard to get on just right as one of the hard areas is right where it needs to fold so I get pinched out an awkward fit. My other one is soft the whole way around.The three buttons could be a single button, again user experience is lacking. I received as a gift for Christmas and I was very excited to use it. It's easy to use and the data screens in Garmin Connect are easy to understand. However, there are 2 suggestions for improvement.1) I do feel that sometimes the readings are over the top high- I take the readings immediately after I wake up in the mornings. There are definitely some outliers. When reaching this there are others that feel the same. Just something to look into.2) I am 48 and my reading this AM was 127/79 which is "elevated" by AHA standards. However, if you go to a doctor's office, they will not challenge this number. I mention this because there is a fine line between Elevated and Stage 1 and also an area for concern. There were many things I was looking forward to, like being able to have multiple users on the same device and having my data automatically stored in Connect. Unfortunately, the experience was so bad I returned the Index BPM and this makes me question the value of other Garmin products. First, it limits you to 5 characters for names? That's ridiculous, why doesn't it just pull your name from Connect. Second, it wouldn't actually let more than one person connect to it and have their data automatically upload to Connect.
