I think it's a great watch and not one that I'd be concerned about banging around. Kettlebell workouts, working on my car, house projects, etc. I have no concern for the watch. I don't think I'd feel the same way about a Fenix if I were wrenching.The watch suits my needs for workout and daily data. It's rugged and holds up to the tasks that its exposed to. I don't need a color display with tons of apps or music streaming, etc. The battery life is pretty darn good and I'm still working on running the battery down after owning it for a couple of weeks.I'd definitely recommend this watch for those looking for basic functionality and durability.

There are some other training tools I use that I wish had better integration with the Garmin ecosystem so last year I decided to try a Samsung Watch 5. Great, it is comfortable, provides a lot of data, great battery life and looks good. Two things I think could have been done better: 1-I wish the colored LED Flashlight was red instead of green. I don’t know why they chose green for the tactical watch. We use primarily red lense. And the other is that you have to sync with the app daily in order for the weather to remain updated and the find my phone function to work. That’s kind of annoying. I don’t know why the sync can’t happen behind the scenes without having to actually open the app. All this to say I actually love this watch. I wear it daily and I’m about to take it on a thru hike. If it disappoints me I’ll be sure to post an update.
I purchased my Garmin 2x solar a little over a month ago, since I already had a garmin instinct which the battery would only last a day in hiking mode. The 2x solar last over 24 days in hiking mode,(tracking my pace;miles per hr., altitude, time. Ttl. Miles, heart rate, day & date.) All on on a custom screen option I set up on the hiking screen, on the watch. I am completely satisfied with my purchase. Mostly, not having to charge every night when thru hiking is great. I needed to somedays down load to my phone and charge up and start again hiking simply because of not enough battery life on my other garmin instinct. Now I don't have to do anything but hiking on! Seeing how much sleep I am getting in between calls is great information, and the body battery feature is great at reflecting how much energy I may or may not have coming off shift the next day. Solar charging keeps the battery up for a while and I have only had to charge the watch once so far after rigorous use. Let me start by saying that I was immediately sold on getting this specific Garmin device when I found out about the solar charging and the built-in flashlight. Both of these features have been functioning with no problems. The smartwatch and fitness are absolutely fantastic and function as they should! I can easily track my exercise and retrieve and respond to notifications from my smartphone. I am slowly learning and getting a hang of the other features and enjoying it! I appreciate the tactile buttons to use the device and not a touch screen because I would be worried about damaging the screen and/or something rubbing up against it and activating it. Overall, I am really happy with my experience! So far, so good! I wholeheartedly recommend it!
