Garmin Montana 750i with Motorcycle/ ATV Mount

Needed large screen to avoid waring spectacles.Very good reception.Lots of un-necessary apps causing clutter. Could be downloaded afterwards if needed.Battery usage heavy. Have not used expedition yetA smaller, cheeper and lighter unit would do most people exept for my requirement of large screen.

750i brilliant

Brilliant bit of kit. Glad I bought it from these guys. At first I was skeptical of how useful their training videos would be but omg - Garmin should link these gps training courses as essential viewing! Really helpful. If you get an “i” series then definitely register with Inreach and mapshare - a lot of fun.

750i is just the thing needed ....

Got the Montana 750i. Used twice so far. Unit is very robust. If fits in the windscreen mount very easily and the mount is very good. The unit is reasonably easy to operate once it is setup. Setting it up is not as easy as it could be. You end up with downloaded software and apps on the phone and it is not easy at first to understand how t fits together. Garmin needs to improve that. But the maps (Garmin Topo + Hema) are great and I am looking forward to many years of use with the added benefit of inreach. The guy at the Johnny Appleseed help desk was very knowledgeable and helped a lot with questions before I made the purchase.

I purchased my Montana 700 in October last year and have been using it almost daily since then for Geocaching or just general walking. My first Garmin was an etrex 30x, followed by an Oregon 750t and, having become quite hooked on Geocaching over the last 3 years, I decided that I would benefit from the much larger, and touch screen, that you get with the Montana 700, and that has certainly proved to be the case as it has more than lived up to expectation.The 700 is quite large compared to my previous models, but that has not caused any problems at all. Having made the investment, I decided that it was time to make the most of the kit, so I made full use of the numerous bite sized training videos provided free to buyers by GPSTraining, and I also signed up for the Base Camp webinar.Base Camp was always a bit of a mystery to me, and the webinair was a real eye opener. So much so that I have it bookmarked now and frequently refer back to it when planning walks to make such that I have everything optimised for the route I have mapped out.The days of slogging up steep hills only to find a simple path on the other side when I get to the top, or getting soaked crossing streams when a bridge is only a short distance away, are now, thankfully, long gone.Looking back, I was a bit of an accident waiting to happen at times!PS - Caching Name is 2QuarterPints and I am happy to answer any caching specific questions anyone may have about the kit.PPS - I am not getting paid for this review! Impressive piece of kit, easy to use

Had been looking for an upgrade to my Oregon 550 for a while, specifically something with InReach technology. As if on cue, Garmin released the 750i. While it looks like it was primarily designed for ATV, mountain bike and other similar activities I have used it exclusively on backcountry hiking. It is bulky compared with other 'hiking' GPS devices but the screen is beautiful and easily read in direct sunlight. Scrolling, zooming and plotting courses directly on the GPS is so easy. Menus are logical and navigation around the interface doesn't take much work. Battery life seems pretty good - I carried a battery bank to recharge it over a multi-day backcountry ski trip, but never needed to use it. A solid unit. Long time handheld GPS user, thumbs up!

I did a lot of research on this unit before I purchased and read some very extensive and informative reviews.I have used the previous Montana models for a number of years and this model tops the lot, the screen size is spot on and serves just as well in the hand as mounted on the vehicle windscreen.I do not find the extra weight or size a problem and I have carpal tunnel in my wrist and dupuytren's contracture in my hand.Also the larger screen size is a bonus with aging eyes.Do make sure the USB cover is properly secured I nearly lost mine in the field!Overall, a great unit especially for those wanting a unit that crosses as a vehicle mounted and handheld. Montana 750i

I wanted to upgrade to this for some time as it had more wireless/bluetooth capability than my 680t. Slightly larger than my other, which meant I also needed to upgrade all the supporting brackets for car and bike. Still learning how to use for geocaching, but very happy with the purchase.

Overall a very good choice - especially for out door activities.

The large screen is great. Sensitivity of screen great for those that wear gloves in their activities. I also found the ability to change the topo screen from Imagery/popularity/City Navigator an excellent feature. When using topo map in popularity it allows you to see the contours more clearly. The weight of the unit and the battery life may discourage some hikers from using it while Bikers will find it and excellent choice.

Very Easy To Use

I purchased this for navigating to mining claims. The screen size is perfect for the windshield mount and with the speaker in the mount it tells you when you are getting close to the coordinates. All the features this unit has is definitely top of the Garmin line. You can feel safe when out in the middle of nowhere having the SOS feature. You can also provide friends and family the coordinates of your location as well as giving them updates on your location.

Waste of money.

What’s the point in buying something is expensive if the battery life is very limited? Anything Garmon the screen has a crus battery life, But this unit you were lucky if you get 12 hours in standby and with use you can actually watch the battery decrease as you were writing text messages I have used all the power saving mode people don’t waste your money and if you can find something that’s not Garmon I would recommend you get that instead
