I don't even use the music streaming, or any of the other advanced features either. 11 days vs 4 days is a huge discrepancy regarding battery life, and this issue alone will likely be the ultimate reason I ditch the device.I honestly love every other part of the Venu 2, however the battery life might be the deal breaker after a few more weeks.If 4 days of battery life is good enough, then this is a great device with a ton of useful data.

I got this watch about a month ago and so far I’m loving the fitness tracking and battery life. One complaint I have has to do with the design. I think the ridges on the steel bezel of the Venu2 are problematic. They’re constantly getting stuff in them and are difficult to clean. Just make it smooth or use the same concentric ridges at the Venu2s! So much nicer looking and so easy to clean. I got this because I liked the design in images, but because of those ridges, it just kind of looks a little dirty all the time unless I wash it a couple times daily. I also have the all-black model. Maybe the silver and blue wouldn’t look as dirty? Wish there was a choice of all black with silver steel bezel. My other complaint and primary one is the compatibility with iOS. But unless Garmin works out the physical design flaws in the Venu2 steel bezel, I think I’ll be buying a different Garmin series next time.

Immediately I was happier with the Venu 2, that is until I noticed it does not handle conversation notifications well. Specifically multiple text messages in a group, or Slack messages, or probably any other communications app. The problem is it stacks the notifications newest at the top, so you can see the first notification and usually nothing more than that at a glance, so your watch will keep buzzing with successive messages but a quick glance does not let you see the message, you have to interact with the watch to scroll and dismiss notifications. I love the battery life, the trackers seem pretty accurate, the automatic step goals have been great while I've been recovering from an injury and not able to do my normal.

I’ve had this watch for about 1-1/2 months FYI. I like the features on this watch. It works well. Step and heart rate tracker seem to work well. I like the sleep tracking, as well. The notifications from my phone were a little tiresome to get working, but one day they just started. I do wish there was a distinction in different notification types coming from your phone. For example text messages and say weather alerts/stocks everything all alarm the same and are under the same notification in the watch. Really like the battery life. I have the watch tracking everything, so I am far from the 11 days of battery life. I get around 7-8 days after a ful charge. Honestly, it doesn’t matter for me, because I don’t shower with mine. So every time I get in the shower/brush my teeth I charge it. so it will charge for 15+ minutes and it will effectively add a whole days charge. So overall a very good watch.One thing I do wish is that the screen took up more of the watch face. It’s a great looking watch regardless, I just think it would be better if it went closer to the screens edge. Still overall I would recommend this watch.

The running data on the Venu 2 is basic at best. At the price point its at, it should also have all the running data and sensor support as the forerunner 245/255. Especially "virtual running" that allows your watch to pair with Zwift. It doesn't do that, but the Apple watch now does. 2. Personally, I hate the buttons on the Forerunner and prefer the touchscreen of the Venu 2. I've read about users complaining about the screen changing due to clothing contact... the screen lock prevents that. The battery life is pretty much its best feature. The software is awkward and really basic as it’s always been with garmin. You don’t make smart watches, just fitness watches. It Doenst have all the health, safety and security features of the Apple Watch. Sensors not quite up to snuff in comparison with Apple Watch 6 I had. I am annoyed that the barometer consistently fails to detect when I am going up the stairs in my house, which both Apple Watch and iPhone can do. HR sensor seems to be accurate enough. It should be, as this is gen 3. I have also gen 1 in vivosport and that is just unusable. Almost no apps to speak of. So to explain: Yes you -can technically- change the watch face. BUT See those fancy ones that come default as you scroll through the color options and models on amazon? Yeah. Those are LOCKED to that color / model. So for example, say you like the green version or the gold one with the different meters on it, but you bought you bought the black Venu 2: Sorry Champ' it's 1920 and you can't have it because we've Garmin artificially locks these watch faces. They cannot be downloaded from Garmin's IQ store and cannot be side-loaded. AND They can be deleted from your watch face gallery. So if you mistakenly delete the default one GOOD LUCK GETTING IT BACK without factory resetting your watch. So for example, say you like the green version or the gold one with the different meters on it, but you bought you bought the black Venu 2: Sorry Champ' it's 1920 and you can't have it because we've Garmin artificially locks these watch faces. They cannot be downloaded from Garmin's IQ store and cannot be side-loaded. AND They can be deleted from your watch face gallery. So if you mistakenly delete the default one GOOD LUCK GETTING IT BACK without factory resetting your watch. Something that, I assume on a fitness tracking watch, you would not want to do. Garmin, I have no words. This is the stupidest thing on God's green earth I've ever come across. It's software. If you're going to allow people to "customize their own watch faces" at least give them the option to have other ones from the same-or-lower price tiers installed. It's not 1926 anymore. Locking a watch face "style" to a smartwatch to try to sell different ones on a FITNESS WATCH is idiotic. Their customer support is getting the same "feedback" to hopefully pass on to an unread feedback hub. For such a forward-thinking and otherwise solid device, I shouldn't have to be trying to find grey-market install packs and learn what watch face files are formatted as, just to have the gray Venu 2 watch face on my black one. For what it's worth, this is unbelievably stupid and you've just lost a customer for life. <3
Great battery life, does a great job tracking my run stats and personal records. I like the Connect app, which can automatically update other apps like MapMyRide, Strava, etc. It sets default step and floor goals and tells you when you hit them, when you double them, etc. You can adjust these to your own goals. I don't care about steps and floors, and almost always exceed the default goals anyway. I found the notifications annoying, so I turned them off. The battery life is great. I bought the watch primarily for running and lap swimming. It also works great for biking, but I use my Edge for that. The swim tracker is great for freestyle and backstroke, but it always adds an extra 25 meters to my distance when I do breast stroke. It also does not track your distance when you use a kickboard. It's based on arm movements, so if you don't move your arms it thinks you aren't moving. Finally, it does not keep track of your personal records for pool swims like it does for runs. Overall I like it, but if you want a watch for swim workouts, look elsewhere.
Have been meaning to replace my aging (+3 year old) Galaxy Watch Active but haven't found anything satisfactory until this watch. On the spectrum of smart watch to dedicated sports/activity tracker, I wanted something that leaned more to the smart watch end; I would say this has more fitness and activity tracking, with satisfactory smartwatch capabilities.
