So far I hate this thing. I didnt know that I would have to hard wire it to my motorcycle. I am not sure why it doesnt come with a USB option for easy plug on. Secondly I cant get it to charge in my home. I have plugged it into the wall, nothing. I plugged it into my laptop nothing. Hard to find info on how tho charge it.

Started out great connected to my computer. Put it on the MC and worked at first then stopped turning on.Took it back to my computer and connected it and it was dead. A day later i tryed it and it came on and worked. Put it on the MC and worked one day and quit again and never worked again. Sent it back and forgot to remove my 16GB card... lost it also.

Have found nothing I don't like about this gps. The size is great for my motorcycle. I can see it in the bring sun shine. it read my text. All the sound comes thur my helmet. Right on with where to turn . Really like the new posted speed sign warning. Mounting is great. So glad I got it. And at a great price. Thank's for a great gps and deal.

The only good thing about this gps is that it is better than a smart phone (barely) for navigation. Now the poor parts. GPX tracks that are imported into the unit can not be customized to be clearly seen on the screen. The track width is too narrow to be adequately discerned from other streets and lines on the screen. The only thing you can change is the color of the track line. If you convert tracks to trips, the unit tries to grow a brain and give you the shortest route instead of the (dirt) route you want to take. Numerous forums have suggested Garmin fix these problems for years to no avail. If it wasn't for the brighter screen and better power connection, any number of smartphone apps would beat the Garmin software hands down.
Love this Zumo396 so far. It's my first motorcycle specific GPS and has some really cool features like distance to empty for your fuel, etc. Havent been on a long trip yet but excited to hit the road soon.
Great deal on a nice motorcycle gps. Has great specific settings to find streets with more curves. The only thing that is a pain is the keyboard only shows half at a time so it takes a while to type in destinations. Otherwise a good gps.
I bought this unit to replace on old Zumo that I am unable to update. I really like the WiFi update feature. Familiar to use. Im not very tech savvy, but I was able to pair it to my phone and headset easily. It took a little extra time to set up the unit how I liked and adjust the sound levels, but still very easy. Works well with gloves. Music access is easy too. I accidentally paired the phone to the headset as well, and the sound became confused. Now I make sure my pairings are correct. The motorcycle mount is easy to use and hook up. Only complaint is the screen is a bit small, but my eyes are getting old; so it may be me. It took me a few hours to do an initial download and set up: until I was comfortable using it before actually operating it while moving fast. ... MoreI bought this unit to replace on old Zumo that I am unable to update. If you're going from point a to point B pretty simple to use. If you want to use the other fixtures you're going to have to read the book and you're going to have to practice before you get on the road. Practice before you try to use it. This isn't a complaint because it's a good product and works as it says it does. But it's not like using Google.
This unit is an incredible gps. Its realiable, accurate and aff. It like the ol saying goes from a Timex watch commercial. Its taken a Lucien and still keeps on a ticking. This is my second one of its type. I have used this unit to lead group rides and have navigated school bus runs as well. A great tool
has some nice features such as picking routes with curves and hills. has a unique way of attaching to the power cords. Strange that the power cord to run the unit does NOT charge the unit. It has a second normal way to hook up a charging cord. Whoever heard of a power hook up that doesn't also charge the battery? That is a minor nuisance but what i found unacceptable is that the unit shuts off whenever if feels like it. i specified that it ALWAYS stays on, but to no avail. So, if you are trying to be directed to the right roads, what use is a GPS that shuts off. Now the one day it kept doing it, it was 97 degrees and i thought it might have been overheating, but it's done it on other pleasant weather days.
