I'll start with the bad but easy fixable - after using this for 9 gigs the nuts came loose on the handles. I tighten no problem. The extender spring button to lock the extension in place kept getting stuck - wd40 fixed that. Other than that this thing is a beast! Went through all kinds of terrain with ease (gravel, grass, hills, dirt, brick sidewalks). I highly recommend this to anyone moving a lot of equipment. I purchased this after much review of other similar carts due to the wheels being more durable. Very happy with this.

I bought this cart for the wheel size. Getting over cracks and curbs is a necessary aspect of entering and exiting facilities. I have photo equipment to transport but more importantly I have a Microscope Repair service with a large number of parts cases and tool chests to be moved into and out of schools with elevators and veterinarian offices. Being able to make fewer trips as well as navigate through the halls and elevators is a major aim for my owning this cart. One notable issue is that it only locks the carrying bed in two positions. For my needs one or two additional mid-range positions would make it easier not to be too long for an elevator or too short to get the needed equipment in or out with less trips.I like it but I am modifying it to fit my needs ... I love it. I used it for the first time last week. I was able to get both of my mackie drm 15" speakers on it along with two ariba bags with my uplights. My shure microphone systrm with case and 2 small storage tubs with all my cables in one load. All i have left was my table, turntable case and my facade as my second load. I love it and recommend getting it.

All things considered, it does it's job well. It carries a load and doesn't fall apart. I've had a few issues, though. One of the holes for the cotter pins on the rear wheels wasn't fully punched out, but I was able to finish the job with a screw driver and hammer and you wouldn't know the difference. The brake locks can be pushed past the on position to a position where the brakes aren't fully engaged.
The Gator 52 Utility Cart All-Terrain is a nice strong cart with large wide tires that have good traction threads. I thought that the width of the platform or bed that you put your cases and equipment on was about 19. The total overall width of the cart including the large rear tires or wheels is about 19.25. The bed or platform itself is 12 and a half inches wide. I did not have any problems with my 20 wide equipment case as long as I centered the case correctly on the bed. The grip tape helps the cases from moving and sliding on the platform or bed. Although I would like to have the bed or platform to be a few inches wider its probably wide enough for transporting most cases on. I would put it at the top concerning utility carts in this size and price range
Sturdy, great stability and robust wheels. It definitely is heavy - may have been better served using aluminum rather than steel. The expansion feature is sticky and with rust over time may be an issue. Otherwise, it really makes a difference in carting music gear.
Awesome cart for travel- can take hits in airplane cargo holds and keep going (with a little tightening and thread lock). The biggest con is static electricity- the wheels/bushings are all plastic (no rubber), and I've lost count of how many times I've gotten shocked. Concerned that I'm going to short-circuit my laptops/drives
I love that it has bars to release the handles instead of the wire system. The bigger size is incredibly useful. I can easily fit a pair of subs, mains, collapsible booth, and controller.
it broke just using it. The cart had me super motivated but it didn't last a single day. bad soldering, a problem that can be solved by just bringing the complete correct piece and not two small soldering stichs
👍This Gator cart is an upgrade in craftmanship and built as compared to the other brand RocknRoller cart which we had been using for 39 years. Our last two RocknRoller carts actually broke on a gig leaving us having to limp back to the van. One time when a weld joint just broke off and a second cart on a different occasion the rear wheel bushing split creating an unstable wobble to the entire fully loaded cart.
