I would highly recommend the Gearwrench 3-piece 90-tooth ratchet set. Overall I found this ratchet set far exceeded my expectations. The finish on them was excellent, and they felt like a ratchet I could use all day. The 90-tooth design offered a great range of movement while still providing strength for when more force was needed. While the head size on the 1/2in drive was somewhat large the 3/8ths and 1/4 was perfect. I feel these ratchets will provide many years of service.

Awesome set of ratchets for the price and for the garage warrior. I purchased these for my pops who is 65 and has been using the classic Craftsman raised panel ratchets pretty much all his life. After him using my Snap-On set of comfort grip ratchets he tried to sneak them into his toolbox. As my pops is getting a little older I wanted him to have a decent ratchet with a comfort grip. My pops has been using these ratchets for a couple of months now and he can't stop raging over them. I chose these over the XP120 due to the full size pawl, and this was a great decision. I'm happy to see my pops use these and always thanks me for buying them for him each time he uses these ratchets.

Recently got my hands on a 3 piece 90 tooth teardrop ratchet in 1/4,3/8,and 1/2 and brought them to work to use. First off the ratchets look and feel amazing. The teeth sounds month and uniform, no irregularities. Feels well balanced, lighter than my shop tools but very high quality. Most of my shop tools provided by my employer are allied and pro grade. They sound pretty much like a tank in comparison to the gearwrench and are a much lower tooth count. The gearwrench ratchets don't just look and sound better. Performance is a vast upgrade, with less swing required and much easier to get into those tight spots. The on/ off is comfortable and easy to switch. All three ratchets performed flawlessly all week in the shop. Lifetime warranty on the tools is great to have ... I have used the 90 tooth Gear Wrench ratchet set for a few weeks, these are my go too ratchets now. I have ratchets cost 3-4 times more money with the same warranty and less features(tooth count, slim head and silky smooth ratcheting mechanism). I have these in my tool cart because I use the just about every time I need a ratchet and I can't wait to get the flex head to try. Thank you Gear Wrench for a wonderful Quality product. Sincerely Justin
I received these great quality ratchets that honestly needs to be in every mechanics box. They have a good balance to them, not that awkward heavy on one end feel. For me I like to hear the teeth as I'm wrenching so I know it's getting the job done and not just turning back and forth and these things will stay on the whate er your cranking on, don't have that sloppy gotta use two hands action. One hand all day long, especially in those tight spots where finger action is all you get. I would have Givin a 5 star if there was a push button release for the sockets . Hands down will be worth every penny. Strong and durable, should last a long time . I know mine will, love these things.
My initial review of the Gearwrench 3 Pc. 1/4", 3/8" & 1/2" Drive 90-Tooth Teardrop Ratchet Set is a positive one so far. I have used the 3/8” drive ratchet and have found it to be a nice tool. I like the lower profile head and the feel of the handle. Compared to my current array of Craftsman USA 3/8” drive ratchets it does seem to work with a more positive feel. The ¼” drive ratchet has the same style thin profile head, but I feel like the handle is in the in between size. It feels too short for some jobs and too big for others. I would like to see a longer handle version of the ¼” drive ratchet that would work better for what I use in the bicycle industry. The 1/2” drive I have not put this through is paces yet but will get to that very soon. From a few quick uses ... I have been using the 90-tooth ratchet set for awhile now and been extremely impressed. The heads are much lower profile than my other ratchets which worried me that the narrower gears might not be able to take the abuse. However they have never once slipped. The ratchets action is really smooth they just feel good. I have always been kind of picky about ratchets but I have zero complaints with the Gearwrench set.
I've used rachets in almost every profession I've learned, including landscaping construction, welder fabricator, journeyman tech in a indy porches shop, sailed on a tanker and most recently settled as a pipefitter. So I don't know much about anything but what I can honestly tell you is these rachets are the best bang for your buck our there. You gotta ask yourself by what margin are products three times the price any better? Ive also broken a swivel rachet which was replaced speedily by warrenty to my surprise. I do prefer a longer handle but my internal torque wrench is calibrated high so I shan't complain. You first noticed the weight, both the 3/8" and 1/2" rachets could become cumbersome over extended but not enough to bother. Definitely low profile head nice ... Definitely low profile head nice for tight spots, the 90t functions nicely as well. If you're working in a trade and will be using these tools daily I strongly suggest looking into the swivel and flex head options with a cushioned grip.
This 90T ratchet set from GearWrench is an awesome value. The grips are great, the fit and finish is perfect, and the mechanism is great at the price. I have no complaints on these wrenches, they have worked perfect for me so far replacing every suspension component on a Silverado and haven't skipped a beat. I own a SnapOn quarter inch ratchet and the GearWrench ratchet feels almost identical. The case is thin but great to keep in your toolbox as well.
First of all, the ratchet set showed up exactly when they said it would. Bravo! The 1/4” drive works great in tight spaces (i.e., under dashboards, in engine compartments) and you can work with it with 2-3 fingers. The 3/8” drive is fantastic for general use, has a nice heft to it and not overly top heavy. The 1/2” drive, I felt was a little on the heavy side for the handle length and kinda top heavy, but that aside it still works as well as it’s brothers! Very nice set, very well made!
