Ordered this from amazon, by the link from this website. Item received in soft bubble wrap packaging. Locking mechanism was engaged and flopping around in the bag like it was unlocked. Opened package to find the locking mechanism was in fact broken and doesnt lock at all. Honestly its easier to position the head when the lock is on vs off, but totally defeats the purpose of a LOCKING flex head.

We got this and used it to change our oil filter housing and it was such a useful tool and saved us time. Great addition to your tool box.

I’m not sure anyone needs 120 teeth in a ratchet. The finish is superb and mechanism works well. There is ton of backdrag and the teeth engagement feels a little weird. While it does seem to remove fasteners somewhat quicker I think an 84 tooth ratchet is more than enough, provides better feel, and provides space for a thinner ratchet head

This slim head 120T ratchet is really sweet. The lock is much better the the previous models. The flex head has plenty of detents that lock the head in position. The smooth ratchet ing action is great. This has just become my favorite 1/4 inch ratchet. The head is about 1/8th inch smaller that my other GW 1/4 inch ratchets.
This is a great little articulating wrench that will help with hard to reach angles on any project you're working on.The head on this will swivel about 140-150 degrees, and easily locks in place with a lock pin that just needs to be pressed to release the head and pushed back in place when you've found the right angle. I've found that this has worked pretty well with some automotive projects and hard to reach angles for some furniture assembly. This is a 1/4" drive so I haven't put a lot of torque into this, but the action is smooth.
The most used socket ratchets in my shop are the 1/4" drive size. They are the most useful for everyday fixes and projects. I have at least a dozen in all sorts of varieties. I keep one in my SUV's cup holder for small emergencies. (It has saved me from being stranded 3 times!) The flexible heads are the most useful. I had to get the new GearWrench 120XP 7" 1/4" Drive Locking Flex Head Ratchet #81054. It has a much slimmer head and features a push button locking head position. The push button is quick and simple to lock/unlock. The Flex Head locks in 9 positions over a roughly 180 degree swing. You don't have to lock the head position. The gotta-get-me-one feature is the new 120XP gearing. It has TWO 60 tooth pawls instead of a single pawl. (Yet in a 22% slimmer ... This allows for 3 degree clicks instead of 4 degrees with the older single pawl 90 Tooth version.Being this is GearWrench means the tools are built for heavy use and come with a lifetime warranty. The Flex Head is sealed. The wrench is beautifully finished and easy to wipe grease and grime off. It fits nicely in the hand. The Push Button and Direction Lever are easy to operate. 5 Stars for my new favorite 1/4" drive ratchet!
This tool is really neat. The handle is firm and plenty for me to ratchet with ease. I also like the ability to bend and lock where I need it at while I’m working, at the push of the black button I am back to normal again. It holds onto sockets well enough, but it does not lock in the socket; it still requires some force to get the socket off, so it’s not like it is completely loose on the joint or anything like that. I also like how the rotation of directions clearly says below the switch, on and off; all too often I have to remind myself which direction I’m heading with the tool, so reading that tells me right away. Also locking in the flex, it’s locked in really well, I haven’t had it slip when tightening or loosening. It’s making working on my car a breeze with ... MoreThis tool is really neat. It’s making working on my car a breeze with some of the bolts that are awkward to reach and take off. It is light to hold but has the right amount of heft to it. I’m genuinely impressed by this tool for the features it has, and I’m looking forward to more of what this brand has to offer for the next project I’m on.
This is another well made gear wrench product. The fit and finish is that of a higher end ratchet. The handle feels good in the hand and gives enough surface to use for extended periods. The wrench is 8" overall and I proved a comparison to the 3/8' version to give you a better idea. This is a fine tooth head, which is expected on this size ratchet, the action is smooth with no hang up. It does swivel, but what makes it a bit different is that you can lock it at a specific angle rather than the head moving when you apply some torque. The only thing I thought would be a negative is there is no button to release the socket, but honestly, it holds the sockets securely and removing them is not a problem, plus it is nice not worrying about hitting that button in the ... When I was mechanic it was always a problem when I was trying to get into a small space and the swivel ratchet would keep moving especially after the tool started to wear out. This thing is great and locks the swivel head in place so there is no more of the flexing. The finish of the chrome is top notch and the fine tooth of the ratchet works great in tight spaces. The ratchet fits good in my hand and has a good weight to it. Limited Lifetime warranty and make sure you keep it lubed with a little mineral oil to keep thing moving and rust free.
