I am a gearwrench junkie but in my honest opinion this is a great set of impact rated sockets that will last the average DIYer like myself a lifetime. The one thing that really pisses me off is every time I need a 27mm socket and it’s not there because they skipped that size! I had to go buy a single 27mm socket because this kit did not come with one and I need it frequently. Other than that it’s a great set and a really nice case although I keep my sockets in the montezuma..

I just got this and it seems perfect for small ratchet jobs (under 15mm-9/16). The quality is evident the moment you touch them. NO PETROLEUM SMELL. Case is correct size for the tools inside. Extra locks on sides assure strong hold. Metal clasps on front seem sturdy. Arrows on clasps clearly show which way is up when opening. Case is sized to fit on most shelves and is relatively light considering all the tools inside. Case stands upright. I searched all over the internet and couldn't find a more complete set. I use this with my Milwaukee short 1/4" M12 impact.If you're in Florida or any other humid place, I recommend you give this a light spray and maybe just a quick wipedown with any rust inhibitor just to keep them nice. They will flash rust a little over time.
I'm a big fan of Gearwrench impact sockets so far. I have both shallow and deep 1/2" drive sockets and I've had no issues with them so far on a Dewalt high torque impact wrench. The finish on these sockets is nice, the markings are clear and the walls are thinner than some of the cheaper impact sockets out there so they fit into tighter spaces. Great all-around option for 1/2" 6 point sockets, with these I don't see a need to own any in CR-V/chrome.
I've been through a lot of tools, and this set is something I needed to upgrade my setup.It's not SnapOn or Mac, but it does the job.It's nothing overwhelming, decent entry-level quality sockets for an adequate price.The fact there are no stupid skips between sizes - is a major plus.If you're not doing Diesel work, as far as 1/2" shallow impact are concerned, this set is all you'll need.A tool maker that's skipping sizes in its sets is making a mockery of the its customers.I'd go 5 starts if this set came with storage rails Vs. blow mold case.They do have a nice, enamel like finish, which helps them get cleaned pretty nice.
Sockets are great and feel great. Only thing was my 11 mm short did not have a laser engagement and kinda disappointed with that. Hope I could get one that is. The case is nice and compact. Would recommend cleaning the packaging oil off and out of case before it gets sticky
Sockets come in a decent case. Have laser engraving and inset scribbing which is a plus. I have some IR impact sockets at work that only have laser engraving and that wears off quickly leaving us to manually scribing socket sizes on. The oil on sockets is for storage and transportation to ensure moisture does no damage. Initial inspection shows all laser engraving good and straight.
These impact sockets from gear wrench are chrome moly ,best you can get,they are of high quality and each is well marked with the size. The plastic case they come in is a good feature as steel hinge pins and steel latch's make it a long lasting case if you choose to use it. Gear wrench tools are all high quality and made this a bargain purchase. Be careful and think twice if you see another brand for less, it won't equal these sockets quality. I bought these as I already had a different size set and can't break them! Do not buy chrome-vandium, very weak, make sure its moly material.
This is a great set, except that it seems that someone skipped counting day. It has all inclusive sizings except for 27MM which is the one that I really needed. They tell you to use the 1 1/8" from their standard set and they do not even make or sell a separate 27mm which is odd. The deep socket set has all contiguous sizing which is nice.
