Some 26 years old, the ASICS GEL-Nimbus was in its 10th iteration when it released in 2008. The swooping metallic panels, asymmetrical toebox and lashings of technical mesh all scream early-2000s. Compared with the OG there's a twist. For the first time GEL-Nimbus is graced with a big-dog Kayano sole unit—lifted from the GEL-Kayano 14. Whilst similar to the original tooling, the Kayano midsole adds extra GEL for max cushioning. Uppers stay true to the original with plenty of mesh and metallics creating a shoe that somehow looks better than it did when it released.
