This is because of the “opposition reflex” which causes sled dogs to pull against pressure. The Gentle Leader Harness has a unique front leash attachment which gently discourages your dog from pulling while walking on a leash. The front leash attachment stops pulling by steering your dog to the side and redirecting his attention towards you. A patent pending martingale loop provides extra leverage for easy, relaxed control and prevents the harness from twisting. The martingale closure works by slightly tightening across the chest and shoulder blades when the dog attempts to pull forward. The Easy Walk Harness never causes coughing, gagging, or choking because the chest strap rests low across the breastbone, not on the delicate tracheal area. The harness is quick and easy to fit, and easy to use. Features include: A quick snap buckle on both the shoulder and belly straps to make the harness easier to put on and take off. The soft, but strong nylon webbing has four adjustment points to provide maximum adjustment for a comfortable and reliable fit. The belly strap is colour-coordinated to make it easy to identify which strap goes over the shoulders and which goes under the belly. For an accurate measurement, please ensure that your dog is standing straight with their head up. An incorrect measurement will result if your dog is sitting, laying down, or being held. The chest size should be measured by holding the measuring tape snugly around your dog’s ribcage, just behind the front legs. Then use the Sizing Chart to find the right size for your dog.
