An outstanding cream…full stop. The scent is a mild citrus, which I find appealing. It makes an excellent, cushioning lather and the residual slickness is excellent. I’ve used it for years and will keep on using it.

I think this is a no nonsense shaving cream. It had a pleasant albeit mild citrus scent, abundant creamy lather that provides great protection. Post shave my skin feels great and I’m surprised the mild scent lingers, very fresh and clean summery scent. It seems like a large tub at 200g which is an added bonus.

I love the GFT shaving cream. It is rich, smooth and produces a lot of lather. I have been a traditional Taylor of Old Bond St user in the past but after a temporary switch to a Trumper soap for a while and wanting to switch back to a cream, I decided to give Geo. F Trumper a try. The scent is there, but it is subtle. It is crisp and clean. I may have found my permanent shave cream as it complements my cologne.
I have been using Geo F Trumper shaving cream for over 30 years. I love it. Only takes a dab to build beautiful lather. Gives an incredibly smooth shave. The scent of GFT with hints of bergamot is my favorite.
I have purchased Cyril Salter creams, and Castle-Forbes creams, and I prefer the Castle-Forbes over Cyril Salter. But this G.F. Trumper shaving cream, in the GFT scent, represents the pinnacle of shaving decadence, IMHO. The amount of thick, moist lather generated from such a tiny bit of cream is simply indecent, and its lubricity is exceptional. But the GFT scent is utterly amazing. It is a throwback to the subtle masculine scents I recall from my childhood of my Dad and his friends, of the local barber shop where as a child I was sat on a board across the chair arms and watched as the barbers shaved, pommaded and pampered their customers. It is the most remarkable Proustian 'privileged moment' recalled by this GFT scent. Try it and step back into your own past ...
I must admit that I am a recent convert to wet shaving so I don’t have anything else to compare this particular product with. I am using a badger brush to lather after a preshave and a Merkur 20C for the shave. I find that the GFT is extremely easy to lather to get that yogurt-whipping cream consistency that is suppose to be be the ideal lather for a wet shave. I am already using a Feather blade and I have never had any irritation, cuts or weepers. Excellent. While all of Trumper's creams are good, I think this is the top. Great scent that balances orange citrus with light spice. Lather is amazing. Highly recommend.
The scent is the only thing that's going to be good about this cream. It smells cologne based, but still really citrusy, musky and woodsy in very good ways. The latherability is sort of bad, you have to work at it to get a good lather out of it. The lather did not have the protective cushion suitable for shaving with a sharp blade like a Feather. A full three-pass shave with this cream left my face feeling raw and uncomfortable. Not moisturizing at all...4/10 and that's just for the smell.
GFT in all it's forms is my husbands favourite brand. He won't use any other deodorant or body and hair wash. (As a family, we keep him supplied throughout the year by giving gifts of all the GFT products). The bathroom smells wonderful after he has used the body wash. (so does he!) Couldn't possibly add photos!!
