Impressively versatile pack shovel. Compact when folded, heavy-duty bag included. Durable construction, practical size. Blade's strength and design praised. Multipurpose, functional, and well-made. A reliable car and group camping companion. Not ideal for backpacking due to weight.

Shovel is amazing quality, everything that I needed and excellent value. It's built sturdy and is easily adjustable. Can't see this getting destroyed anytime soon. In terms of storage, very compact and comes with a good case. Would recommend for anyone looking for a compact shovel.

I bought the shovel to replace my partners missing one. It is great and comes with its own little bag. He seemed thrilled and is super excited to use it on our upcoming camping trip. Some things we liked:Its small so it packs easy in the car without taking up space. It is the perfect shovel for messing around in the fire pit.It is capable of being folded and used like a hammer, great for camping pegs!

We used this on our first backing trip last weekend and it worked great! We had to dig our pit in some tough soil with roots and this shovel preformed very well! It's sturdy and very compact. The only downside is it's a little heavy, however, for the quality it's worth having the few extra ounces compared to others. It also had a built in hammer which honestly seems kinda useless especially since most people carry another type of hammer anyway. If they omitted it it would decrease the weight making it perfect!
This shovel was purchased to keep in my truck for camping trips and off roading and I love it. The shovel folds up into a compact position so that it stores nicely and even has a well made carrying case for extra protection. The shovel is small but still plenty strong when extended to do most light to medium duty jobs. I have purchased the cheaper version of the folding shovel in the past from my local sporting goods store and they dont compare to this one at all. The metal on my last shovel had begun to bend and break after just a few uses. The gerber shovel has been used more often and still works great. I have enjoyed the Gerber so much that I recently purchased another to give as a gift. This is a great shovel and well worth the price.
While I know that it is supposed to be a shovel that a person may pack, I was surprised by its small. The handle release that allows one to extend the handle is so stiff, I have not found anyone who is able to push it in to extend the handle. It works out to be a slightly over sized garden spade. I imagine that it is going to be difficult to do any real work with it.
I've had mine for over a decade now, and with regular cleaning and a bit of oil on occasion, it still works perfectly. I bought it for camping, but even around the city it's always under my passenger seat.We just had a major, very wet, snowstorm followed by rapidly falling temperatures that made mounds and boulders of ice out of the drifts as well as what the plows left. One of my neighbors simply couldn't get out of his parking space, and was trying in vain to kick the ice away. I went to help him with my E-Tool, and in minutes the boulders and mounds of frozen snow were gone and he was able to get out without even a push. From a back-woods excursion to a daily drive down local city streets, it's always a handy tool to have at the ready.
I’ve been searching for many products recently and have compared prices on many sites . I found the best price on a this quality product here . I think I’ll stick around and see what savings I can see in the future.
Sturdy little shovel that is heavy for its size but appears strong. The head folds back and the handle extends a bit. The head can be locked perpendicular to the handle so it can be used almost as a pick to start the hole for digging. The included storage bag seems a little flimsy, but handy.
Bought this little shovel for some winter camping and it performed as expected. Used it to dig out the fire pit as well as the door of the cabin and then to chip away at the ice around my tires when it was time to get on the road.It is surprisingly heavy for it's size and as other reviewers have mentioned, there are clear weaknesses in the design. The handle can be tough to extend, which is frustrating in cold weather. That being said however, it is not an expensive tool and you need to respect that as you use it. I have not had any problems with it and when I'm not camping, I keep it in my vehicle where it has come in handy.Overall good value for the money.
