Gerber Suspension NXT Multi Tool

You get what you pay for. After watching a few positive reviews, I decided why not try for a budget multitool?Beware incentivized reviews.I was initially intrigued about every tool being locked with exterioir access. The pliers are about the only useful thing here aside from the Phillips driver. Almost impossible to open most of the tools out of the box.Definitely needs some TLC but absolutely zero excuse to try and open one tool then get a good slice on the finger because 3 tools open and give you a nick. Immediately returning.

A SURPRISING DELIGHT

I was somewhat apprehensive opening the package. I have owned Gerbers since a beautiful Magnum, purchased in the late 70’s. Like many others, I had heard about quality issues since they relocated their manufacturing facilities to China. Such is not the case.This is not your mini combo tool. It is hefty, and fully fits the hand. It is made for real work, not cleaning your fingernails.It comes with a variety of tools. First, a nice blade, serrated near the rear. Opening it, there is a nice needle-nose pliers and handy scissors, tightly joined. A great feature is that all blades can be positively locked, preventing accidental cuts or finger pinches.The only downside is that, due to tight fit, the blades can be hard to open, as there are no fingernail grooves to assist in opening.Overall, a good all-round tool.

Good Tool

The product was described as new. It came in the box, which looked pretty ragged. All the tools function properly and the tool was in good condition, except for the pocket clip that was bent away from the tool. I had to get pliers and use them to bend the clip flush with the tool. I recommend the tool itself. I got the tool for a good price, but with the bent clip and some surface rust, I doubt the tool was brand new as described.

Great tool

I use this tools at my work site every day, for almost anything and has worked great so far. I dropped it several times on concrete accidentally on a job when I was a few feet up and no issues. I really appreciate the value that this Gerber brings to the table and how many times it’s saved me from having to go back to my truck, or have to carry in my tool bag .If you're young or new to multi-tools you can't go too wrong with a Gerber one and for this price, is a good investment.the wire cutting capability of the anvil type wire cutters was no problem with this model. The screwdriver is decent for random use. The weight is good, on the lighter side (compared to others similar), Works okay with the clip. Handy

This is a very handy little tool, that easily clips on to your belt. It's just a tad over inches long, a inch and five-eights wide and three-quarters of a inch in height. It's surprisingly light weight for the tool itself, I had some doubts when I first got the item. It has surprised me for the times that I have used it, It has held up very well. The unfolding of the pliers are very easy and smooth, they lock open with a slight click. They open into a set of needle nose with a grooved tooth area and set of wire cutters. You have several knife blades, assorted screwdrivers, bottle and can opener and a pair of scissors. The belt clip is a good length and shape, just wish it was a little stronger, I had it slip off my belt several times when climbing through a few areas. Not sure I want to keep carrying this as my EDC because of the weight. I really like that it has a belt clip instead of using a holster. It's good that the belt clip is designed for deep carry because the belt clip is a little on the weak side. All individual accessories are fairly easy to deploy. The best part is the accessories can be accessed when the tool is closed. The blade arrived hair shaving sharp. It would have helped if there was some type of grip ridges along the other edges to operate in wet conditions. The tool slips in my hand when wet. This tool will be an excellent choice for your casual use around the house and taking camping.

Inexpensive yet functional.

It is Gerber's less expensive competitor to Leatherman's wingman models. While it is certainly adequate for everyday use, because of the lower price point, you do not get the fit and polish of a Leatherman. Another other good point is, the tools are longer and better than on the Suspension model and it's slimmer. However, I wouldn't pay more than 30 dollars for it. Past that, just get a Leatherman for a few bucks more.

Nice multi-tool

I am giving my review of the Gerber Suspension NXT Hunting Multi-Tool. Great little multi-purpose tool. I really like these multi-purpose tools. I used to have a Leatherman multi-tool, but it really hurt when I would lose this very costly tool. Now I have the Gerber Suspension NXT Hunting Multi-Tool and it still hurts when I lose this tool, but not as much as the more costly Leatherman. The other great thing about the Gerber Suspension NXT Hunting Multi-Tool is that it does everything that my old Leatherman would do. I really do not see much drop off from the Leatherman to the Gerber. Nothing stick out to stick into your hand while you are working with the tool. I would recommend that your purchase the Gerber Suspension NXT Hunting Multi-Tool, because it will go everything you need it to do.

If you've ever done that you know this type of line is tricky to cut. This tool has a cutter in the jaw of the pliers and scissor that fold out, both cut the line real nice. Very low quality

This Gerber is nothing like its predecessors. I’ve had three previous Gerber multi tools each were far superior than this piece of junk. I understand stainless steel is not as rigid or quality as carbon steel. That being said I didn’t expect much however, the super thin construction easily bent hinge point and unable to take the screws out to fix the bent retainer clip leads me to believe that this is the cheapest quality. I have barely started using this multi tool and discovered how I’ve wasted my money. At this point I’m teetering whether I should take it back get my money invested in a more quality tool or keep this one and throw it in the tacklebox or toolbox as if I screw it up don’t worry about it it’s not that good to begin with tool.
