Can’t go wrong with this GHD from ActiveSkin!!

I recently bought this GHD hair straightener after my first GHD (the bottom of the range model) stopped working suddenly, which I had for many many years, so had no problems in buying another GHD. This model is smooth to use and heats up fast! So fast, I can’t even section hair before it’s ready! My partner commented on the extra shine my had after the first use too! I ordered from Activeskin, knowing they have excellent delivery times when selecting express postage, as I preferred to have a new one sooner rather than later and they did not disappoint!

Don’t bother with GHD

What a disappointment from product to service. The straighteners barely heated up, there was no button to adjust heat. So in that basis they were useless. Returned them by using methods suggested by GHD and even though I could track when they were received back by GHD it was a further 3 weeks before I got my refund. Have since bought some Remington straighteners for a fraction of the price and they have done an exceptional job. Really unimpressed given GHD have been going for years, will definitely not be recommending to anyone complete waste of money.

GHD GOLD styler is the best model!

My first GHD was a gold limited addition styler, which lasted a decade. Upgraded to the platinum, which began giving issues after 2years. Never straightened the hair quite as well as my first GHD and had to have the internal board replaced last year. It stopped working again so decided to repurchase the gold styler. It is far superior to the platinum in my opinion - styles hold for much longer and heats up in 20secs. Would definitely recommend!

Good but no heat setting

My hair has been frazzled by bleach and I was looking for something to calm it down and make it nice and smooth. GHD promised all that and more. Unfortunately, the product doesn't have a heat setting so my already dry ends became even worse and my hair started breaking off as soon as I used these straighteners! I am sure they are great if your hair is in good condition but if you have even a hint of damage, don't bother. A very, very expensive mistake!

It took over 1 month from buying straighteners to actually receiving them and lots of time spent contacting customer services who were not very helpful.The GHD straighteners I had finally packed in, so I treated myself to a new pair in the Black Friday sale on the GHD website. The straighteners that arrived had clearly been used, they were marked and scratched so I contacted GHD with photos. I understand winter is a busy retail time, however they took a lot longer than I expected to reply and I felt that they didn't understand the issue. If I had purchased the straighteners in a shop, the return would be much more simple. I was close to just asking for a refund but I wanted the straighteners at the sale price.Eventually, they said they would send out a new pair which arrived 1 month later. It felt like they just didn't care, they're expensive straighteners and I was out of pocket for a month.I would not use use their website again and just buy from a stockist to save the trouble.

No static or frizz.

I love these straighteners. They work perfectly on my mid-length fine hair, creating a sleek straight look or waves that last all day. The fact that they do not leave any static or frizz is the real benefit for me. I have always bought cheaper straighteners in the past but I now appreciate the difference you get when you buy a more expensive brand. They heat up quickly and automatically switch off if you leave them on unattended.

Review for my GHD GOLD Hair straightener

I bought Ghd Gold Hair Straightener a few weeks ago. I had heard a lot of good words about GHD indeed. Couldn't say it is not true. My straightener is relatively good, but every good thing has its own negative sides. I thought Gold would be the perfect size of hair straightener for me, but it turns out to be smaller than I thought. I did'nt wanted to buy GHD max because it seemed to me that it would be bigger than the normal size of hair straighteners. To conclude my review, the item is good, but small for my hair. It takes a lot of time to straighten my hair because of the small plates, even though I have thin hair. Thank you for asking me for a review.

Will Return after doing some digging

I just bought this product after reading all the negative reviews about the platinum plus. I had the gold for about 3 years but because this company doesn’t use ceramic plates, they cheap out using aluminum plates with a ceramic coating, the coating on my last one wore off making it extremely damaging to my hair. So I did some research and found out that coating aluminum plates with ceramic is the cheap way out and at this price I wasn’t expecting to read that. A good quality straightener will have full ceramic plates so even tho I just ordered this one and even though it has mainly great reviews, I will be canceling my order because I don’t believe the company is fairly pricing their actually cheaply made products.
