Fast, quality tire

I usually spend about half this much money on a quality brand tire, but I got some new Giant tubeless carbon rims and decided to splurge on the Gavia tires to avoid any
compatibility issues. I have to say that the Course 0 tires roll unlike any tire I've used before. They feel fast and are very surefooted. The tires have a quality casing that
inspires confidence when charging down sweeping corners on mountain roads. I've also been about 700 miles without a flat or any noticeable wear.I did have some trouble
mounting to the Giant rims as the tolerances are tight. The tires went on easily enough, but had a horrible wobble. I finally went to a Giant retailer where they pu... Show more

Gavia Course 1 tires are not at all puncture resistant

Gavia Course 1 tires are not at all puncture resistant. A sticker bur will puncture a hole in the tire. Almost anything in the road will cut them. My Gavia Course 1 tires lasted no
more than 500 miles on pretty clean roads before I was ready to give up on them. Do yourself a favor and find another tire.

I was apprehensive when I bought my TCR as the carbon wheels are hookless and there are limits on the tyres recommended by Giant that can be fitted to them. I wasn't
expecting much from the course 1 tyres that came on the bike and was considering replacing them with continental GP5000's but after two summers of use (at least 4000
miles) without a puncture and little wear or damage to the course 1 tyres I will be sticking with them. The tyres only have a few small nick and cuts, nothing looks to have
gone past the puncture protection layer.

They've been great ever since!... Show more

I would buy this tire again
15 September 2021
I bought this tire to replace the same tire that came as original equipment on the bike. The tubeless tires ride great. They have a great feel when riding and have gone over two thousand miles in the past 6 months without a flat. They accelerate rapidly and feel lively when riding New York hills. I've ridden lighter tires that were typically thinner in the 20-23 mm range - they can feel harsh and are fragile leading to short life. These 25's feel definitely softer and more forgiving but my average speeds are higher- I'm a believer in road tubeless tires... Show more

Incredible cornering grip. Really good puncture resistance; there's visible debris as seen from the surface, tear marks caused likely due to all sorts of things that could cause puncture, but the tyres are holding air, going almost as good as new.... Show more

Lasted just 700 miles..
14 June 2021
Worked fine until they did not. Punctured both front and rear after 700 miles. Came with the 2021 Giant TCR tubeless ready. The sealant sprayed all over but just sealed enough to return home. The tire would not hold air pressure. Giant dealership told me they need to be replaced..what a bummer. Closer inspection revealed multiple cuts on the tire. Does not appear to provide puncture protection that Giant claims. Don't want any more Gavia's but very limited options available with the hookless rims..... Show more

My best all-around road tyre
11 February 2022
The 700x25 (measured width 28mm on the SLR 1 wheels) that came with my 2021 TCR advanced pro 1 are now past the 6100 Km mark: no flats, NONE. I even indulge in the occasional gravel road exploration (close to 350 Km out of the 6100) without a single puncture. I run them at 74 psi front and 80 rear. No significant cuts! They roll and accelerate fast enough to beat my club buddies in sprints and KOMs but the peace of mind these tyres have brought me is unbelievable!A true all-rounder 3-season (I live up north, so winter cannot be included here ) that can stomach the occasional gravel.... Very good tyres, definitely excellent for training rides
22 May 2022
I have ridden with this tyres around 8500km. Not one puncture. They roll nice and smooth, the only disadvantage being their weight. Therefore 4 stars. Bought now a Course 0 which are said to be 50g lighter and should be running even smoother, so lets see if we can continue the success story.... Show more

Very poor, numerous punctures
1 June 2021
I choose these tyres because they claimed to have good puncture resistance. This has proved not to be true. I've done a few hundred miles and had 5 punctures (probably only had 3 in 3 years running Conti 4000 with tubes, in over 10,000 miles) that I know of. Whilst most have sealed the last one didn't. There are also numerous other cut marks on the tyres. I simply don't trust these tyres to get me round a decent ride and home.I thought the Cadex tyres that came on the bike were bad but these are worse. With the Giant hookless rims there are very few approved options, I'm trying Schwalbe next to see if they're any better.... Show more

Zero Punctures after 3000 miles
5 August 2022
After 3,000 miles I need to replace the rear- purely down to wear as I noticed a flat spotI have had no punctures in this time despite there being several occasions where I have hit a pot hole / large stone and was prepared for the pop which never cameUnless you are absolutely determined to reduce weight by a few grams - this is a perfectly good durable tyre...
