This product is a real 240v to 110v isolation transformer with a built-in earth leakage safety switch (RCD) which actually works (we tested it to be sure). This feature alone could save your life if you're working on mains current devices! Excellent for R&D & Engineering applications, or when working with prototypes designed for the US Market. The unit I received works as advertised. It can deliver the promised 2000W, is 100% analog, so the signal out is not significantly noisier than what goes in. I've got mine driving some high-frequency / high voltage resonant oscillators which wouldn't be possible with a switch-mode design. Purchased this transformer because we bought a paint machine from the states. The paint machine had the American plug. This transformer allows us to run the paint machine with no problems. This little beauty is amazing.
