Broke after running for one hour. Managed to put the tiller together in spite the instructions being microscopicaly small, badly written and missing large sections. Mixed the fuel using the handy 2 stroke mixing container. Started the tiller and used it for approx one hour, until it needed refueling. Refueled it but then couldn't restart it again as there was no tension in the starter pull chord. Save your money.

An awesome power tiller. An order of magnitude quicker than the manual method and a lot less strain on the old body. One criticism would be the supplied assembly/instructions manual. The pic on the front page is the tiller, but thereafter there is no resemblance whatsoever. The manual covers a four stoke, self propelled unit - it is a 2 stroke push/pull unit. The second would be with the wheels. Too thin to push the unit forward, the wheels get bogged down in the newly turned soil. I found it easier to simply pull backwards - as in walking backwards dragging the unit along. Don't let these failings deter you though, it is not that hard to work out how to assemble the unit. And it works great. Would recommend to anyone.

The Good: -Quick delivery -Price -Strong motor, made short work of ripping up my old lawn The Bad: -The manual, mine was for a 2 stroke engine but was a different engine to the one that the unit came with, assembly instructions for the blades were nonexistent but it was easy enough to assemble. The starting instructions are confusing and contradictory, it says to close the choke then the engine should start and run then later says that the engine will only run if the choke is open. This is not helped by the sticker for the choke being upside down on the unit stating that the up position is for cold starting and down position is for running when the choke is actually the other way around, up is open and down is closed. -The pull starter has an issue as mentioned ... MoreThe Good: -Quick delivery -Price -Strong motor, made short work of ripping up my old lawn The Bad: -The manual, mine was for a 2 stroke engine but was a different engine to the one that the unit came with, assembly instructions for the blades were nonexistent but it was easy enough to assemble. This is not helped by the sticker for the choke being upside down on the unit stating that the up position is for cold starting and down position is for running when the choke is actually the other way around, up is open and down is closed. -The pull starter has an issue as mentioned below, once the engine heats up the spring mechanism expands, gets jammed and disconnects so you can't start it again unless you pull it apart and free the mechanism. I polished the surfaces the tabs slide against and added some grease which seems to have fixed the problem. But for the money it's still worth it.
My heavy duty rotary hoe died and I thought I would try this tiller as repairs would probably cost as much as the purchase price. Delivery was pretty quick but I was sceptical that the unit would be any good when I took it out of the box because it is so light. However, the high RPM mean it rips through the dirt quite well - even in Canberra clay soil. As others have mentioned, pulling it backwards is more effective. I wound up removing the wheels/guide altogether and just operated it sitting on the tines. Because it is light it tends to jump around. A bit thirsty but I may have been working it hard. I had the same issue with the starter cord as some other reviews. It's got tons of power. We live at altitude of 1000 metres so I leaned off the mixture a half a turn (screw in on top of carby) and it runs better. Starts easy. Manual is fairly useless. Seems to use a lot of fuel -and is quite loud - but for my use - backyard - it's great, but I wouldn't want to be on it all day. The tynes throw up a fair bit of dirt (as you'd expect) and the air filter picks this up quicker than you might expect - so keep an eye on that. overall - much better than I expected.
Speedy delivery! The manual is not the correct manual for the product and would be the worst manual I have ever read for assembling a product! No exploded diagram and poor instructions. The machine works once you get it started, but the starter was problematic for me. I started it fairl easily the first time, but after I turned it off to refill the fuel tank the pull cord just pulled with no resistance which then required removing the top and messing with the machine to get the cord tensioned correctly to be able to start the motor again. Once it is running the machine performs okay but it is difficult to steer compared with a previous cultivator I owned.
Motor ran well but each time I tried to restart the pull start did not work. I had to dismantle the pull start cover and reset the mechanism as the spring loading device did not work. This was painful. Also one of the rotor blades stopped working because the pin that holds it in just fell off. Wheels and connections seem flimsy. It got my garden done eventually but not happy. Poor quality.
This machine is AMAZING! engine started first time which is incredible for a 2 stroke straight out the box. Has a lot of power, managed to pulverize hard clumps of clay buried in a hard clay surface. Makes life so much easier, after i sprayed gypsum over and woo-la a usable patch for a good garden. Was quite easy to put together, the end pins im sure are deliberately a tight fit so have to hammer them in. I managed to do the front garden and half the back on a tank of fuel, and thats going over it quite a few times. I would highly recommend this product esp if on a new property that has hard clay ground. Save your back and buy this! It is also light enough to carry and had no issues dragging it through mud. Also cleans up easily.
could use some modifications out of the box, wheel bracket is a bit flimsy but holds together, probably wont last long though. Accelerator cable disconnected and threw a spring within first 5h of use, might want to put some tape on it or something. powerful enough to dig into high clay soils, wont cut kikuyu though, it winds up around the blades and can jam the rotor. nice easy pull start start, though the "E-Start" is literally a letter E printed on the rip cord handle, cheeky! good value for money, especially if you have some basic fabricobbling skills.
