I was able to do some work arounds to get the board to work, nothing beyond finding a stable bios and turning off XMP. It worked for 4 months WITH issues RAM would cause instability so I bought some ram from the compatible ram list on the support page and it still crashed all the time. I upgraded from my R5 2600x to a R7 3700x. I got it to work for a while with it still crashing randomly. I saved up to order a B550 Aorus Pro AC, with this I switched back to my R5 2600x since I was going to install the R7 3700x into that new board. I ensured everything was connected correctly and seated as it should be. I plugged my rig in flipped the power to on and pressed the power button on my front panel. Nothing happened. I've had this board for over a year and have had basically no issues whatsoever. I've used it with an R5 2600 and now with a R5 3600 and everything is stable and great. My RAM works great with XMP 3200Mhz C16 with no issues. Sabrent Rocket NVME runs full speed and has good temps because of the onboard heatsinks. This board has pretty much every feature you will really need unless you're wanting to overclock a 3950X. Plenty of SATA ports, decent IO, Wifi & BT, good onboard audio, competent Bios, handsome looks and debug LED's to add icing to the cake. The only downside is RGB Fusion is so bad that I often leave lights off or on one solid color. To be fair, Asus, Asrock, and MSI all have TERRIBLE RGB software as well, but it still deserves on egg off. Overall, I'm ... The board is excellent in almost every way. I put this in a build for a neighbor and I was very satisfied with the overall build. I paired it with the Ryzen 3200g,16 gigs of 3200 mem, 512 M.2 and Corsair AIO. Everything went together smooth and the board has all of the headers you could ever need.There are 2 5v digital rgb headers and 2 12v standard rgb.The onboard audio is top notch and if you dont have an APU you will need a dedicated graphics card. I know the board shows DVI and HDMI but there are only 2 chips that support onboard video so be sure to get that straight before you purchase. only beef I have with it is more directed towards the fact that 4th gen Ryzen will not work with this board. I would gladly give up SATA 4 support on the board in exchange for the Glory of the 4th gen Ryzen.

The stated I needed to install the M.2 in first slot (M.2A) for Windows 10, enable CSM and set all SATA to AHCI (Gigabyte should make this the default) and disable Secure boot. Once I made those settings, Windows 10 boot problems went away and SSD speed doubled. There is no instructions in the motherboard manual to tell me to install the OS SSD in the first slot. Previous Review: I like the motherboard and everything about it is good quality. My only gripe is I should be able to install an M.2 SSD and install Windows 10 without any bios tweaking. I had black screen of death (no video) until I tried Ubuntu 18.10, which had drivers that worked. (It's always a little nerve wracking when you first turn on the power and you can't even get into the BIOS! But even then, don't assume that the MB is dead...) Now on Ubuntu 20.04. Still on F5 BIOS too! Later installed a WD BLACK SN750 NVMe M.2 2280 1TB as my boot drive and reinstalled Linux. Works even better now. Now wondering about upgrading the CPU, so I will need a video card, bought a MSI GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER and it also works great. (not a gamer, don't judge :-) Anxiously awaiting next gen of AMD ... Bought this for an upgrade to an older computer with an old Bulldozer CPU. For being in what I would consider to be the top end range for a budget motherboard as far as price goes, it had some good, solid weight to it. Also comes with an integrated backplate which was pretty cool. And the G Connector is just the bees knees - no more fumbling around half blind in a cramped place trying to plug the front panel pins in - can't say enough about this. I've 8GB of Corsair Vengeance (CMK8GX4M2A2400C16) RAM in it. The 16GB version was on the manufactures QVL list but not the 8GB kit but it worked fine. Haven't done any overclocking as I'm using the Ryzen 2200G stock HSF and it's a computer my kids play on and it does the job so I'm not spending the time mucking around with ... It's also fully customizable in the BIOS. Speaking of BIOS the BIOS menu is great and simple. I did have issues with getting one of the screw holes to line up with a stand off in the case, but I think that might have been the case. If I had to slight this MoBo for anything, it would be having WiFi. I know there is a version without WiFi, but it was sold out when I was putting my build together. I haven't touched the WiFi so I don't know how well it works. It does come with an antenna though if you like having those kinds of things attached to your computer... Overall I ... did an amazing build for somebody with fully custom rgb strips. well, every color but blue now shows up as red at full brightness. those same strips work fine in 3 other computers with drgb headers. sent the motherboard in for rma (which i had to pay shipping for), only for them to take 5 weeks to send it back to me (with no updates whatsoever), only for the problem to still persist. they did not include a service sheet with the motherboard explaining what the problem was and what they fixed (like even ASUS's terrible customer service does). I guess i fall into that category of people that have now experienced gigabyte receiving the product, opening the box, saying "yep! thats a motherboard!", and shipping it back.its a shame that a motherboard that looks this good, ... It has passed every test I have thrown at it, and done three installs (by design) of Windows 10 Pro without a hitch. It was not always this good. When I received it, the CPU, and memory, I mounted it on my test bench, plugged in a known-good power supply and video card, hit the switch, and nothing. I spent 30 minutes troubleshooting and finally gave up, was ready to send it back, and when I turned around to disassemble the parts, it had fired up. My guess is a BIOS issue based on its performance since. From there it ran a day’s worth of MemTest with not a single problem, then several hours of Prime95 with no issues. The next day, again, nothing. Once it came back to life I flashed the BIOS to F2 and it has not flinched since. When the M2 SSDs and new video card arrived, I did my second of three Windows installs, a test to verify the driver configuration. The RAID configuration was a bit confusing (and I’ve set up RAIDS for years, both using the MB or a dedicated RAID controller). “Enabled” and “Disabled” mean selected and not selected respectively for the menu you are on at the time. Even if, in context, it would logically mean the drive is disabled. For NVMe RAIDs, that needs to be enabled, CSM support disabled, and SATA can be either RAID or ACHI, as need, in the BIOS. The MB initially had established two arrays, one for each drive. I had to delete both, create the one I wanted, add the two drives and initialize them. Finally, load the RAID pre-boot driver during Windows set up, which is two separate loads. That all worked like a champ, and the RAID has been solid ever since. Samsung Magician says it writes at 1.5GBs, and reads at 3.3. More than fast enough to keep my wife happy, once she gets her hands on it. One more oddity: by default CPU virtualization is off. Kaspersky complained about that until I turned it on. Including two heat shields for the M2 drives is a nice touch, as some boards I looked at come with only one. The wifi antenna is unremarkable but seems to work well enough. This system has been and will spend its life attached to a wired LAN, so that is just a backup. Despite the temperamental start, this board redeemed itself and has been solid, especially since moving to the F2 BIOS. The BIOS upgrade moved it from a tenuous 3.5 to a 5 star rating.
The key question I had that I wish someone would have mentioned anywhere before I purchased was whether it would support Ryzen 3000 series without the need for an older CPU to flash the BIOS. If you're in my same shoes - fear no more and read on! My mobo was likely produced at the end of 2019 (the serial numbers starts with 2019) and it came with the latest firmware installed (F50) which supports Ryzen natively (similar to the MAX series in MSI boards). The telltale is that in the box there is a logo that says "Ryzen 3000 Desktop Ready". Now call me jaded, but the word "ready" is a loaded word, as different manufacturers may use it to represent different things (remember 720i HD "ready" TVs?) In any case, I found out ahead of time (my CPU was still traversing the country) by opening a ticket with Gigabyte eSupport and got my answer within 48 hours and it was a clear and concrete answer - kudos for that! Overall, this is a phenomenal motherboard at less than one and a half Benjamin Franklins. It has a couple minor areas of improvement which due to the aging nature of the platform will likely never be addressed, but they are not even inconveniences. Considering the fairly similar feature-set to B550s or even low end X570s, nothing so far that would warrant lowering the rating. However, keep in mind it's been about a week since I powered it up and I haven't yet done stress testing of any kind. If I find issues, I will update this review. At the moment is running a Crucial M2 1TB and a Radeon 5700XT with nary a complaint. Fits neatly and tightly in a Fractal Design Meshify C case. The Aorus Falcon branding is superb - brings a smile to my face every time I look at it. Aggressive yet tasty at the same time. The best motherboard I've ever had.
