Overall this is an amazing entry-level 1440p monitor. With all the features included and the low price it really is worth it if money is an issue. However if you aren't strapped for cash, I would go ahead and just pick up a OLED display. I don't regret this purchase, but the INSANELY intrusive backlight bleeding makes some games (that primarily feature a dark aesthetic) unplayable and movie or video can be annoying to watch. It is hard to concentrate on the content at hand when the screen gets darker, as the backlight bleeding persists at all 4 corners of the montor, and some long streaks running vertically throughout the mid section. Maybe it's just my display but other reviews mention similar issues. This could be a deal breaker for some customers and I believe it ... MoreOverall this is an amazing entry-level 1440p monitor. A few games simply are too dark for the display and look trashy on the overall very bright screen, almost too bright at times, but turning brightness down cripples quality of the HDR, so this aspect is a double-edged sword. Again, generally a good product but the backlight issue is very concerning and Gigabyte should look to correct this flaw in future items.

So, I actually bought 2 of these same monitors. I built my new rig, and needed new screens to match for gaming, and for photo editing. I checked around for a while on reviews, and decided on these. I'm glad I did. The dual 32 inch takes up a bit of desk space, but I put mine on a shelf that I had mounted to the wall, about 4 inches above the back of my desk. My ONLY gripe literally, is that the power button is in the back of the screens, and not maybe on the bottom of the panels. Other than that, the resolution is great, and the color gamut for photo editing is really good. It did take my eyes a day or 2 to get used to the 1500 curve in them, but that went away. Would definitely recommend, and for the price point of a 165hz refresh with 1ms latency and 32 inch ... MoreSo, I actually bought 2 of these same monitors. Packaged well, but there were a few issues that people may not consider; The HDR makes the screen quite dim even at peak brightness, I generally leave it off. The Variable Refresh Rate works fine, but can be picky with certain programs, so again, I largely leave it off.My initial model had extreme backlight bleeding, to the point it was visible during the day. I got a replacement and it is serviceable but still noticeable at night. Finally, the software is...extremely bad. I basically never used it, on the pretense that I couldn't get it to properly change some settings, and I used the built in settings to change things instead.Realistically I would not recommend the product. I got this monitor several months ago, in an attempt to upgrade from a 24' tn 1440p 144hz from AOC because I had gifted my buddy my old 1070ti when I upgraded to a 2080s. I wanted something bigger to enjoy my gaming on and this monitor does not disappoint in that regard. I enjoy the deeper blacks and heavy contrast due to the ips panel. However, I found out very quickly in my limited experience with these that color bleed is an issue at sub 165hz refresh, and even then there is some ghosting. It makes playing path of exile fairly eye straining. Other high motion games like doom eternal look fantastic though, and at the top refresh rate eliminates a lot of the issues I had playing poe. My favorite part is the nub used for navigating the menus. It's tactile and is much better than the small hard to see ones usually used. Now, for the odd issue I mentioned. This monitor works fine and dandy, but every. Single. Time. I turn it on, the backlights in the screen do not all come on. Full sections of the screen are dim, but turning the monitor off and back on fixes the issue. Initially I'd have to do this several times before it worked and I'd feared I'd have to rma this product, but being somewhat lazy and not being interested in the hassle associated with it, I chose to stick it out. Now it only ever happens on the first time I turn the monitor on, but I fear that it'll get worse.
I've been gaming on TV's for as long as I can remember and finally after decades I made the switch to a monitor setup and could not be happier. This monitor "hugs" your eyes and immerses you due to the curve and I never truly understood that concept until I received this. It did take a few days for my eyes to adjust to it because at times it almost looks like you're looking at a 3D version of what's on your screen. I know that sentence sounds weird but if you pick this up you'll know what I mean. The only three "complaints" I have are the following: 1. Backlight flickering when a game is on a loading screen or when I switch between applications. That being said it has not happened to me in game at all so it doesn't affect the overall Eggs I give this monitor. 2. Backlight flickering when a game is on a loading screen or when I switch between applications. That being said it has not happened to me in game at all so it doesn't affect the overall Eggs I give this monitor. 2. For some reason this does not save the settings I set on the monitor. The monitor by default has the brightness at 100 and I prefer it around 48 due to the dark setting I'm in most the time (blackout curtains in AZ are a must lol). The ONLY workaround I have found is that it does have 3 save "slots" for settings and it will retain the changes there but every time I turn the monitor off for the night and then back on the next day I have to go to the save slot in the settings to reapply it. This could be user error but so far I have yet to find a fix. To me this is extremely minor and doesn't warrant an Egg to be taken away. However it is notable as I know other people out there that would absolutely hate it. 3. Speakers are hands down the absolute worst. However, I still use them if I don't want to wear my headset and what I'm watching doesn't require the best audio. I didn't even realize this had speakers until I booted up my PC and heard sound and got really confused. People don't buy TV's for their built in speakers so why would I do the same with a monitor? This does not warrant an Egg being taken away, if anything I'd give them a sliver of an Egg for even putting them in lol. The monitor does have adjustable height which is nice for all setups. The stand is wide so it doesn't wobble at all. The stand also has what I'm assuming is a wire pass through for the ports on the back however if you were to set the monitor at its lowest point this pass through may not be as effective and seen more as a hinderance. Who knows, maybe it isn't a pass through and just an aesthetic feature lol. *** IMPORTANT Note: As other reviewers have noted 165hz ONLY works on Display Port (If you're using HDMI I believe the cap is 120hz) and NVIDIA G-sync DOES work but it isn't a "officially" supported feature and you have to turn it on manually in the NVIDIA control panel.*** Overall I would highly recommend this monitor and if I come into the money I will be picking up a second one to have dual displays. Currently I have my PS5 and computer hooked up to it and both look stellar on it. If a non-IPS panel isn't a deal breaker for you and you have been having a hard time settling on a monitor do yourself a favor and buy this one.
Coming from a 1080p 144hz TN panel I was unsure if I’d notice a difference and be happy with the upgrade. Going to a 1440 p 165hz VA panel I could not be happier with my decision. Way less led backlight bleed than I thought it would have. Menu options are fairly straight forward, 165hz can only be achieved through using Display port connection as well as G-sync. Black levels look great as well as Vivid color it genuinely makes a difference in slow paced rpg games as well as fast paced FPS way less ghosting than what I expected for a VA panel. Overall at its price point it’s an exceptional buy and I would recommend this monitor to people wanting to upgrade and make that leap to 2K gaming. Overall at its price point it’s an exceptional buy and I would recommend this monitor to people wanting to upgrade and make that leap to 2K gaming. However it’s not all positive the two major gripes I have with it which is obviously subjective, the branding “HDR Ready” personally I would leave this setting off as all it does is just take an HDR signal and Dow sample it to SDR. I tried I’m multiple games and benchmarks to justify running it ended up just leaving it turned off as I felt the color was more accurate and vivid with it off. And secondly the stand leave a lot to be desired it doesn’t go up very high or low and has very limited movements which to some may not be a deal breaker, it wasn’t for me, but just something that is hard to tell until you have in your hands to see it.
I enjoy this monitor a lot, and it is a tremendous upgrade from what I was using previously. The response time is on par with its specifications. Once you get the settings adjusted to your preference, you will never want to go back. I really want to touch base on a couple of things though. For one, there is a dead pixel out the box. It is not an issue at all but from reading other reviews before purchasing it is a common issue. I assumed this would have been addressed from a manufacturing stand point but apparently not (or i got an older production model). That is just a bit cruddy, as you spend a bunch of money on something nice.... you expect defects like this to be apprehended. Sure, contact them and let them fix it. So at that point ill be stuck for several weeks without being able to use my rig because i need to send it in for repair/replacement. On a product that should have been good out the box.... or taken out of rotation due to a known issue. Secondly, YOU WILL NEED THE SOFTWARE INTERFACE! Navigating the UI is sticky and nasty with the little "knob". I personally feel that this could have been done better. Honestly though, unless your a stickler, how often are you going to be messing with the settings once you get them right? Lastly, the audio pass through. It just does not work as intended. Your better off using the on board audio, but sucks for you if you have 7.1 Surround Sound headphones. I tried 3 different brands and it just didn't like it at all. Yeah, I just gotta run an extra dongle but for the price you pay, and features that are standard on other brands, it really shouldnt be an issue. As well, the audio pass through comes out with lots of noise at high volume settings. Which again wouldnt be an issue if your not trying to split between headphones and a audio setup. I tried many different cables and double checked on frequency interference many of times. I didn't have this issue with my other monitor. Again, for what you are paying simple standard features shouldnt be an issue. Overall, as far as picture quality and performance I am happy. But for what your paying, i really think certain things should be addressed. It doesnt feel rushed but more or so like there is a lack of QA. Shouldn't have to purchase a high end monitor and then question rather i send it in for repair and go weeks without my rig or just deal with cruddy quality control.
I spent awhile researching monitors, choosing this one based on the listed features and price. So far so good! It includes all the required cables, 1 x HDMI, DP, USB and of course power lead, which I think are around 1.5 metre in length.I've been using this monitor for both office work and gaming. Great upgrade from my old 1080p 60hz monitor. I'm genuinely surprised at the additional screen space 1440p provides over 1080p.Out of the box colours and contrast are clear and vivid. Colours and contrast appear consistent across the entire screen. Did take me a while to calibrate to my liking. There is some ghosting between dark and light colours, mainly from deep blacks to lighter colours but not enough to cause distraction. The OSD application has all the screen adjustments and is easy to use.Listed as 'g-sync compatible' the monitor is correctly recognised in the nVidia drivers with no issues with enabling features. I did however need to reinstall the drivers for the monitor to be recognised. The inbuilt speakers are not the greatest but are adequate. As you'd expect they aren't very loud and lack bass. I do find the sound positioning on them surprisingly good.Overall this is an excellent screen and has exceeded my expectations.
The G27QC represents excellent value, being a 1440p screen with 165hz refresh rate at $350. I've been impressed with it so far - colour representation is good and contrast is great, as expected from a VA monitor. The curve is pleasant and borders are minimal although still present (I measure them to be around 10mm from the screen edge). The UI is easy to navigate and there are loads of settings to play around with.My criticisms are that there are significant backlight bright patches that are very noticeable in dark scenes and this is only exacerbated by the curve of the screen affecting the viewing angle. If you play more dimly lit games or watch a lot of movies you may find this to be quite distracting although the contrast between light and dark areas is still ... MoreThe G27QC represents excellent value, being a 1440p screen with 165hz refresh rate at $350. Another issue I have with this monitor is the presence of ghosting during motion which causes a motion-blur effect - this can be very noticeable in some games like Squad. I find that this effect is particularly obvious at times when your framerate is tanking, so this will probably only be an issue if your PC can't achieve consistently high framerates.Overall an excellent monitor that I'm very happy with, perhaps consider other options if you play darker games or your PC isn't up to the task of supplying this thing with over 60 frames.
I was looking for a well-rounded gaming monitor that wouldn't break the bank and was deciding between this and the AOC CQ27G2. I ultimately chose this because it was a better overall monitor for more use cases. I split my time evenly between watching videos, playing games, and office work, within bright lighting conditions and in the dark. For these varying usage scenarios, I sought out VA monitors and avoided IPS options. The excellent contrast greatly benefits TV shows and movies and really makes colors pop. I experienced no flickering while gaming and wasn't able to discern obvious motion artifacts. It gets respectably brighter than the AOC and trades blows with it on response time, depending on which the benchmark. I experienced no flickering while gaming and wasn't able to discern obvious motion artifacts. It gets respectably brighter than the AOC and trades blows with it on response time, depending on which the benchmark. Its only real weakness is mediocre color and gamma accuracy out of the box. This can be rectified with an ICC profile and colorimeter, which I used, but this is an expensive and unreasonable solution. The monitor stand lacks the ability to swivel, but is a non-issue as one could simply reposition the monitor. It's not a high-end monitor, but it isn't meant to be. It does what it needs to do and it does it reasonably well. Unfortunately, the above applies only if you have a perfect panel, which mine wasn't thanks to dead pixels out of the box. My first unit had at least one dead pixel, my replacement had at least three. I don't know if it's just a bad batch from Gigabyte, but be prepared to play the panel lottery.
