The Gigabyte X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming is equipped with AMD's X470 chipset and optimized for use with the Ryzen 2000 Series Pinnacle Ridge CPUs. The high-end chipset supports up to 64 GB RAM with high achievable clock rates. In addition, the X470 chipset is compatible with all new features of the second generation Ryzen processors and benefits from further optimizations, such as the new overclocking feature XFR2. The socket AM4 mainboard provides two M.2 slots with PCIe connection. M.2 SSDs connected via four PCI Express 3.0 lanes in conjunction with the advanced NVM Express protocol (NVMe) support data transfer rates of up to 32 Gbps, making them up to eight times faster than SATA 6G hard drives. A slot can also be operated in SATA mode. On the I/O panel of the Gigabyte X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming is a USB 3.1 port with type C socket. The new USB type C port is particularly thin and can be plugged in on both sides. USB 3.1 or USB 3.1 Gen 2 reaches maximum speeds of 10 Gbps per port and USB ports with this standard support fast charging of smartphones and tablets. A special feature is the integrated RGB Fusion lighting, which allows individual RGB lighting effects at several lighting zones and can be controlled via software.
