So this is my second one in 2 years. They last about 10 months each. My first razor had the Bugatti finish razor and i loved the look and feel of this Razor. Sadly after 10 months Lights started flashing and then died. Warranty was disappointing as Gillette wouldn't do a thing! I offered to ship it to them but nothing, Because I loved the heat that the razor delivered, I bought another one figuring that this was a one time issue and this time bought the non-Bugatti edition to save some money. That was last Christmas. Well Here I am today 10-11 months later and same issue, lights flashing and I am generally upset. I am now out $400 in two years. I am not going to waste my time arguing with their Customer Service team again whose job is obviously to keep their defect ... MoreSo this is my second one in 2 years. They last about 10 months each. Having been a massive fan of the Fusion 5 power blades for many years I decided to upgrade after watching many reviews, and after much consideration. I so wanted this to be good, especially given the price, but I’m afraid it’s just not up to expectation and I was so disappointed. Yes, the heat is a nice feeling but it just isn’t any better, or even as good as my fusion power razor that I’ve had for many years, in my opinion. The fact that you also have to charge it every few days is a pain and I found that whilst making multiple passes with the blade that the heat seemed to dry out the skin meaning I had to lubricated much more with shaving gel, given I’m bald and shave my face a head daily and make multiple passes with the blade. Gougers, Gillette been ripping us off for years. I bought 300 blades from Costco when they were like 16 blades for $ about 32- 35 per pack. . It worked out at like 2.50-$3 tops for the blades. I bought the heated razor for $112 on Amazon and got the heated blades type for $32 for 9 blades. Now they want $40 for 8 blades. $5 for a dinky razor blade is ROBERY. I’m willing to pay $2.50 to$ 3 TOPS for a quality blade. But $5 is out of the question. The heated razor is ok not worth more than 29.99 and selling these for $150 there robbing us. $112 -$@20 was Amazon special but they ripp you on the blades. I was a bit dubious about the claims I have read but I bought a starter kit anyway to see what all the fuss was about. I am glad I did. When it arrived I couldn’t wait to try it out even the packaging it came in made it look like a quality product. When I opened the box I plugged the charger in and put the razor on its magnetic stand whick is quite good by the way it only took about 1 hour to charge. The shave it’s self was an experience the razor warms up nicely and I got an extra close shave if I do so myself. All in all a very good experience from ordering the heated razor to using it. I have used Gillette products for years but they have excelled them selves this time. I would recommend any one to buy one of these and not be impressed.
Bought 15 months ago and the power died — offered a 30% discount. My 5 year old vibrating razor for 1/10th the cost still works - I would have thought for $150 that I would get similar quality. Neat concept but horrible service. To make matters worse there is no option to just buy the razor handle. The charger works fine, adding insult to injury I have 9 unused refills at a cost of $40+. Tomorrow I will put them all in overnight mail to Proctor and Gamble’s CEO along with a transcript of my conversation with the company’s chat bot. Someone needs to educate Gillette in customer service. Either that or they can go back to selling .79 safety blades for 50 years ago!
I bought the blue Bugatti version about two years ago and have had an up and down relationship with it.When it works and you use hot water to rinse it definitely helps, but you have to shave slowly or the warming feature is useless.The blades use to be much better quality. I am someone that saves once a week or every two weeks, but I use a beard trimmer in between shaves. I don't not have very thick facial hair and my skin is pretty sensitive to shaving even at 48 years old. I use to be able to get 3-5 shaves per razor, even with long breaks in between. Now I'm lucky if I can get two shaves per blade. If I wait a couple weeks between shaves I only get one use. This Rapid Foaming Shavel Gel for Men by Gillette Labs is great it has vitamin B3+ Sea Kelp+ Algues. And it feels great on your face it leaves a slick foamy gel so it makes your shave very clean without cutting up your face or leaving it irritated. It easily leaves a great lather. Just a quick squirt into your palm and rub your hands togeather and you'll have enuff to cover your entire face. So this 7oz bottle will last a very long time wich makes it well worth the price. I’m a big fan of Gillette Labs. I use a handle and blades from the line and find it’s a great price/value product.I was hoping the shave gel would follow that high standard but unfortunately it did not.It’s not bad per se, just not great. The scent is “fresh” and not off-putting but it’s juvenile and gives me major HS vibes. The gel lathers OK but my preferred brand gives a much richer lather, which I like. I did feel like this left a bit more residue and didn’t give me the same level of shave that my usual brand delivers.Bottom line- it’s ok, try it, you might like it. Or you might not. 3 stars.
I received this product from influenster in exchange for my opinion. First off, this is a 10/10 for me. I am very loyal when I find something I like, and have used the same old stuff for years, until I tried this! First time I used this I fell in love. The second you hit it to lather, it fluffs up into this super light and fluffy cream. A little goes a long way. There is a slight cooling feeling when you start to shave and this smells incredible! Very light but amazing scent. When I find something I love, I stockpile it in fear of it disappearing. So just incase, I bought 12 bottles as backups! LoL. Just found my new favorite!
