Almost Perfect

Overall the razor does give an excellent shave. Not sure yet (only used for two weeks) how beneficial the heated facility effect improved the experience. Will try an evening shave rather than early morning. Personally I would prefer the packaging was less glamorous, particularly when purchased directly online from Gillette. Maybe alternatives could be used when not being sold through a shop. Minor I know, but it just gets thrown away, cost with no real benefit. However I would recommend the Gilletlabs Heated Razor.

An indulging shaving experience

It was a little scratchy after three weeks of use, but by no means ineffective.Yes the heated shaver is an indulgence, but if you can afford it and justify it, it’s well worth getting the experience.

Best shave outside of a barbershop

Now the shaving: I could feel the warm feeling even on a longer beard than I would have usually had; it was powerful but without getting too hot. The heat made it less of a struggle to shave against the grain With each go, the razor kept the same temperature, which made it a quick shave. I would only stop to rinse and immediately continue. In conclusion, the razor does perform better than any other I had tried but what I enjoyed the most is the constant warm feeling on my face. There is just something soothing about shaving with heat.

Most of the features are similar to other Gilette razors – the FlexDisc allows for hard-to-reach areas to be shaved with ease, and the 5 closely-packed blades to get right down to the skin; the heat really is the icing on the cake.As it is heated, there is that additional issue of charging as opposed to the usual razor, but the premium magnetic charger does make this very simple – just a case of placing it on there upright and leaving it for an hour or so. All of it is very transportable too, and you probably don’t need the charger if going on a short trip (and I guess you could always use it without the heating bar on), so there isn’t too much hassle after all.With its high price, you do definitely get a premium product – it feels very sturdy (it is quite heavy, mind!), and I get the impression it would last a long time. I love the small features too – from the expensive-looking box it comes in through to the LED lights that glow when it is on/charging.Whilst I think the blades are slightly better than the standard Gilette ones, my main – and perhaps only – gripe is the price of replacement heads; after spending nearly £150 on a razor, it does seem quite a lot to have to fork out £45 for 8 replacement heads. When the results are this good, however, perhaps that is just the price I will have to face up and pay.

Gillette Labs Heated Razor

The Gillette Labs Heated Razor is a terribly designed product and made to fail prematurely. I received the razor as a gift in Dec 2020. Whenit failed 9 months later I was embarrassed to ask for the sales receipt yo have it replaced underwarranty.I waited 8 weeks for the replacement razor. Now 6 months later it has also failed. Gillette will not replace the defective unit a second time.I have used Gillette products for over 60 years and am thoroughly disappointed in their customer service and of course the product design. It is very poor quality. Fo not waste your money on the Heated Razor as it is a lemon.

Nice Piece of Kit

My husband has always been a loyal Gillette user. This is a step up on the excellent Fusion with the heat feature that yields a close, smooth and professional shave. My husband informs me that it is a delight to use and both soothing and effective. Certainly a pricey investment but online there are deals and discounts to be had for the discriminating purchaser as well as bundle offers and free gifts. Appearance wise this is chic and cutting edge which gives kudos to what might be seen as a basic self care item. A product where elegant form twins with functionality.

Unjustified price tag

It did the job, but it was not much better than only warming up your regular razor under hot water. I did not feel hot towel effect at all.Final verdict - it's the same ordinary blade, with fancy features which are more advertisement trick than actual benefit for the user. High price tag unjustified and I hope cartridges will get cheaper in the long run so I could buy them in the future.

I ordered my new Heated Razor online, however the delivery was not successful. When I contacted Gillette customer services and they quickly rearranged a new delivery. My new razor finally arrived and I opened the box. Gillette have taken inspiration from Apple and Samsung, in that the razor is packaged in a high quality box with three layers that reveal the razor, the charger instructions etc. You even have to hold the edge of the box and wait for the 2-3 seconds while the inner box gently slips out onto the table. The quality of the whole package is evident, the razor head heats up quickly and provides fir a smooth shave. My previous razor was the Gillette Fusion Power with the vibrating razor head. At the same time, I was expecting that the heating bar will warm up my skin, and shaving will be less irritating. After using this razor for few times, I feel a little bit disappointed. It has a good grip, but the "body" is quite chunky and too light. The ergonomic design of Mach 3 is much better. Main feature – heating bar, works in some way, but certainly not the way I was hoping. Since you have to rinse the blades after every glide, you need to ensure that hot water is used. If you pour cold water on the blades, then the heating bar will lose its heat immediately, and you will have to wait 3-5sec before next glide. Overall not very useful feature, certainly very far away from "hot towel effect", but my skin it looks like less irritated than using other razors. Heat bar doesn't make this razor exceptional, and shaving results very much the same as other ordinary razors. The high price tag is unjustified, and I am feeling uncomfortable to spend three times more than I spend now to buy replacement cartridges.
