I'm reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado.Reviews are often subjective, so to provide some kind of comparison I tested the Labs blade against my existing Fusion. Both have 5 blades for shaving whilst the Fusion has an additional blade on the reverse for trimming sideburns. Both of the 5 blade cartridges work equally well and I couldn't tell the difference shaving half my face with Labs and half with Fusion. Fortunately I didn't cut myself with either the Labs or Fusion in the week's testing undertaken. Blade longevity and effectiveness will of course vary depending on the thickness of hair and soap used but I have no concerns about the quality of the cartridge.Handles - I had to purchase a Labs handle to use the blades and whilst it works ... MoreI'm reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado.Reviews are often subjective, so to provide some kind of comparison I tested the Labs blade against my existing Fusion. The handle is slightly slimmer and has noticeably fewer ribs (than the Fusion) for gripping with a soapy hand. I prefer the larger Fusion handle for my size 10 hands.Labs and Fusion have differing exfoliating/hair lifting strips before the blades and I was unable to tell the difference in practice.Labs doesn't have the sideburn trimmer which I have become used to on the Fusion. This, and the handle size mean that I will continue using the Fusion. Labs may suit someone with smaller hands but be aware that the blade cartridge doesn't come with the trim blade. The Labs system is very good, however for me the Fusion is better.

This was a Christmas gift to me in 2022. Use it sporadically (3 times a week) and the razor died on me mid-February 2024. Gillette customer service, who is actually quite nice but not particularly helpful, offered a 30% discount to purchase a new one because it was after a year - there is only a 1-year warranty on it. Quite concerning that this is the best Gillette can do for a razor that costs over $100. Separately, the heating function is generally fine but not a significantly better or noticeable experience than other cheaper, more durable Gillette razors. I think for a razor of this cost, Gillette should have a much longer warranty period; the 1-year warranty essentially implies that Gillette acknowledges this razor has a limited shelf life.

I purchased the new Gillette Labs razor with exfoliating bar, and had extremely high hopes for an unforgettable shave. Starting with a hot steam shower, and making sure that everything was laid out, I anticipated the finest clean shave that I could hope for. Initially, disappointment set in, as I couldn't find a rhythm to the razor, resulting in a poor finish. However, a couple of days later I returned, and found that my mind had begun to adjust and that I know understood how to let the blade work. I found this time, an effortless result, and utilising the flexible handle, turned corners smoothly and comfortably. I then discovered how to apply pressure when needed to get that professional barbers clean shave, utilising the 90 degree pressure angle, and furthermore I ... MoreI purchased the new Gillette Labs razor with exfoliating bar, and had extremely high hopes for an unforgettable shave. Give a try, and with patience and practice, it is impossible to be disappointed!

Gougers, Gillette been ripping us off for years. I bought 300 blades from Costco when they were like 16 blades for $ about 32- 35 per pack. . It worked out at like 2.50-$3 tops for the blades. I bought the heated razor for $112 on Amazon and got the heated blades type for $32 for 9 blades. Now they want $40 for 8 blades. $5 for a dinky razor blade is ROBERY. I’m willing to pay $2.50 to$ 3 TOPS for a quality blade. But $5 is out of the question. The heated razor is ok not worth more than 29.99 and selling these for $150 there robbing us. $112 -$@20 was Amazon special but they ripp you on the blades. Going back to the buzzer type Gillettte to use up my other Gillette 2.50 cent blades. Then I’m going to Harry’s shave club where they don’t gouge. I got this GilletLabs with Exfoliating Bar Razor to replace my old Mach 3 that i've had for years and I was super pumped the day that it arrived. I was looking forward to finally having a new razor with an exfoliating bar and also to finally have a magnetic base for my razor! (which is probably the 2nd coolest feature of this product after to the exfoliating bar =)The first few times I used this razor I did notice a closer shave, so much so that I noticed I could almost go and extra day without shaving versus the standard 2 days I was used to with my Mach 3.However, during a couple of these initial shaves I did have the unfortunate event of cutting myself with the razor when trying to shave just below my nostrils since I believe this razor simply has 1 too ... MoreI got this GilletLabs with Exfoliating Bar Razor to replace my old Mach 3 that i've had for years and I was super pumped the day that it arrived. So while I still use this razor for 90% of each of my shaves i've resorted to using my Mach 3 for the hard-to-get-to areas on my face to avoid cutting myself. So other than the "1 too many blades" concern above, I am still very happy with this razor and do enjoy the close shave, exfoliating bar, and magnetic base that it comes with. If they offered a smaller version of this razor with 1 or 2 less blades i'd buy it in a heart beat. But don't get me wrong this is still a great razor and worthy of at least 4 stars! So Thank-you Gillette!
Bought 15 months ago and the power died — offered a 30% discount. My 5 year old vibrating razor for 1/10th the cost still works - I would have thought for $150 that I would get similar quality. Neat concept but horrible service. To make matters worse there is no option to just buy the razor handle. The charger works fine, adding insult to injury I have 9 unused refills at a cost of $40+. Tomorrow I will put them all in overnight mail to Proctor and Gamble’s CEO along with a transcript of my conversation with the company’s chat bot. Someone needs to educate Gillette in customer service. Either that or they can go back to selling .79 safety blades for 50 years ago!
I have recently purchased my second Gillette heated razor. The first lasted two years, when it would not stay on and did not heat. Probably the battery just died. I bought another one so that in itself says I was pleased, and I am. i shave every day, no exception and i like a very close shave. This razor makes something that is a chore every morning easier, enjoyable and not a job to dread doing. I prepare my beard with quality (Art of Shaving) cream first. The shave really is great as I do not like to feel stubble when I am finished. As for the blades, I have gotten as long as two months from one blade, shaving every day. I highly recommend this razor.
I must readily admit that I'm a bit of a shaving snob and it has taken me years to perfect my shaving routine, from the actual products used to the overall process. So, needless to say, I'm always apprehensive of trying something new. I gave up cartridge razors years ago, as the results were always subpar and it simply was not worth it. I can honestly state, however, that this is the most effective and most comfortable cartridge razor that I have ever used. A lot of it has to do with using the right shaving products (pre-shave, cream, oil, after-shave, etc.) for you, so your results will be dependent upon finding the right match for yourself. My immediate reaction when I tried this particular razor was surprise at the weight. My immediate reaction when I tried this particular razor was surprise at the weight. Cartridge razors typically feel much too light and flimsy, but that's certainly not the case with this one. The weight is good and the handle is balanced in a way that it does not create any sort of undesirable fatigue with prolonged use. Quality is top-notch for a cartridge razor. I still somewhat believe that the claim that this razor's exfoliating technology removes debris is a gimmick...but it doesn't really hurt anything, either. I almost can't believe that I'm saying that the performance of a cartridge razor is satisfactory, but this comes way closer than anything similar. While I won't be using this as my go-to razor or a replacement to what I have been using, it will definitely be nice to have this for occasions when it might be appropriate, such as traveling.
I bought this as it was on offer and I thought it was worth a punt. I am a daily shaver and use Gillette already. The unit arrived nicely packaged and I charged for the first 6 hours. My shaving routine probably lasts around 7 to 10 minutes so I find I have to charge every other day. The shave feels nice and warm but doesn’t feel particularly close, I was using a shaving cream so ordered the Gillette gel to see if that was better. It’s OK but not as close as their normal shavers. I find that the moisturising bar on the blade isn’t that effective so towards the end of a shave it feels like my face is quite dry even with rinsing the shaver in water. I think it’s a nice idea but I wouldn’t be too pleased if I had spent the full price on it. I can see this being put ... MoreI bought this as it was on offer and I thought it was worth a punt. I bought the blue Bugatti version about two years ago and have had an up and down relationship with it.When it works and you use hot water to rinse it definitely helps, but you have to shave slowly or the warming feature is useless. The blades use to be much better quality. I am someone that saves once a week or every two weeks, but I use a beard trimmer in between shaves. I don't not have very thick facial hair and my skin is pretty sensitive to shaving even at 48 years old. I use to be able to get 3-5 shaves per razor, even with long breaks in between. Now I'm lucky if I can get two shaves per blade. If I wait a couple weeks between shaves I only get one use. This is a problem since these blades are considerably more than regular Gillette blades, especially if ... MoreI bought the blue Bugatti version about two years ago and have had an up and down relationship with it.When it works and you use hot water to rinse it definitely helps, but you have to shave slowly or the warming feature is useless. The blades use to be much better quality. This is a problem since these blades are considerably more than regular Gillette blades, especially if you go to Costco. The reason for the one star is that my razor recently started blinking fast when I attempt to turn it on. That goes on for about 5 secs and the razor does not turn on or heat up. I've looked online and tried everything to try to get it to work. For $170 (on Amazon) you would expect this not to happen or to have a better warranty.I have always taken very good care of this luxury purchase, which I researched before buying because I was willing to try anything for relief when shaving.I think Gillette is onto something but needs more R&D to work our the kinks, at least to be able to charge what they do for this razor.
